My mom and I attended the GCM Festival last month and they were one of the vendors that I had a great foodie experience with. I figured I'd give it another try, and oh I'm so happy I did! When walking into the restaurant, they have this millennial pink aesthetic that's so Instagram worthy. I walked in knowing I wanted to order a banh mi since I had it before but wanted to try some other food options. I glanced over at a DoorDash order and saw this bright orange drink with mangoes on top and had to immediately asked the server what this was. She told me it was the mangonada smoothie - and instantly added that to my order. In addition, I ordered a lemongrass chicken banh and the signature pho noodle soup bowl with chicken and all of the topping. I will say ordering is very easy and quick, however the wait time - was a little long. However, I do understand they make their food fresh as you can watch them prepare your meal. The mangonada smoothie is hands down one of my favorite drinks that I've had in a long time. Immediately you taste the sweetness of the mango with the contrast of the chamoy and tajin seasoning. The dipped straw is covered in the chamoy and tajin seasoning and just compliments it so well. Once I was home, I dove into the pho noodle bowl as the temperature was chilly outside. The broth is very clean tasting and adding the lime to the broth really hit the spot. Now, the lemongrass chicken banh mi is so flavorful. The baguette is very crisp and soft, and airy in texture. For the toppings, my favorite is that pickled carrot and daikon. That elevated this Vietnamese sandwich for me. Today is the soft opening of T-Yummi and while they have a limited menu of 2 standard Vietnamese sandwiches, they pull them off rather well. The reason they lose a star is that there was a lack of meat in the sandwich. All the fresh vegetable flavors overpowered what little meat that was in the bhan mi. And now to the main attraction, the Boba tea (milk tea)! I chose the brown sugar milk tea because for me it is the standard and once again, they did a great job. Not too sweet and a very good balance of flavors. You will definitely enjoy eating every single tapioca ball until none are left. The interior is very modern and has clean lines throughout. The tea I ordered was nice with chunks of fresh mango. Pretty sure I asked for peach. It was yummy. Pho is meh, broth is weak with limp and broken noodles. You will want the hoisin and sriracha. Wonderful food and great service! We've tried the pork bahn mi, the bowl with grilled chicken, the summer rolls, and the panacotta with fresh fruit. Everything is light and delicious and very flavorful. The meats have been marinated and are cooked perfectly tender. The veggies are fresh and crispy, and the pickled side items and jalapeños, etc. are portioned well so everything is in balance for each bite, and the sauces are the perfect complement. The panacotta wasn't too sweet so it was another light layer to the meal. The prices are good because portions are generous. The staff are welcoming, eager to please and seem to love working together so there is a nice vibe. We are repeat customers now. Tyummi is the newest Vietnamese place in town, serving bahn mi, pho, and boba. The thing that differentiates them from other places is the ability to build your own bahn mi, which I really appreciate. And boy are they big sandwiches. You definitely get your money's worth here. My biggest issue is the wait time for food. I understand that they have not been open for long but it seems like they just don't have enough staff. Multiple times I saw people switching through stations to help out and it caused a lot of slowdown in multiple areas. Do not come here expecting to get in and out quickly. Wow, I have been meaning to try this place ever since it launched with the soft opening in February! I never got around because of how busy it always was, but I finally managed to sneak in for a late lunch! Instantly, I was blown away by how trendy the interior was! Obviously not every place needs to look cute, but it's always a plus! Everything was super clean and polished--and pink (my favorite color)! We took our orders with the super sweet staff and then sat down to wait. I ordered a plain Bánh Mì with Pork Slices, as well as a Peach Fruit Tea with Boba. My boyfriend got the Phỏ with Meatballs. After a short wait, we received our food! The tea for me was perfectly sweet and refreshing, and the boba texture was very soft and chewy, reminiscent of Kung Fu Tea's texture, which I love. The bánh mì was pretty good, but the bread was a little dry and the pork slices were different than what I was used to (I usually get grilled pork at bánh mì places). Still yummy nonetheless! I tried the phở and while the broth was pretty bland, the meat and noodles were good! Overall, I am looking forward to coming back as well as see what plans they have for the future! Happened to find out about bánh mì organically from some daytime show on network TV. Googled and discovered there's a local Vietnamese spot which seems to focus on bubble tea and similar beverages, but also offers a small range of their own fresh, homemade appetizer-slash-lunch dishes. Ordered the bánh mì sandwich with lemongrass-(clearly marinated)-beef along with pickled carrot slivers and daikon radish. This was among several toppings one of which could be added. Also got three (3) spring rolls in rice flour wrap also with carrot, daikon, and fresh cilantro, and unlike with the sandwich their online menu lets you add any or all the available toppings. Was pleasantly surprised to discover this nook in the Butler Center cranny, which notably unlike certain smoothie places that keep the odd chicken or other wrap or panini at arm's length just in case actually appears to prep things for their sensibly limited menu on deck for the day. I have yet to try any of their drinks, given my primary mission was to acquire and destroy bánh mì, and destroy it my wife and I did, with relish, on top of the particularly garlicky Tom Yum style T-sauce which melded excellently with the rolls. Maybe I will get us a beverage or two next time. One withheld for that reason, but food-wise, five stars well deserved! read more

Sadly this place missed the mark for me. Opted to get a Taro milk tea as I do at new places to be able to have a basis for comparison. I asked for it to be 75% sweet and it tasted as if there were extra sweetness instead of less. Unfortunately, there was very few boba present in the drink and it was very chalky and tasted of straight mix. Considering the prices are higher than other places in town and the quality is below par, I would say there are far better options elsewhere in town. Overall we had a pretty good experience. The aesthetic is really cute. The counter is close to the front door so don't be surprised if the line is out the door. I got the signature milk tea 75% with boba. It was a good flavor but still too sweet for me so next time will go with 50% sugar. Can't even imagine what full sugar must be like. My only real complaint was not enough boba. I ran out around 2/3 of the way through which never happens to me when I drink boba tea. Boba were very soft. I can always appreciate a place that is unique on the inside and delivers a tasty product. I got the Mango Milk Tea and Mango Jellies. It was pretty tasty, certainly worth trying more flavors but competition in boba tea space is fierce in that area. This brand new Vietnamese place had its soft opening today! It's a cute little tea shop with aesthetic decorations and good amount of seating inside. The wait for food and drinks was over an hour but that was because they seemed to be understaffed. Overall, the drinks were pretty good! I really enjoyed the T-signature tea. You could tell that the tea is authentic and that it wasn't powder boba tea! I ordered one of the noodle bowls and it was ok! The food came out cold but I wasn't sure if it was meant to be cold. I'm really disappointed because I've been coming here since their grand opening and over the years the quality has just gone down the drain, yet their prices have skyrocketed. I always loved their loaded bowls because they have the tofu option and were a healthy "fast food" choice. In the last several times that I've ordered the bowl, it's gone from $12 to $17, the veggies are not fresh, and the tofu tastes stale like it's been recycled from the days prior. This last time, I asked to be sure they had fresh veggies and was reassured they did, however when I came home to eat the bean sprouts and greens were browned, and I was missing the pickled veggies entirely. The size of the to-go bowl has also gotten smaller over the years. I wish they could get back to how they were when they opened!! You know, I really loved Tyummi. As a frequent boba drinker, I tend to really nitpick boba, but they had one of my favorite teas there! In my most recent visit, I reordered my drink. As I was sipping through it, I suddenly bit down on something crunchy. Crunchy? I thought to myself. I spat out the drink in my mouth- and saw SILICONE BEADS. I give this place 3.5/5 stars. I actually really like Tyummi they never disappointed me until recently. I always enjoy their milk teas and bahn mi! The bahn mis are always packed with flavor and the side sauces add more to it but it's usually not needed. Drinks are always good and up to my satisfaction too. Lately they have been out of inventory with teas and other items that are essential to many drinks. That is fine though, I understand it's happens and i gave them the benefit of the doubt. However, I went in to get my usual Hokkaido milk tea and they didn't have oolong tea. It makes a obvious difference when a different tea is used, I didn't mind them using black tea instead as a substitute. I added creme brûlée as a topping because they had advertised it on their social medias. When I got my drink it wasn't at all creme brûlée, it was just spread throughout the cup. The (majority of) staff just have no sense of urgency and move around slowly. I literally watched a bahn mi sit in a warmer for 10-15 minutes. I opted for the lemongrass chicken Bahn Mi sandwich with all the toppings. The eggs were more hard boiled than runny, so I wouldn't add those next time, but the rest of the sandwich was very large and delicious! Toppings were fresh and flavorful, and the bread had a lovely, glistening crust. It was served with a small (very small) side of broth soup, which had a subtle hint of ginger to it.
