I just LOVE Tabb & Sparks! I've followed Michael throughout the years...probably the last 20! Even when I lived up North for 10 years, I flew down to see him. I didn't let anyone else cut my hair. He really is, that good! Michael's cuts are always so precise that I was able to wait longer between appts. It's not often I find anyone in any industry who is consistent with service and provides truly exceptional work, that I stay with for this amount of time! Nowadays, I just let him do whatever he thinks will give me that beautiful, gorgeous hair. He suggested I go short and cut about 5 inches, and I totally trusted him...and ever since it's been one of my fav cuts. You'll get many compliments after you see Michael!!! The same goes for Kristina who does my color, exceptional and consistent results. When she and Michael opened this salon, I had my color done by her. My hair is very difficult to color as Asian hair often is...when highlights are done. Every other colorist was inconsistent, even ones that were familiar with Asian hair. I never understood why the same colorist would have different results each time my hair was colored...sometimes the color would be super orange, brassy or red, not the caramel honey tone I requested but Kristina manages to get it right each time. She really listens and also remembers what I like. Michael and Kristina are the best duo and the front desk is always nice and friendly as well. read more

Typical LA overpriced salon with bad customer service. Stylist missed appointment and front desk let me sit there and only offered me an appointment 3 hours later. I'm very low key and understanding, but this ruined my Saturday morning. No offer of discount or other accommodation or helpfulness. Just three stylists laughing in the background as I politely said goodbye. I would recommend a more established and professional salon if you value your time. read more

I absolutely love this place! I have been seeing Kristina for years, now I followed her to the Westside to her very own salon because she truly is the blonde master!! As some of you know, she was trained by Tracy Cunningham, but she's developed a name on her own simply on her skills. I mean look at those before and after pictures on her Instagram! Total transformations! I have sent so many friends to her and they are hooked too. She's also a very honest business owner, some other stylists try to make you come back more often then you need to in order for them to make more money. I have gone to see Kristina twice to lighten my hair up. She's really skilled at what she does and is a great conversationalist. Both times my hair turned out beautiful. The second time, it came out a darker than I was aiming for (which she did tell me she would be making it a shade darker so that it would last longer and fade into a pretty color). After sitting with it for a couple of days, I realize that I wanted it to be lighter and messaged her to see if she had any suggestions on lightening it up. She offered me an appointment in a couple of days to get it to what I wanted, which really goes a long way in my book. Frank is a gem. I have thin/fine shoulder length hair that I've been box dyeing at home... I know. My hair is hard but ever since I've been going to Geank for my cuts my hair have life. His cuts and his color are impeccable. He's taken me from a ball of yarn to a sophisticated blunt cut bob with highlights that give my hair so much dimension and shape. He was professional, friendly, and hospitable. I was offered a clean fresh changing gown and a refreshment. As for my hair I have now gained a forever hair guru. Toru listened to my hair concerns and recommended a hair treatment that would be suitable for my upcoming beach trip. He was absolutely thorough and treated every strand. I was not happy with my experience. I was booked as a new customer with Frank and his prices were so extremely expensive and they did not let me know prior to the appointment. I talked to Frank about maybe wanting to dye my virgin hair because I am starting to get greys. I did not confirm that I wanted to do it. Booked an appointment to try a style for my daughter's wedding and for the day of the wedding. Got a call 2 hours before the appointment to tell me they were moving me to another stylist who was not available on the day of the wedding. When I explained that I'd booked so that I could have the same person for both appointments, they said fine and that they understood. Called me back 2 minutes later to tell me the price was more than double the price they had quoted when I made the appointment and that it could go as high as $500. It's hard to believe that this salon stays in business with these kind of shoddy practices. read more

Where do I start! Kristina is the best colorist I have ever come across! Three years ago when I first came to her I had damaged platinum blonde hair with a tons of breakage and fuse in extensions. After just one year of seeing her my hairs condition transformed and I was able to remove my extensions because my hair had grown to that same length! Three years later I have the healthiest thickest blondest hair I have ever had in my life and it's all thanks to her! I highly recommend. Other colorists used products that burned my scalp and to achieve proper results it would take 4-6 hours. With Kristina, I'm out in two and a half hours tops! She's the best! read more
