Not sure why but with this location I never have a good experience. Either the service is bad or the crepes don't taste the way they do at other locations. I only been here twice and to be honest I sort of avoid coming here. But came here for the second time and again I wasn't thrilled. I do love T-Swirl though but their Astoria and Forest Hills locations are my favorite. I always get the same crepe strawberry and banana which is number 3 on their menu, I believe but it just doesn't taste the same at this location as my favorite other locations. I love, love, love all these new additions on Union Street lately! But like Teaus, I think they are just lacking quality, and focused more on appeal. I had such high hopes for T-swirlcrepe when I heard there's a new crepe place in town. I'm not usually a fan of crepes that are saturated with too much combinations, and I think this place assured that. It was kind of a tough choice, but I went with the Caramel Fuji Apple Crepe. If you're in for a sugar rush, you may like this, but I like my crepes with a bit of everything--sweet, salty, tart. I wasn't a huge fan of the super sweet cream, and the apples were fresh, but it was just overwhelmingly sweet. The worst part was probably the raisins, which was such a weird addition and didn't go well with the crepe overall, especially the granola. For more than $6, I expected something so amazing, I'd want to come back every other day but this didn't do it for me. Along this small stretch of road on union is a bunch of tiny boutique like stores like a street right out of a small town. One of my more favorite shops is the new crepe shop with its glass domed display of all the types of yummy crepes you can get inside. Each one is assembled before you laid out like a tasty masterpiece and rolled up into a perfect cone. Lychee, raspberry and cream is one that I always like to get with its gummy lychee halves and rose scented cream and raspberries. Not too tart but pleasant to your nose and to your taste buds. The blueberry cheesecake has ice cream in it but as of yet its name is urging me to go back. But there are a bunch of toppings like nutella, pistachios, almonds, fresh berries and even chocolate truffles. There are equally as many savory crepes as there are sweet ones and I always tend to lean toward the savory ones. The angus short rib was also good but the meat reminded me of skewer size chunks that I do not connotate with tender short ribs I am used to having. The Okinawa hot dog sported some cocktail like weiners that reminded me of sweet taiwanese sausages. The crunchy string beans, frisee and corn gave it good texture. The shrimp and avocado is a good light meal for one. I like to add bacon as a good alternative to surf and turf as the salty bacon complements the briny shrimp and the creaminess of the avocado, edamame and spinach leaves round it out. Some of the savory ones are chock full of veggies like a garden salad which makes it taste very fresh. The bacon was a little more chewy than crispy but that is probably to keep it from falling apart. The sweet crepe wrapping does a good job of keeping it all together. I did not find it too dense or too flimsy. Crepes are definitely to be treated delicately. There is a whole technique to eating a crepe effectively. Use of both hands is a must. Having your plastic fork poised readily- a nibble here, a bite there, cradle it firmly, unfold a corner of the wrapper. Its almost like a mating ritual with your mouth as you savor each of the ingredients tucked within its folds. Most importantly take your time or your lap will be littered with random bits of produce. The crepes are gluten free but you have to be very careful when ordering as they use nuts on the premises and may not necessarily change gloves. They also have a loyalty program and you can earn toward a free crepe. Nothing better than a free crepe in my opinion. This is a good place to stop into after a small dinner in flushing or if you seek a light lunch or just want to nosh on something if you get bubble tea in the area. With t swirl competing with eight turn in the city, I think my winner is t swirl. If you're more of a quantity person, eight turn tends to pack their crepes with a little more oomph than t swirl. However, I prefer the batter in t swirl more because the crepe is able to stay firm despite the ice cream and other toppings. I love the crepes here!! Ever since I tried them, I stopped going to cafe bench and new world mall as much. Everything is so fresh. The crepe itself was crispy and not soft and soggy. The ice cream tastes delicious. The yogurt sauce made it even better. My favorite from the menu so far is the Matcha Azuki Bean crepe. There are only 3 items on the menu that comes with ice cream in the price (Matcha Azuki Bean, Blueberry NY Cheesecake, and Chocolate Nut Party). The others, need additional price for the ice cream. Crepes for lunch aren't really my thing so I didn't get one. But from what my life told me the ingredients 'em were very fresh from the shrimps to the avocados. It's also a very health option with and even comes with a wide variety of vegetables. Such vegetable for the one we got includes avocado, baby spinach, carrots, red peppers, and edamame. Then everything was topped off with a chili Thai sauce and a wasabi tofu sauce. My wife can't eat spicy food but she said that this Shrimp Avocado crepe was perfect and the wasabi wasn't to spicy. So if you're looking for a healthy lunch or snack give this place a try. It's not the cheapest meal but it's sure to fill you up. They also have dessert crepes when you're done with the savory one. I ordered "breakfast" which was more like brunch and every bit of it was fresh and delicious. Smoked Salmon Crepe was my favorite. The freshness hit me as soon as I unwrapped it. Simple. Clean. Delicious. You'll spend more here than you would for a standard crepe elsewhere, but I, the notoriously frugal (read: Asian), can attest to the value of T-Swirl's crepes. As others have mentioned, the crepes are naturally gluten free as they are made wholly with rice flour. Now, obviously this means the crepe isn't as floppy and soft (giggle) as a standard gluten-filled one is, but it is crispy and quite chewy, so you won't be missing a thing. I don't know if you're tired of the number of reviews in which I discuss my Celiac's-having girlfriend, but my girlfriend has Celiac's, so any gluten-free dessert shop automatically gets a visit from us. We've been here twice so far, and I've had the blueberry cheesecake, which is just as fattening as you are imagining it to be considering it's gelato (more on this later) and whipped cream cheese, and the chocolate truffle one. Both are superb, though the execution on the chocolate truffle one is a bit off because there are just not so bite-sized pieces of decadent chocolate just hanging out at the top; I think it would be better if they either shaved or chopped those pieces. THEY USE IL LABORATIO DEL GELATO GELATO. Customer service shone during our first visit when we specifically asked to make sure pocky sticks weren't included in her crepe (because she has Celiac's--have I mentioned that already?), but that request was forgotten. When we mentioned it to them, the crepe...fashioner (maker? Crepe barista? Creperer?) just removed the sticks from the crepe as if to indicate no-harm-no-foul. When we explained the issue with that, apologies were given all around and they quickly made a fresh one sans pocky sticks. Not only that, but they seemed to be genuinely surprised at the seriousness of cross-contamination. Kudos to them! I always wanted to come try this place out but never had the chance to because it is not so convenient coming out to main street, flushing due to parking and massive traffic. I ordered the macha azuki bean crepe and my friend ordered the blueberry cheesecake crepe. Both crepes were delicious and i love how the ingredients were so fresh, especially the fruits. The store is small but i love the interior design of the store. I especially love the variety of crepe displays at the front of the store. The staff was so kind and very helpful. It looked so cute and yummy, i had to stop by the place is really small and only have a few seats so don't assume you will be eating there when you go! The first time i went, i got the Matcha Azaki Bean crepe which comes with green tea ice cream, strawverries, red bean, matcha custard cream, and 2 pocky sticks!! It was reallllyyy good and not as messy to eat as i thought it was going to be! Let me just start by saying that this establishment's menu is a complete knock-off of Eight Turn Crepe (located in Nolita). Even the display window is essentially the same. The only difference is that in some crepes, there is one more miniscule ingredient like mini choco balls. Now on to the actual rating, the place is bigger than Eight Turn Crepe and a bit more roomy. The crepes are pretty good except they cook the crepes more so its crispier. Eight Turn Crepe is a lot softer and fluffy. I have been to this T-Swirl location twice and have gotten the strawberry banana, blueberry NY cheese cake and the BLT crepes. The strawberry banana also included custard cream and whipped yogurt which was an ok combination, but I would have preferred it if they left out the yogurt. But overall it was delicious and filling! My cousin got the blueberry NY cheesecake and because she is a super germaphobe for a 10-year-old, I was only able to taste a little of what I could gracefully tear off at the top. The crepe included whipped cream cheese in addition to the custard cream and whipped yogurt. From what I could taste, it was pretty good and my cousin really enjoyed it too! (She's fairly hard to please when it comes to food.) Finally, the BLT is the only savory crepe that I have tried from them. To me, I found the chipotle aioli and sesame dressing combination overpowering (Which tasted like a version of spicy mayo). There was also too big of a lettuce ratio compared to all of the other ingredients and basically, I felt like I was eating a salad in a crepe with too much dressing.
