Okay, you don't come to this T4 location expecting clean tables, good customer service, and amazing drinks. But for some reason T4 always holds a soft spot in my heart for all the memories that I've made here getting boba and food with my friends. I always come here for boba and takoyaki. Is it the best? No, but if you wanted high quality boba/food you probably wouldn't come here in the first place. It satisfies my craving and service is reasonably fast. The reason why customer service is lacking and the place is kind of dirty is because the employees are all teenagers, and I feel like the owner doesn't care enough to monitor them nor tell them to clean the place... probably just cares that they keep the place running tbh. The employees' hygiene is also sketchy too, from what I've noticed. But I don't see them doing anything extremely grievous. The boba is always the right texture for me, not too soft nor bland. The takoyaki is hot and crispy, and they give you a reasonable portion for the price. The place is very consistent. This is a typical boba place; it's not the best but I still like it. Space: There isn't that much space here. There are two tables outside and about 6 inside. Service: The people who work here are usually teenagers from the local high school. Price: It is about $5 per boba. Food: Their food is pretty good, their fried tofu and egg puffs are more popular. Notes: They water down the drinks a lot and often times I seem to find myself drinking water. I have asked them before to fix It but because of how busy It is their drinks still don't taste the way It should, they used to be better but now they don't seem to care. I have been going to this place for past year and an half regularly and I simply hate the service. The girls at the front desk are rude and at times mock you. I wish someone took a note of this and reprimanded the girls. They will often mess up the order and when you tell them that you wanted no ice in your boba drink - they will start talking to each other in native language and ignore you. Drinks are overpriced- I would recommend Boba Guys to T4 if one is seeking quality drink. Since Boba guys have opened in Lot Center, I have stopped going to T4. read more

I thought I'd come in after dinner for a quick drink. I walked up to the counter and the cashier was completely monotone and showed no emotion. I told her my order and when she mentioned my total I could barely hear the girl so I asked "Sorry what was that?" and all she did was stare at me like okay... Anyways after I handed her my card she quickly slid it and slammed it on the table along with the receipt and pen. Talk about the worst customer service. I can tell you right now that I'll never come to this location again. Also, this place is disgusting. The floor is stained and sticky and there's garbage everywhere. This shop is just okay in my opinion, nothing too special about their drinks. I am definitely not the biggest fan of their drinks just because their sugar consistency being changed can really change the entire make up of the drink. Ordered ahead and got a mild Popcorn chicken, it was ready in 6 minutes -- yay! Lady was very nice but a bit slow on the register. Tasted just like any other T4, thumbs up for flavor consistency. Didn't get a chance to try any drinks but maybe one day... Will be back again. This location is probably going to replace the Fallon location as my go-to T4 location! read more

Ever since T4 replaced quickly my coworkers and I have been constant clients. Every encounter with the cashier has been pleasant until the one today. I was helped by Alexis I gave her my order and she must have been in a bad mood because when it came to giving me my receipt to sign she threw it at me. Fine I get it, it's busy, understood. What really bothered me is when she asked if I wanted a bag for my three drinks, to which I said yes. She proceeded to shove the bag at me. Had I not been aware of her mood my drinks would have fallen and spilled. The other person I was with noticed this as well. I've had nothing but great experiences with everyone else during other business hours, always polite, efficient and non condescending. I've been coming to this T4 location since they first opened, and I'd say that on a great day I have an experience worth 4.5 stars and on a bad day, around 3. Overall, I would give T4 3.5 stars. Recently, however, I would say that T4's service, accompanied by its selection of toppings, earns it closer to a 3, unfortunately. I've been back in San Ramon visiting from college and every evening for three nights in a row, T4 has run out of a topping I wanted to order. Tonight, I was even charged for my red bean topping after asking the cashier if they'd run out of any toppings (all she said was the small tapioca), only to be called back to the register immediately after paying to learn that they had actually run out of red bean as well. I had to substitute that topping with something else and I was SO disappointed. Not sure if management is aware but the employees have certainly noticed an increased volume of customers this week, and it's because many college students are back home for their spring break. From my perspective, if this increasing demand is noticeable enough, and if T4 is constantly running short on toppings each evening, perhaps there are ways to solve this problem. I understand that the solution may not be that simple but it's very frustrating to seldom successfully order something that is both readily available and on the menu. Anyhow, aside from my recent disappointment, I'm actually very fond of T4. I think that the customer service is very hit-or-miss but when there's enough toppings I always have a good experience. I'm pissed at this place. First of all, I waited in a short line for 30 minutes which clearly shows they don't have their act together. Then finally my friends and I got to order. I was #22 and my 3 friends were 19, 20, and 21 so I thought I would get my order in the next couple minutes. I ordered a drink and 3 food items so I knew it would take a while, but it ended up taking an hour to get my food. I watched number by number go and I kept checking up on my order every 5-10 minutes but it still didn't come out. Finally when the next order number was 60, I got my order. And you would that if you waited an hour for some fast food then it better be some of the best fast food you've every tasted in your life. Wrong. The food was below average and I've definitely had better food at other locations. Overall terrible experience, and I might not go back their ever again after that. read more

T4 is on a major Bay Area domination quest for boba lately! They had their grand opening yesterday (3/30/2016), coinciding with T4's on Mission Blvd (Fremont) as well. DRINKS: The drinks, especially fruit black teas, are definitely on the sweeter side than some other boba places out there. Be prepared to downgrade your sweetness level if you're a fan of picking out natural tea flavors over sweet, sweet syrup. The milk tea seems to be more bearable in terms of sweetness. I do like the chewy, plump, and decently sweet pearls though. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I won't discount the idea of the newness of the place, but the person helping me out didn't really answer my or my friend's questions about the drinks... I asked what apple royal tea had in it, and the cashier responded, "Apple and royal tea." It would've been nice to get a more useful response. LOCATION: It helps that this T4 is newer and in a nice neighborhood. The place is a little hard to find and buried in a residential community. Google Maps navigation will confuse you; if eastbound, make a left on Dougherty Rd instead of making a U-turn on S Wedgewood Rd. Be prepared to drive a little bit away from the main area of San Ramon to get here. CONSISTENCY: What T4 does best is the consistency of their drinks, branding, and customer experience, among each of their store locations - and this place is no exception to that: Their interior tea-infused wall decor. The quality and taste of their drinks. The availability of board games. Even the types of chairs and tables they use at each location. I cannot even remember what was here before T4 but the drinks pale in comparison. Initially I was skeptical about t4 having gone to the Alcosta one once and not feeling a whole lot of separation from other places, however I have gone here multiple times in one week for their milkshakes since their ingredients taste fresh and authentic compared to using powdered flavoring for the drinks. This is a welcome addition to the Safeway plaza here. Busy in the evenings w a ton of kids but they are pretty fast. I've been here twice. Both times there were lots of people. I ordered the Regular sized Royal Fresh Milk Tea with big boba. No sugar and 30% ice. Loved it! Tea wasn't too strong otherwise I'd have a caffeine withdrawal with headache next day. Boba was perfect chewiness. I like how they have the option of regular-size. I also ordered the Basil Popcorn Chicken Level 1 spicy. It was fried perfectly. Not too much batter. Decent priced too. I docked 1 star from my overall review was bc there was no single basil leaf to be seen in my Basil Popcorn Chicken. Maybe they should have a disclaimer saying that basil included when available/season. So I think the name was a little misleading. 2nd time I went there I ordered their starred item (a star next to the item means it's popular) Pearl Milk Tea. Again I ordered with no sugar and 30% ice. Husband liked it but I preferred the Royal Fresh Milk Tea one. I'd definitely go back. I went to this location for the first time in several months. They were never really great at customer service, even before the pandemic. Today I stood inside for several minutes without any eye contact or acknowledgement. Finally the male employee looked up and I waved hi. He ignored me (granted we were both wearing masks.) He had seen that the door was left open from the previous customer who walked out shortly after I had walked in. He stopped making drinks, closed the door with his hands, walked past me again and went back to handling the drinks without washing his hands! He was not wearing gloves. I walked out without ordering. This is so sad to me because I always tip well and feel like I give stores much more patience now than ever before. I went on Friday and today to take advantage of the $2 deal for large drinks, including one topping. As expected, the line on Friday was very long, going out of the store. I ordered the Jasmine Milk Green Tea with small pearls (no more large pearls T_T), and my mom got the Taro Milk Tea. My drink tasted the same as usual, nothing surprisingly good or bad, but my mom's was pretty much flavorless and lacking in sweetness. It tasted like a watered-down version of the regular Taro Milk Tea, which was super disappointing. Despite this average first impression, we went back today and got drinks for the whole family. My dad and brother got the Lychee Black Tea with aloe, I got the Oolong Tea topped with cream, and my mom gave the Taro Milk Tea a second chance (this time, there were large pearls). My dad's and brother's drink was pretty good; I honestly can't remember much about it. Mine was good, too, but I wasn't a fan of the smokey aftertaste. Also, it didn't even come with cream! This time, my mom's tea tasted normal, which was awesome, because I love the milkiness and nuttiness of the taro flavor. Because of the inconsistency in the Taro Milk Tea and the lack of cream on my drink, I give this T4 three stars. I stopped here on a whim, and I'm so glad I did! This place has the BEST boba I've ever had, and I've been to probably over 30 boba places to date. I ordered a large Elegant Rose Aloe tea with additional boba pearls, standard sweetness and 0% ice, and a Basil Popcorn Chicken. The rose tea was just the right amount of sweetness, and had little pieces of real rose petals in it. The aloe jelly was super yummy, as were the boba pearls. I really loved how refreshing and light the whole drink was, and could have drunk a whole gallon of this tea. I HIGHLY recommend it. The popcorn chicken was just ok. It stayed crispy the entire time I was eating it, which was awesome because popcorn chicken has a tendency to get soggy and soft after a few minutes, which completely ruins it. The popcorn chicken here didn't do that - it remained deliciously crispy the whole time. On the other hand, despite the fact that I specially ordered it to be NOT spicy at all, it definitely still had a quick to it. The space itself is nice and clean, and the chairs and tables are comfortable. I remember when this location used to be a different boba place, under a different name, and their furniture was all metal and plastic, so sitting and waiting for your drinks/food was very uncomfortable. All in all, I highly recommend this tea place and this specific branch of it in particular. This store replaced the Quickly, and it's a huge improvement. You can order sweetness and ice levels to your liking. There are many options but it's not overwhelming, like Quickly. There were probably 5 people working up front, including the cashier, and service was brisk. While we were there (around 5pm on a weekday) there was a constant line of students and young families coming through, but employees moved the line so quickly that it was fine. Fresh Milk Tea: Whole milk, 80% sugar and 80% ice! I don't like the non dairy creamer that most boba places use, but I understand that some people can't tolerate lactose. The tea strength is good but could be stronger. Next time I may ask for a bit more tea. The boba itslef is really good - soft, chewy and sweet, just like I prefer, although it may be too sweet for some folks. I think if you order the drink less sweet, this helps offset the boba's sweetness. Chicken: They do a fabulous job with their fried chicken pieces! The coating is light and very flavorful, the chicken isn't too fatty, and the "mild" spiciness level is perfect for me - just a hint. I used to consistently enjoy drink milk tea from this location ever since they opened. However, the last time I went here, I drank some milk tea with grass jelly and I became ill. I vomited at 5 in the morning. This was followed with 3+ days of dizziness, diarrhea, headaches, and indigestion. T4 is the best, and in a very convenient location. I love stopping by on a hot day or while the sun is going down to grab a quick bubble tea drink. Whenever I walk in, though, I feel like I am going into a high school hangout... I usually go for the Passion Fruit Smoothie with boba, and occasionally I try a new flavor. So far, nothing has beaten passion fruit for me. The staff are usually pretty nice to me. My Kung Fu teacher works a part time job at T4, so he is usually nice to me. The service is sometimes slow, but the quality of the food and drink recieved makes it worth the while. Their egg puffs are very delicious. I love the variety of flavors, but I must say Chocolate is the best..... I also like how you can choose the sweetness and amount of ice in your drink. Got my jasmine tea, 80% sweet. Holly crap, the drink seriously has no tea flavor whatsoever and it taste like water and milk.... so bad. This is the second time already. Worse than quickly. Came here w friends and they ran out of ginger tea so I had the rose aloe tea. Surprisingly good and did not taste overwhelmingly like flowers :) overall similar experience to other bubble tea shops, you can specify drink temperatures, sugar amount, additions like pudding and pearls, and ice amount. T4 definitely beats the Quicklys that once occupied this plaza. Parking is relatively easy to find and it's usually not too crowded. I've been to other T4s in San Jose and another in San Ramon but this one is closest to home and is a very convenient place to go when I'm craving milk tea. It's a lot smaller than the one is SJ but food/drinks are relatively the same. The popcorn chicken w/ basil is delectable and has the perfect amount of spice and crunchiness so I highly recommend getting it and a drink to pair with. My go to order is Earl Grey milk tea with egg pudding and pearls and T4 exceeded my expectations. I usually base how good a place is on how well they make their pearls and T4 does a pretty good job. My only complaint was that they ran out of normal sized pearls once & my drink came with tiny, miniature pearls that were no bueno! Also DO NOT order peppermint milk tea unless you're into that toothpaste after taste. An unfortunate lesson I had to learn the hard way. read more
