T4 is definitely just OK boba but I have to give them credit that I always do come back for the atmosphere. The jasmine tea never really has much tea flavor it's mainly milky and their boba balls are usually on the harder side. But it definitely has good indoor seating for chatting and hanging out. When I heard T4 was opening up in Davis, my first reaction was, "ANOTHER boba shop?!" But I think T4 is definitely one of better ones. They even have a little lounge area set up toward the back that would serve as a cute background for photos or just be a nice place to catch up with friends. I got the MANGO ROYAL TEA with regular sweetness and ice, which was perfect! It wasn't too sweet, and it's definitely one of the top mango flavored teas I've had before. I do agree that the SERVICE was a bit slow, but I can't expect much as there was only one person making drinks and one cashier at 4:30 PM on a Wednesday. Yes, it's convenient to have more boba options in downtown, but parking in downtown is never easy. T4 is definitely one of the higher quality boba places in Davis, but it is new and I think they're still trying to figure it out. I've been to the T4 in Sacramento, and the tea flavor is much stronger, which I like. I got the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with Boba, and it was pretty good. Like I said, better than a lot of the other options for boba in Davis, but I think they can make the tea flavor a little stronger. I do like that they use REAL TEA, which is not the case for all of the boba places in Davis. I am personally not a fan of powdered milk tea and I can tell when it is. I also enjoyed the consistency/cook of their actual tapioca, which I found perfectly chewy. Again, I'd associate it to them having just opened, but the service was a little slow. It didn't seem busy, yet I waited quite a while for one drink. Not a huge deal, but also not impressive. At least they have free wifi and a pretty hip seating area to keep you occupied while you wait? Ultimately, this place isn't bad, and I'd definitely revisit it. My favorite boba place in Davis! I find their Jasmine milk tea has the best taste out of all the boba places in Davis and the texture of the pearls rarely disappoints. They also have my favorite popcorn chicken. Its not overly spiced and has always been cooked perfectly. Overall the interior is clean and well lit. There are four person tables throughout and in the back there is a lounge area with couches, which makes for a relaxing atmosphere to hang out with friends. From Monday-Thursday it's a good place to study although there are only a couple outlets. I wouldn't recommend studying here on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday as it can get quite busy and loud. The location is a little difficult as it's in the middle of downtown where parking is scarce and only two hours but it makes for great place to stop by after dinner to socialize with friends. This is one of my favorite boba places in Davis. I typically order pretty standard drinks (black milk tea with boba) and they always get it right. Every boba place has a different scale of sugar. T4 runs on the less sweet side. So if you typically enjoy a less sweet drink I would suggest going up a percent increment. In my experience it's perfect that way. read more

Wow! I'm a little bit astounded by the fact that this place opened just recently (~3 weeks ago or less?) and the stars are only at 3 stars! Although this place has just opened, every time I visit there is always a crowd seated around. The workers are always swamped with so many orders, but they're still friendly and patient with orders, which I adore. I've gotten a lychee smoothie here, and it tasted like any other lychee smoothie, although it was a little weirdly hard at the beginning and sadly a little too runny at the end. I usually opt for earl grey at other t4s, and this one has a decent earl grey too! Even though I ordered a drink five minutes before it closed one time the staff were still really friendly and accommodating which I was really relieved about. I feel like this T4 doesn't have as many drinks as the other chains, but maybe that's just me. There isn't hella variety but there is still a drink to choose every time I come here! The wait for a drink isn't particularly long but it's definitely not quick either. My friends were pleasantly surprised when there were games here, which I also enjoyed. The furniture and the layout of the joint are nice and clean and I enjoy sitting here! Although there is wifi it isn't a very good spot to do homework or study because it's so loud and all us college kids are out socializing at this place. T4 has always been in my top boba frequented places, but this one might have to shine a little bit brighter for me to visit it more than Gongcha and Mandro. Yesterday, I was on my way to take my daughter for Boba Tea on E street, but realized the shop we used to go to was permanently closed. Luckily, we happened to park right next to the sign for T4 (sister store in Sacramento), and discovered that they had their "soft opening" the day before! The shop is very modern and crisp in it's layout, with all the aqua/teal hues, and boasts quite a bit of seating, as well as a small outdoor patio. It's a bit hidden from the street however, inside the courtyard of Mansion Square, a commercial complex on the corner of E and 2nd street. My kiddo was delighted to find a larger than life (taller than her) Connect 4 game in the store that you could play while you wait for your tea. There was also a number of board games to play with in between studying. The boba tea menu was extensive, more options than I've seen in a long time, toppings like Aloe, Red Bean, Lychee Coconut, Pudding, Grass Jelly, Agar Pearls, Fig Jelly, Rainbow Jelly, Coffee Jelly, Coconut Jelly and traditional pearl (boba). One of the options I thought was great, was the ability to request the level of ice cubes, 100%, 80%, 30% or 0% (no ice) depending on your preference, as well as adjusting the sweetness level. I typically order a traditional milk tea with boba pearls, but it was a hot day and wanted something without milk and a little more refreshing, so I went for the Grapefruit Royal Tea ($2.95), 30% "Little Bit Sugar", regular ice, pearls (+$.50), and OMG, it's my new favorite. Super refreshing with little bits of real grapefruit pulp was the perfect treat on a hot day. My daughter got a Strawberry Lemon Smoothie ($3.75) with pearls ($.50) which turned out to me more of a slushy, as I don't think there was any dairy, but it was also refreshingly good! I can't wait to go back and try the Taiwan Classics like, Ginger Milk Tea, Winter Melon Lemon, Kumquat Lemon and Elegant Rose. The place is super cute! The shop looks really small from outside but when you come in you're faced with a large area. The lighting is on point and the music isn't too loud so you can study here! There's also a lounge area in the back to hang out with a large group of friends. I got a honey peach royal tea 50% sugar, 80% ice and its the perfect amount of sweetness, for me at least. They have different stamp cards than other locations which kind of sucks but its okay, its not a huge deal! I love other T4 locations and I'm glad to say that I'm not disappointed by this one. THE ADVENTURE OF THE EGG PUFF: I knew I had to try the egg puffs and I eagerly awaited for 45 minutes...lining up to order and waiting afterwards...time that seemed stretched into eternity by my yearning of egg puffs. When I finally cradled the treat in my arms...a confectionary that looked like giant bubble wrap-shaped waffle, and had that fist bite...the insides of the bubbles yielded a dense, doughy, flavorless undercooked batter. Maybe I didn't understand what egg puffs were supposed to be like, maybe having the consistency of cookie dough is the point. But I asked the staff and they were kind to make me another one. To their credit, the staffer who remade the egg puff stood in front of the waffle iron and it stared down the whole time, willing it to summon the perfect batch. And if you're wondering how I have time to write all of this, it's because I'm waiting for my replacement and it's been half an hour...they gave away that waffle to another customer who ordered and started making it again, so I'm still waiting and puffless. Long story short, I got the redone egg puff, and each "puff" STILL had undercooked dough. I know it ISN'T supposed to be this way because there were some puffs that were perfect...round, light, fluffy, crispy and no dough. But most of the puffs looked like popped bubble wrap...deflated due to the undercooked dense dough inside. If this is on purpose, then I would suggest you not to get the egg puff. If it just happened to be a bad batch, I think the establishment needs to make an adjustment to their batter recipe so that it yields fluffier and crunchier egg puffs. I went here for the first time with my family of six (two adults and four kids). The store has a generous amount of space for my 8 and 6 year old kids plus infant twins in a double stroller to hangout. I appreciate that the store offer free WiFi and board games for adults and kids entertainment. The drinks and snacks are very good! For drinks, we ordered the earl gray milk tea with grass jelly and boba, panda milk tea and brown sugar milk tea. The sweetness levels are true to taste and the toppings tasted very fresh. For snacks, we got fries, mozzarella cheese sticks and mini spring rolls. All of them came to us piping hot. Definitely a big big plus. Overall experience for us was very pleasant. This is the BEST place to get milk tea in Davis! Although T4 is a chain, I really enjoy the taste of the teas here. All the teas are brewed from loose leaf- there's nothing powdered in the base. I like tasting the bitter tea flavor mixed with sweetness from milk so my go to is the Green Tea Sea Crema/Milk Foam. They also have matcha with fresh milk or matcha milk foam, which is great because I can taste the matcha green tea in them. I can tell that it's a higher quality matcha. The workers are always nice and helpful and will even remake your drink if you don't like it. I like to study here sometimes and also hang out with my friends and play board games. And like an airport (in a metaphorical sense) , t4 prides itself on providing an overwhelming selection of drinks and snack foods. Sometimes when I'm exhausted from work, the simple process of ordering can feel like a daunting task :/ Decor 3/5: As I stated earlier, the decor is... Airport - esque. Streamlined designs with a radiant turquoise theme. Not terrible, but a little underwhelming. Feels like ur hanging out at an airport lounge waiting for ur flight to... Taiwan haha. Also the floor always seems to be quite nasty tbh lol Quality 3/5: taste is decent, maybe a 2/5 if ur a city person. As a Taiwanese American who grew up on boba, I find most teas to be mediocre, nothing special, typical powder/syrup drinks. I like the earl grey personally but it's not anything special. I am updating this review because twice I ordered 30% sweet the drink came out to be way too sweet. WOW this has become my FAV boba place! Every boba I've had and my friends had was good! milk teas are high quality, they actually are milky and have enough tea flavor.
