All the meat is frozen, very limited selection. You can get Somali spices, bread and other Somali things here.

I'm going to work on sending another email to Mike Johnson head of Kroger and the lady who was in charge of Fred Meyer I can't remember her name to see if we can still get bags with handles on them. Safeway has plastic bags and they have handles and that way you can carry six bags at once instead of just one or two.

The shoes, white short sleeve button up shirt with a blue tie and navy blue or black slacks to match! I was a courtesy clerk at 16 when there was etiquette, training and most definitely strict representation of the store's brand! No matter who you asked from the bagger to the manager, if they worked there, they knew where literally everything was located and if something was out of stock! Nowadays I get a lot of confused looks or "I don't know" and they walk off without attempting to assist! Nowadays you're lucky if you can find 1 committed, hard-working courtesy clerk at any store! To...I digress, let's get it! I initially ordered their 4 piece for $5 and a 1/2 lb of JoJo's. The 1st associate was very welcoming, sincere and thoughtful when picking out the 4 pieces. She'd just saved me a coupon and a trip to kfc for a $5 2 piece meal! As I was leaving there was a man at the door asking for change for food, I searched my pockets and found nothing so I said that I had nothing, he thanked me anyway. I went to my truck to see if I had any change there, I didn't so I went and gave the man my 4 piece and JoJo's and went back inside and ordered another for myself...this was the other associate. I ordered the same thing and she gathered it but not taking time to check the food for what's freshest and what's not like the previous associate had done. I came home and immediately regretted not saying anything; over 1/2 the jojo's were hard and stale! The pieces of chicken she choose weren't any better! Some weren't even hot, but they're all sitting in the warmer together so how is that?! It's the end of the day, I get it. It's a busy mother's Day, I get it. Customer satisfaction is your job...Get it?! Do Better!! To the initial associate: Thank you for your dedicated service! The man in need got some well selected fresh chicken for dinner and I'm grateful for that!

I drove all the way to Burien to check out PCC's marketplace. It was about an hour from my home,…read moreand there's no PCC community market south of Seattle that I know of. So, I made the trip to get Upton's Traditional Seitan and just explore the store. They have a variety of good options, especially for those who create their own meals and like to use whole-grain ingredients. The store is compact, but it offers a wide variety of products. You can purchase assorted nuts by the ounce, or packaged options. They also have a selection of fruits, vegetables, a hot bar, a deli section, and kombucha. I noticed that many of the brands they carry have fewer ingredients, less artificial flavoring and sugars. I visited this store specifically to purchase seitan, and I ended up buying a couple of packages for $5.29 each, which I find to be a reasonable price. I couldn't find this brand at any other store, but I chose it because it has minimal ingredients, low fat and sodium content, and a generous amount of protein at 2 ounces. Many processed foods have a long list of ingredients and oils, which makes them unhealthy and fatty. As a vegetarian who is trying to eat cleaner, I appreciate this product. I also tried the Brew Doctor kombucha, which usually costs $2.50. However, they have a special offer where you can buy two bottles for a discounted price. The kombucha is very light and refreshing, not overpowering with vinegar or sugar. Overall, it's worth the drive to get this product. I'll definitely be coming back for it and other products in the future.

*Newest Update: I received a call back from the manager…read morewith the dismissive demeanor staying that he'd reviewed the register footage and says he saw me take the receipt and my change and put it in my left pocket. I'll have to request access to the footage; I could've lapsed and be wrong but I highly doubt it with change from a 100 dollar bill! I've checked the pockets on my pants and thoroughly searched my truck and there no qfc receipt or cash aside from the $6 I leave in my ashtray.* You know how when you go to your local QFC and you see friendly familiar faces and it makes you feel good to shop there even if the p process are a bit stiff. Today was a huge cluster of...just awkwardness and unfortunate circumstance. Typically after 6pm the daily donuts are discounted; they're considered day old...which makes sense to me! As I'm checking out, the 3 donuts I was purchasing rang up @ $17.99, I asked the self checkout clerk about the price of the donuts after 6pm and she said she didn't know, nor did she refer to a co-worker for confirmation. She just voted the $17.99 and charged me $1.89 each for essentially day old donuts...after 6pm! I was taken back and slightly frustrated and I'm the process of paying cash I forgot to grab my change for the bill I used. I didn't realize it until I was in my rig at the light about to turn left...in that time someone‍ grabbed my change and took off. When I came back and inquired about anyone returning unclaimed change, I got 2 no's and a shrug. Then the black woman, whom I'm assuming was in charge, had a..." I could give a damn, that's what you get!" vibe. Am I surprised? No; shit happens when you're distracted, apparently the thief needed my change more than I did...God's Hands My miss the crew that usually works self checkout! UPDATE: After talking to a manager this morning with the same 'could care less' attitude as the lady from last night, I accept the fact that my change from my $100 payment will not be recovered and I accept the possibility of my change being taken by an employee...such is life. Committed customer service and Integrity is rare nowadays‍ I love the night crew at QFC's self checkout, unfortunately I won't be returning.

So when he said he…read morewanted to check out this new grocery store near southcenter, I was aghast to learn that there had been one under my nose this whole time. When he pulled into the parking lot, I knew exactly why I had missed it previously. Not only is the parking lot pretty narrow and single aisled, the concrete-blocked storefront itself is not obvious. I would assume it would be maybe the corporate office for the postal service or something similar. But definitely not a grocery store. With that being said, the storefront was clearly open and was easy to access. They had carts that were also easy to access, the aisles were clean and organized, although it was a 50/50 shot on value. It really depends on what you're looking for. But for the most part, protein sold in bulk was a great deal, along with other bulk goods like beans, pasta, grains, etc. I didn't really see that great of a discount on smaller individual items like spices or beverages, or even produce. Checking out was simple. Everyone made a single file line down and waited to cashiers to become available. Since the single file goes down the store to the right, it was difficult to see the cashiers. We waited about 10 minutes to be checked out. I'm not entirely sure if mostly working with other food service vendors and workers changes anything for the cashiers here, but I felt that it did lend a bit of a detached air from what you and I are used to in a more public grocery store. The employees, although they acknowledged everyone, were did not appear to manage the line (i.e.: calling out when a checker is ready, instead waiting for the customer to approach them), welcome or greet customers. They were having a few side conversations that halted traffic for a bit, but we have just arrived in time for a shift change, breaks, or something else similar. All in all, I felt the opportunity cost of all things given was enough to definitely return in the future. We made out like a bat out of hell with the bulk frozen ahi tuna and we'll be eating delicious dinner for the next couple weeks!

This was an open house for vendors that use us foods and I was invited and had tickets. For some odd reason this middle-aged dude was very interested in me and what I was doing. I saw him talking about me even and keeping an eye on me. Oddly enough he had no interest in the less than classy people whom brought their entire family, friends, even small children. The same person then approached again and called me a liar about where I worked (i did make something up because I thought he was making smalltalk, but i surely didnt need to justify my presense because no one else did)said "oh so you're just here for the free food " while im wearing $800 shoes and he looked his clothes came from the goodwill. At that point I laughed and walked away to leave. I went to grab my bag that was behind a table and some other member of the help said "dude you've had enough". The trailer park people shoveling food like hippos were never once talked to by anyone. I was watching to see. Clearly these members of the help have a problem with African American people. I will never shop at a US foods store and will tell my business owner friends whom are brown to do the same. I would like this very serious matter to be addressed ASAP.
