The owner was incredibly sweet and answered all of our questions! She made a slightly different drink than I ordered, but I was not going to mention it as the drink was great! However, on our way out she stopped me and gave me the right drink and apologized! My girlfriend got the banh mi pate and could not stop raving about it! The bonus is, you support a mother and her son by buying at this small business! :)

I'm not one for writing critical reviews but this one is a must. I have had matcha boba tea everywhere. I know how it's supposed to taste and the texture of the boba is supposed to be. But this isn't it. The boba were all stuck together and I couldn't even get it through the straw. Which was very disappointing. The cafe is beautiful inside and that is why I wanted to give it a try. But even though my drink was made correctly I see such potential in this place. The workers are very nice and kind but the service is very slow. Which is understandable when you have online orders but I was the only customer there and I ordered one item. I waited at least 20 minutes for my boba. I hope the improvements will be put in place and I will return again and try another boba in the future.

Tyummi very new in Gainesville. They serve boba tea and Vietnamese food Ana Banh Mi. They use to have popcorn chicken but the day I visited do not have it. I was having layover before get back to Tampa. I decided to stop here to get a drink due summer heat and bathroom break. I got the brown sugar boba tea. I got almond milk due to my stomach cannot take daily milk condition. The drink was prepare with not much of wait. After one sip. Here are my comments. The boba is not soft enough. It is actually tough to chew. May be they didn't cook long enough. The milk tea is a bit low in tea smell or fragrance. These are the two points that they need to improve. Good brown sugar taste.

If you're looking to try Vietnamese food, you definitely need to add Tyummi onto your spots in Gainesville to hit up! My mom and I attended the GCM Festival last month and they were one of the vendors that I had a great foodie experience with. I figured I'd give it another try, and oh I'm so happy I did! When walking into the restaurant, they have this millennial pink aesthetic that's so Instagram worthy. I walked in knowing I wanted to order a banh mi since I had it before but wanted to try some other food options. I glanced over at a DoorDash order and saw this bright orange drink with mangoes on top and had to immediately asked the server what this was. She told me it was the mangonada smoothie - and instantly added that to my order. In addition, I ordered a lemongrass chicken banh and the signature pho noodle soup bowl with chicken and all of the topping. I will say ordering is very easy and quick, however the wait time - was a little long. However, I do understand they make their food fresh as you can watch them prepare your meal. The mangonada smoothie is hands down one of my favorite drinks that I've had in a long time. Immediately you taste the sweetness of the mango with the contrast of the chamoy and tajin seasoning. The dipped straw is covered in the chamoy and tajin seasoning and just compliments it so well. Once I was home, I dove into the pho noodle bowl as the temperature was chilly outside. The broth is very clean tasting and adding the lime to the broth really hit the spot. Now, the lemongrass chicken banh mi is so flavorful. The baguette is very crisp and soft, and airy in texture. For the toppings, my favorite is that pickled carrot and daikon. That elevated this Vietnamese sandwich for me. I highly recommend ordering from Tyummi if you're looking to try some Vietnamese staples in Gainesville!

Have come here so many times. Love the teas. I want to try their lunch one time but I always go for the tea. My go to is the passion fruit but this time I went with the paradise tea. Cute and cozy inside, quick service. This time however, I think there was some mold on one of my fruit pieces. Either that or just a weird looking seed?

Today is the soft opening of T-Yummi and while they have a limited menu of 2 standard Vietnamese sandwiches, they pull them off rather well. The reason they lose a star is that there was a lack of meat in the sandwich. All the fresh vegetable flavors overpowered what little meat that was in the bhan mi. And now to the main attraction, the Boba tea (milk tea)! I chose the brown sugar milk tea because for me it is the standard and once again, they did a great job. Not too sweet and a very good balance of flavors. You will definitely enjoy eating every single tapioca ball until none are left. The interior is very modern and has clean lines throughout. There's even a fun looking selfie station that I'm sure will get used a lot.

Tyummi is the newest Vietnamese place in town, serving bahn mi, pho, and boba. The thing that differentiates them from other places is the ability to build your own bahn mi, which I really appreciate. And boy are they big sandwiches. You definitely get your money's worth here. My biggest issue is the wait time for food. I understand that they have not been open for long but it seems like they just don't have enough staff. Multiple times I saw people switching through stations to help out and it caused a lot of slowdown in multiple areas. Do not come here expecting to get in and out quickly. I would recommend calling in pickup. The food is very worth it, it's just slow.

Loving the cute decor at this place!

Wow, I have been meaning to try this place ever since it launched with the soft opening in February! I never got around because of how busy it always was, but I finally managed to sneak in for a late lunch! Instantly, I was blown away by how trendy the interior was! Obviously not every place needs to look cute, but it's always a plus! Everything was super clean and polished--and pink (my favorite color)! We took our orders with the super sweet staff and then sat down to wait. I ordered a plain Bánh Mì with Pork Slices, as well as a Peach Fruit Tea with Boba. My boyfriend got the Phỏ with Meatballs. After a short wait, we received our food! The tea for me was perfectly sweet and refreshing, and the boba texture was very soft and chewy, reminiscent of Kung Fu Tea's texture, which I love. The bánh mì was pretty good, but the bread was a little dry and the pork slices were different than what I was used to (I usually get grilled pork at bánh mì places). Still yummy nonetheless! I tried the phở and while the broth was pretty bland, the meat and noodles were good! Overall, I am looking forward to coming back as well as see what plans they have for the future! I'm always excited to try up and coming restaurants, and I hope T-YUMMÌ will be a Gainesville staple!

    Taro Latte

My favorite tea bar in Gainesville. The food is always fresh and the drinks are creatively crafted. The pretty packaging is a plus!

Is that fresh daikon, carrot, and cilantro?? Yes it is!
    Pele W.

Happened to find out about bánh mì organically from some daytime show on network TV. Googled and discovered there's a local Vietnamese spot which seems to focus on bubble tea and similar beverages, but also offers a small range of their own fresh, homemade appetizer-slash-lunch dishes. Ordered the bánh mì sandwich with lemongrass-(clearly marinated)-beef along with pickled carrot slivers and daikon radish. This was among several toppings one of which could be added. Also got three (3) spring rolls in rice flour wrap also with carrot, daikon, and fresh cilantro, and unlike with the sandwich their online menu lets you add any or all the available toppings. Was pleasantly surprised to discover this nook in the Butler Center cranny, which notably unlike certain smoothie places that keep the odd chicken or other wrap or panini at arm's length just in case actually appears to prep things for their sensibly limited menu on deck for the day. I have yet to try any of their drinks, given my primary mission was to acquire and destroy bánh mì, and destroy it my wife and I did, with relish, on top of the particularly garlicky Tom Yum style T-sauce which melded excellently with the rolls. Maybe I will get us a beverage or two next time. One withheld for that reason, but food-wise, five stars well deserved!

    Signature Rolls
    Alexmary F.

I've come here before and the signature rolls are delicious! I always get mine with tofu (they have honey btw!). The pho however is not my favorite. My boyfriend liked his chicken pho but the veggie one was not it.

    Chandani D.

Sadly this place missed the mark for me. Opted to get a Taro milk tea as I do at new places to be able to have a basis for comparison. I asked for it to be 75% sweet and it tasted as if there were extra sweetness instead of less. Unfortunately, there was very few boba present in the drink and it was very chalky and tasted of straight mix. Considering the prices are higher than other places in town and the quality is below par, I would say there are far better options elsewhere in town. As others have mentioned, the wait time was also excessive as I waited 20 minutes for 1 drink.

Undercooked or possibly reused from yesterday's batch. Boba is known for being hard as a rock if not cooked fresh

Oh my god, I took a single bite and didn't speak to my friend for 15 minutes as I continued munching it down. It was amazing. The vermicelli comes underneath this mound of pork holy grail, and while I'm used to having my vermicelli with these bowls cold and a bit thinner, and there being significantly more noodles than meat ratio, I'm thrilled to say that not this bowl - this bowl was 60% pork, 30% noodle, and 10% veggie. I'm taking every bite with 2-3 pieces of pork. I'm soaking up the juices with the noodles. I'm crunching on a few cucumbers to balance it out. I'm savoring every piece. Absolutely wonderful. I'm so excited to go back and try every one of their dishes. The restaurant itself is small, located inside of a shared mini-food court place with a pasta-to-go restaurant and a boba tea shop, and has a really cute sitting area. It's a decent size and it was clean and most of its customers on a Sunday at lunchtime were Asian. Our servers were two young men and they were very attentive. We had the Vietnamese crepes (our favorites) that came with two smaller ones (instead of a large). The crepes were a bit thin and skimpy on the shrimp (lots of bean sprouts and maybe one shrimp cut in half in each crepe). My husband had beef pho, wish he said was tasty but lacking a decent amount of beef and tendon. I had the bun cha (rice vermicelli) with pork and fried spring rolls. The rolls were not tasty. And my dish had two small slices of pork and so many noodles I brought home a container of noodles and veggies (after scarfing down my two pieces of meat). Being from South Florida, and having travelled to Vietnam last spring, we have eaten lots of Vietnamese food. While the food was not bad, it could have been better by starting with heartier portions for the price. Lunch for 2 was about $50 including tax and tip. P.S. The fish tank was clean and very engaging!

The line wasn't too long inside, so we decided we would try it. They were swamped and very busy still, but the staff was doing their best to accommodate everyone. We waited in a short line for maybe 15min before reaching the hostesses table. We were lucky to get seats at the sushi bar! The interior is very nice and has a nice vibe. This place is really great for nice dinners, nights out, or a good dinner. Service was definitely off that night. Our water specifically seemed to forget about the group of us since we were seated at the sushi bar. It took her 15 to get us waters and our other drinks didn't even come out until after we got out food (a considerable time later). Like I said it was busy, the sushi bar was swamped with orders, but they were working diligently to keep up with the influx of orders. Most of us ordered sushi, so we ended up waiting a considerable amount of time for our meals. My one friend ordered an entree from the kitchen and it came out within 10 minutes of her ordering it. Our sushi was served about 20-30 minutes after her dish. This is frustrating and slightly awkward as my friend felt bad eating while the rest of us didn't have any food yet. Again, this is no fault to the sushi chefs. They were working extremely hard to produce quality sushi for all the guests. My problem came with our server, Emma. She didn't check in on us at all, didn't even serve our dishes to us, and like I said, forgot to get us drinks, etc. While this was frustrating, I do not think this is a reflection of the restaurant overall. It appeared the other serves were fine keeping up with their tables. For the food, we started with the crab rangoons and steamed pork potstickers. These came out within 10 minutes of ordering and were great starters! They each included 6 pieces per order. The crab rangoons were stuffed with ample amounts of cream cheese and crab meat. They were perfectly crispy and I thought these were some of the better Rangoons I've had. The potstickers hit the spot, but weren't anything too special, pretty standard. For my sushi, I ordered the Golden Apple Roll (per our servers recommendation) and a daily special roll called the bonzai Roll. The golden apple roll included spicy crunchy salmon, Fuji apples, mango, and mango sauce. This was decent and something different but not my favorite. 5)3 flavors were super unique but there wasn't a sweetness at all oddly like I was expecting. Instead it had a distinct tart flavor to it. Different, but not my vibe. Now the bonzai roll was a hit! This roll included tuna, salmon, kani, and avocado inside, topped with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and mayo, then flamed & torched, and finished with eel sauce, caviar, and scallions. There was certainly a lot going on in this one, but I could really taste all the different elements. The fish was extremely fresh and just divine. I also tried some of my friend's sashimi and was blown away with the quality of the fish--just amazing. Overall, we all loved the food here and would 100% return. The quality is quite good and the fish is melt in your mouth. You can tell they take a lot of pride in their sushi and it is evident in the taste and presentation alone. Now the service was certainly more desirable. I understand it was a very busy night, but our server just appeared to forget about us. Very disappointing as it slightly spoiled our experience and was not a good first impression. Again, we all agreed that we thought it wasn't a fair assessment of the restaurants service overall. I'm hoping next time the service is better and our server can do a better job serving us and checking in on us. I'm also surprised that she never offered to compensate anything in our bill, like our drinks that took 30+ minutes to come out and were served well after we had received our food. But it's not the end of the world. I would still recommend coming here, I actually think their sushi is better than Dragon Flys, better priced, and dare I say higher quality!

My miso soup was pretty standard, nothing too special. But is hit the spot on a chilly evening. For our entrees, my friend ordered the beef udon, while I ordered the Lemongrass chicken. The portions are pretty large and we found it to be quite filling. My friend said this was some of the best udon she'd had. The broth was very flavorful, the beef was tender, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The only thing she didn't like as much was the fried egg, opposed to the more traditional hard boiled egg. My lemongrass chicken was satisfying as well. It came with a copious amount of chicken, with a really tangy sauce over it. The rice was overcooked, which was disappointing. Overall, Bagels and Noodles is a wonderful asian eatery located in Midtown. Its location is prime for college students and I can see why it is so popular. The service is very good and personable. The "hole in the wall" feel of the restaurant makes the atmosphere! The food is made with lots of love and it was served fresh and hot. The dumplings are amazing and I would recommend. My friend is already dying to come back and explore more of their noodle dishes. I will definitely be returning and look forward to trying more things!

The food here is pretty cheap, but you get what you pay for. My bagel sandwich came out with the…read morescrambled egg a little runny, so I sent it back and asked for a new one, which came out much better. The waitress that took it back was a bit rude about it though. The ambiance is alright, just a small quaint place that is more nostalgic than anything. Good place for a college student to get breakfast after a night out.
