My friend took me here to try Indian food for the first time and I was blown away. As soon as you walk in the place smells amazing. Friendly staff and the menu was easy to order from. Everything we ordered was seasoned perfectly and the spice level took it to the next level. You HAVE TO ORDER THE BUTTER CHICKEN. The garlic naan bread is so fresh they make it as you order and it goes so well with everything. I also didn't have to wait very long for the food to come out and the restaurant was pretty packed, that's how you know it's good and authentic! Considering this was my first time trying Indian food, it was amazing and I couldn't stop thinking about it all week. We had a lot of food left over even and the next day it all tasted even better! 10/10 recommend this hidden gem.

Finally got to try this place I seem to always go when they close for a bit but I went earlier and this place is so good . The waiter was nice and she recommend one of the popular chicken dishes and it was bomb got some Nan and a mango yogurt drink the portion was big . I love the dishes the food is served on and they give a complementary chai tea that was so good too . It wasn't to busy for lunch they sat us down right away . And something really unique was when your leaving there's this sweet herbal for a pallet cleanse was so good . I'll be coming back again .

Have been here many times since it has opened, and this place has never disappointed us. This is a great addition to the Happy Valley area and would highly recommend. Here are my takes: Food/Drinks: Everything that I have tried here has been good. Believe it or not garlic naan is the best of any Indian restaurant that I have tried (curries, appetizer, lassi, bread, biryani) etc. Curries are very delicious and close to authentic flavors. They do keep tea container in the restaurant that is complementary. Service: Good staff here and they do good in the overall experience. Not even a single time we saw a delay or any issues there. Ambiance: Small and squeezed seating but overall ambience is not you should be going here. It's just basic but that is not what this restaurant is trying to accomplish in my opinion. Everything is new including furnitures and restrooms. Hygiene: Overall cleaned but their restroom can be done better. Last visit had some restroom issues. Price: Very reasonably priced, not sure if this is soft launch prices or will stay like this forever but some of the dishes price will surprise you. For the value factor, this is a great restaurant.

Absolutely delicious!!! Like I usually would wait before making a review but this one couldn't wait! Everyone was really nice even though I literally call right before (1:41pm) they closed at 2:00pm (they reopen at 5pm). I asked if they were still open and said sure if you're taking it to go which I was!!!! I hadn't looked at the menu but I knew I would like goat if they had it which they did I got curry spice level 4 and it was spicy the I ordered Malai kofta also level 4 and to was deliciously spicy! Everything was hot and fresh! The space was very inviting and gave a your at home type vibe! Absolutely a 10 out of ten!!!

    81. Butter Chicken, Cheese Naan

The staff was friendly, the butter chicken was good, this all boils down to the deceptive advertisement of the cheese naan. It's described as "stuffed with cheese" and the picture on their website shows a nice amount of white cheese with a green garnish. The bread I got was so lack luster I thought someone had accidentally gave me the wrong bread. After going back I was informed that "they use a clear cheese making it hard to see". They also sprinkle it on, it is by no means "stuffed". I doubt they even add cheese to it in house, it seems to be just store bought cheese naan that's heated up with some oil added on. I'd be less upset if their website hadn't hyped it up so much, I've seen cheese naan that's actually loaded with cheese and this is definitely not it.

Ok This is my new favorite Indian restaurant. Service was very attentive and made excellent suggestions over the menu. The music was a vibe. I was singing along. You can order at the counter or dine in. We need more of this in Norterra.

A unique place with its own style. Clean, comfortable, with a friendly staff. If you like spicy, I highly recommend the Andhra chicken.

A girlfriend and I had a lovely patio meal on a quiet weekday, and I finally took some photos and committed to writing a nice review. Truth be told, this is at least my third visit so it's due. Friendly counter guy was patient and answered our many questions. I chose my favorite standard order, the chicken tikka masala with rice. After getting more details about the preparation I decided to try the mango side salad, too. I could not have been happier with my choices. The Tikka masala has a lovely ratio of meat to curry sauce and was a mild spice. Very creamy with tender chicken fully hot all the way through. The basmati rice is fluffy and seasoned perfectly the compliment the masala. The surprise star of this meal was the side mango salad! Tons of fresh spring mix lettuce, chunks of mango, shredded carrots and a delightful sweet dressing. It was very bright, with perfectly ripened fruit and crisp greens. This is not a small side salad, so it is definitely a high value bargain, and could easily be a meal with a protein added. GF ordered a paneer wrap with fries. She raved about the flavor, took two bites more bites of the wrap and then picked at the fries and confessed it was all going home for her son. GLP1 appetite? Anyway she ended up ordering a mango side salad for him to go, after we finished eating. I did taste a chunk of the paneer at her urging, the cheese was in small cubes, with a flavorful sauce. I prefer chicken myself. When the to go mango salad was ready, friendly counter guy brought it out to our patio table, and had a nice chat with us. An articulate upbeat good ambassador for the company, he was helping at our location for the day and was very positive about the Tikka Shack brand's future. I fully agree!

Went to Tikka Shack for their Tuesday special…read more Let me start off by saying the value for this place is great. At least on a Tuesday when you can get your choice of chicken, tikka or butter tikka plus rice and a drink and plain naan for around 12 bucks. They were not that busy when we came in around 4 PM. But it still took them over 20 minutes to get us our food Togo. You order from a screen - although the team is right there to answer any questions. They didn't greet me and were not friendly. They seem to be pretty standoffish and definitely not trained in a Customer Service. We tried both the butter, chicken and the tikka chicken. And got one regular naan and paid $1 extra extra try the garlic naan. I absolutely love garlic. And And would never pay the dollar extra again for the garlic naan it was not very good and not worth the up charge The butter chicken was surprising and ended up being my favorite over the regular tikka chicken. We also tried the masala fries (the fries themselves are slightly spicy but when you put the masala sauce on them, it tones it down) , which were incredible!!! And the coconut curry wings. It would've been nice to be warned that the coconut curry wings are extremely spicy. It did not mention that anywhere, and I was not expecting to have that level of heat. Also got the glub juman for desert. Don't sleep on this. It is so good!!! I should mention that for their drink selection, soda, wise they only have one of those Coke freestyle machines which I find disgusting (once you see what they look like on the inside and how they're never cleaned you would agree too) . I opted for one of the three teas that they had instead in a separate fountain thing. Overall, we will definitely be back just might order ahead of time on the app since the service is so slow... or rather non existent.

Dough was light and fluffy, filling was flavorful. Sauces were well done. Tandoori Chicken was very good, but they put raw onions on top instead of on the bottom so the vegetables didn't really get cooked well enough to eat. The chicken was delicious, well marinated, and tender. Excellent. We got a lamb curry which was well done but slightly on the salty side. We were missing depth of flavor there but the lamb was tender and juicy. The garlic naan was solid, and the Peshawari naan was almost like baklava! Very sweet. I liked it but the sweetness overpowered the flavors. A dessert more than a naan. Third dish was mixed vegetable in tomatoey/chana like sauce. Bland, wouldn't order again. They said their signature dishes are the Rogan Josh and Butter Chicken so we will try those next time. A solid choice for Indian fare!

There is nothing good around the area. Food is fine. I'd recommend a curry garlic naan and mango lassi. Extremely basic Indian food but that is what they do best. This place isn't authentic, the food isn't flavorful, and its not Indian fusion. But its an average Indian restaurant with moderately priced food. We'll be back. Not by choice but we'll be back. Oh bonus is a huge bar and the restaurant is always empty when I show up.
