This restaurant is really really nice. But hard to find. Tip on how to get there. Walk into Star Diamond Jewelry store go to the back and take the elevator to 3R and the restaurant is right there. Anyways the restaurant is beautiful. There are really nice murals decorating the walls. The waitress was really nice. She even gave me a candle for my piece of cake cause it is my birthday. But there was no one there when we were there not sure if it was cause it was Tuesday night maybe they have a bigger crowd at lunch or later on in the week. But people are really missing out that don't come here. The food was so delicious. And the prices are pretty reasonable. It isn't over priced for a meat restaurant (especially for Manhattan). And they even offer Prime Rib if you are looking for that.. but it is expensive. But besides things like the Prime Rib you can get most entrees here for $20-$30. And I highly recommend the borscht which will run you $7. But it's worth it.

Came in for lunch - place was empty/ cute/ staff nice- it is on the second floor in the jewelry district 47th st. We got - large babaganoush - good - large Israeli salad - good but lots of lettuce still would get again (real Israeli salad doesn't add lettuce) - beef lula kebab 2 skewers w vegetable side - lula good was a bit cold like rewarmed - vegetable side was bland - shawarma Lafa - good bread a bit heavy - I like thinner lafa and prefer fries on side - shawarma plate - great shawarma was also reheated but good- not much oil which I like Would love to see more healthy sides on the menu They didn't offer Chinese food would love to come and try it - came in for it originally Menu was a bit sticky needs a cleaning Cute place nonetheless - good for what I was looking for

This diamond-in-the-rough of sorts is nestled on a third floor building in nonetheless diamond district. Lepeshka was soft. It would have been better if it was served with butter. Uzbelk Pilaf was interestingly flavorful. Beef Stroganoff came out without the cream that I was expecting. It was good but has the potential to be great. A gem in the string of Eastern European food block.

Walk down the stairs in a central part of Manhattan and enter a different world with colored lights on the ceiling and windows painted with scenes from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. To feee a family of three, including our nine-year-old daughter, we ordered the chicken plov, langman, beet caviar, and the kids mini dumplings. Everything tasted great, but the winner was the langman. The passion fruit and mango lemonade was refreshing. (Note: It's carbonated.) We ordered the mini umka puffs (three beef and two cheese), and they were very oily and soggy on the bottom. The beef filling was mostly salt and pepper with no real depth of flavor, plus lots of fat and gristle. The cheburek was almost the exact same experience -- same filling, same sauce, and again not very tasty. The Uzbek plov was also very, very oily. The meat in that dish was better than the others, but overall it still lacked flavor. The steak manti was honestly close to inedible. It tasted bad, very fatty, and what initially seemed like juicy filling inside turned out to just be condensation water. The Kazan kebab was especially disappointing because the picture on their website looks incredible. In reality, it looked nothing like the photos -- the meat was basically boiled, extremely fatty, and pretty unpleasant. Thankfully, the tender beef short ribs were the best thing we ordered. The meat actually had flavor, and the potatoes were good. The lemonade was also very good. I went in expecting Uzbek food to be less heavily spiced than other cuisines, which is completely fine, but this was beyond that -- the food just felt low quality and poorly executed. For four people, with only one lemonade and no alcoholic drinks, the bill came to about $260, which felt insanely expensive for the quality we received. The atmosphere was nice, but the basement dining area was also extremely hot and uncomfortable. Overall, this place did not live up to the hype. Check the pictures for the dishes we ordered.

I was brought here by my friend (and her family) as she recommended the place, and she came pretty often. I would say that my friend sometimes has interesting taste, but so far her recommendations have been really solid. Since my friend brought me here, I just took whatever she recommended, as she took command of all ordering. This was great for me, since I opened the menu and was like... wow, I don't even know what is good. So I just sat back and *attempted* to listen to what was going on. We ended up getting hot tea with lemon, beef skirt kebab, lamb kebab, samsa, cheburek with meat, and a few other things I'm not quite sure about. She just ordered, and honestly, I just ate everything she threw at me. The samsas were delicious! They were super flaky, and the meat was well seasoned and super juicy. The samsa were also quite hefty, they fill you up if you eat too many. It reminded me of the homemade ones my friend used to give me. Next up, the cheburek with meat. This was a first for me, and my friend said it was a must get. She was completely right... we ended up getting a 2nd order of this. It was super light, compared to everything else we ordered, as it is only filled with a bit of meat. The dough is fried to perfection, it was a bit crispy, soft, and didn't feel oily. It came with what I assume is a tomato sauce, which pairs well with it. We also got a few of the beef and lamb kebabs, and they were also delicious. The beef tasted better than the lamb, but my friend says that is just depends on the day. So I guess it depends on who is cooking that day? But the beef was super juicy, and it was well seasoned. The lamb was also good, but it just wasn't as yummy as the beef skirt. Overall, I really like everything here and I look forward to my next trip back to NY.

Ordered the big plate chicken that comes with homemade noodles. The chicken is flavorful and the noodles are the perfect accompaniment. Love the texture of the noodles. Nice and chewy. We loved the lamb skewers. Generous portion for $4.99. Tasted like quality meat with the perfect combo of lean and fat. The baked buns are actually meat pies baked with phyllo dough. I love phyllo dough and the filling was very tasty but would have preferred more filling as it washer dough heavy. I love milk tea so I had to order the Nurlan milk tea. Huge portion. Literally came in a bowl. Found it tasteless. Service here is friendly and fast.

Incredible Uyghur food not just for Flushing standards but for the entire city as a whole…read more Everything here is halal so that's a nice plus. Went with a group on a Thursday evening, and the place is fairly small with about 10 or so tables. There was only one server but since there was only one other occupied table, this wasn't an issue. Service was prompt and friendly and our server was willing to explain things to some in our group who weren't very familiar with Uyghur cuisine. The space also had nice vibes, clean with understated and tasteful decor on the walls. We had to get the special laghman because this spot is known for that, and you get the option of either lamb or beef. We ordered both varieties and they were both delicious. The meat was tender and they're loaded with fresh vegetables, with the mushrooms being a highlight. The sauce in particular was incredibly rich and savory and I was tempted to get an additional order of noodles on the side just to enjoy the sauce some more. It was that good. Others in our group ordered the stir fried noodles which I got to try; it wasn't saucy like the laghman but it was equally delicious. We also ordered the lamb dumplings, which was probably the weakest dish of the night. They weren't bad, and for $15 you get a large plate of them, meant to be shared or enjoyed as an entree. It's just that for the area you can get better dumplings for a cheaper price. I probably wouldn't order these again when I return, but the chili oil and black vinegar elevated them a bit. But the real highlight of the night had to be the lamb kebabs, spelled kawap here, served on skewers. They are $5 a pop, so they're not exactly cheap but they are worth every penny. Grilled and seasoned to perfection with tender meat, I genuinely think these are the best lamb kebabs I've had in the city, and I've had a lot from dining at many Middle Eastern restaurants. These blow them all away. If you visit, make sure to get one or two skewers for yourself along with your entree. Finally we had some milk tea, served in a bowl and not a cup like you might expect. It was rich, decadent, a little salty, and a great way to end a great meal. All in all, loved my experience here and I'm eager to go back.

We were all looking forward to the delicious food but what sealed the deal was the belly dancing! French Fries with mushrooms I really enjoyed all the food but there were two standout dishes: Manty with meat and Pelmeni with Lagman Soup. These were outstanding, and I would return just for these two items. The kebabs were really good; some better than others, but overall, very good. Surprisingly, the veal liver was a hit! Service and hospitality were fantastic! So friendly and accommodating. We were even able to bring our own birthday cake and liquor, with no additional service charge. I must add that the dining room was really beautiful (my photo really doesn't do it justice). I'm already planning on a return visit in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to go back! What a treat!
