    Barbershop in the back!

Taboga is such a nice little spot... the bar area has a nice set up... the big screen, the seatings and the pool tables are placed in a way that make the space look bigger than it is!!! However, they have to work on their team. The waitress had no idea what she was doing or how the business works; everytime my coworkers or I asked a question, she would tell us to give that she was going to find out... the girl did not even know what color sangria they had! She did not know at what time happy hour ended, what items (drinks/food) were included, what beers they had... like come on-- that should be like WAITRESS 101. The food was delicious! I got the chimi combo, which came with fries. The fries were to die for!!!! I would actually go back and order fries alone, HAHAHAHAHA; I sound so fat! The beers were nice and cold and the RED sangria was good too! This spot is basically whatever you make it... go with some friends and have a good time. My friends and I went after work, and it was nice!!!! This was the final spot we hit, after two others, and this is the one I liked the most.

A group of 3 of us arrived on a Sunday afternoon for brunch. Upon arrival we were immediately seated ( our waiter gave us a cup of mimosas as we were waiting for a friend to arrive once she arrived he started our 2 hour unlimited drinks). Surprisingly enough the drinks were good towards the end we switched to just champagne & they gave us the entire bottle). They also had sangria & rum punch. The food was a buffet style & they had a lot of variety. The music was also good. My only concern is that it's BRUNCH why is there a metal detector during brunch along with two security guards? There was a group of about 30 plus bikers that were coming inside & something occurred I think someone in the crew was "carrying", a mini augment occurred and they went to the spot next door. In general this is a cool spot for brunch.

Probably one of my favorite brunch spots thus far. We went here for my friends birthday and the food couldn't have been any more amazing. The price for everything we are paid for was definitely worth it. I ordered the steak and eggs and I loved it.

My friend made a reservation here for her birthday brunch and basically, it wasn't needed. Nobody was there yet we were there almost 4 hours because of the service. They were out of the champagne within 30 minutes and the new drinks were TERRIBLE. The mimosa was clearly made with cheap champagne and the sangria tasted like cough medicine. The waitress said she would go find more rose and disappeared for nearly an hour. Our food portions were all different from one another, some ppl got more servings than others. The mangu was nothing special nor was the salad. The waitress continued to disappear several times, having us get up to go to the bar to ask for even water. Did I mention the place was empty?? Once it was time to pay, we all put our credit cards in...you know...how almost everyone pays in this day and age and she THEN informs us they can't take cards and to use the ATM. Ah Who's going to pay the ATM fee? After telling us we can wait one hour for her manager who could do credit cards, it all the sudden worked out of the blue. Owner either owns the ATM and/or this is a shady business. After giving her 4 cards which I tell her to split she said she didn't understand and asked for me to do the math for her. What???? To say the least, 15% tip was included on each tap and nobody at the table tipped additionally. There is WAY better brunch spots in NYC and this one you can simply avoid.

So I came here because of a recommendation of this being a cool spot. Wow what a regret. I came here for a brunch bday celebration andddd you would think the fact it's a bday they would provide SOME service. No. Not the case. Our "unlimited drinks" or water or food was scarce. The mimosas tastes weird af and sangria taste like cough medicine. The food took 30 mins plus to get here, 30 mins to get your appetizer, 1 hour to get the entree. And through it all no drinks. Not even water. MIND YOU, WE ARE THE ONLY PPL HERE! Not done. When we go to pay they don't accept cards. What the actually fuck. They say their system was down and they can't do math so we did the math and they literally got confused that there were 4 cards. What? We just did the math for you! I am dying inside writing this.

Taboga is known for its brunches and that's exactly what we went for. The space is huge with flat screen TVs for the game and they have pool tables after 5pm. We were celebrating my friend's birthday. A buffet brunch and 2 hrs unlimited mimosas, sangrias or punch is what you get. We were waiting for friends to arrive and got some drinks at the bar ..$20 for a Hennessy and coke...okay moving along our waiter came to the table, greeted us and brought us water. We decided on the tasted all three and decided the punch was the best!!! They have hookah as well. The variety of food for brunch was great! They had so many things to choose from French toast, rice, beans, pernil, mangu, soup etc. The food was mouthwatering! They brought out a tres leche cake with a sparkler for the birthday person and the Dj gave her a shout out. The Dj plays an array of music to cater to all crowds. The ambiance is great I will definitely return !!

This was my second time at this spot, first time I had some complaints but I figured, whatever I was celebrating a friend's of mine birthday and did want to make a big deal. Couple of weeks back I also went for another friend's birthday. The brunch was decent, it was buffet style, wasn't too thrilled about that but whatever. So we decided to order our friend a bottle, we ask the waitress to bring the bill for the bottle separately because we didn't want to burden that on top of the brunch bill. She took very long doing so saying that the price of the bottle changed. I thought well I'm not paying more than what the menu says anyway. She finally brought it out about 20mins after, it was about $23 more but that was for tax and gratuity, fine. We get the check for our brunch bill and she charged us for 13 ppl, however there were only 12 ppl total in our party. Someone out of party did leave early but she settled her part of the bill prior. Yet, the waitress insisted that it was still 13, we got the manager involved and it was still chaos then the waitress recounted came back and then apologized. And "settled" the bill however the gratuity increased, okay. However, I noticed at the top of the bill it said "Morenas" meaning black girls in Spanish. Lol I thought that was super unprofessional and discriminatory to say the least. After we bring this to their attention the manager said the waitress was new. Little did they know two of us were Latinas, not that it makes a difference but that goes to show you, you never know so treat everyone with the same respect they deserve. Alright, so that makes it okay? We get the adjusted bill with "girls" at the top instead lol. And to add insult to injury they were supposed to bring the birthday girls cupcakes out with candles etc yet they bring it out in a bag exactly how she gave it to them. It was horrible experience and I wouldn't recommend this place to a soul.

Came here for a Sunday brunch with a reservation for 25 people at 1pm. The brunch buffet wasn't ready until 2pm for all guests, despite people arriving between 1-1:30. Drinks were decently strong, music was so fun and a good mix (latin & hip hop). The hookah was $30 per hookah with $20 refills (a little pricey in my opinion). Definitely would come back again for brunch!

Great crowd and really good music. I went there for brunch with a couple of people and we had an amazing time. Our waiter was very friendly and polite and the food was really good as well as the drinks. Definitely I will go back

My experience at the restaurant was good. Went with a group to celebrate a Sunday Brunch Birthday. We were all seated quickly as we had reservations. And our waiter introduced himself and let us know of our 2 hour bottomless drinks. We got on line for the buffet that was set up for the brunch, not many food options but just enough. Within the hour we decided to to get two hookahs and pricing in my opinion was not reasonable. And also just a FAIR WARNING: make sure there's always at least one person at your table cause they will give the table away to a new party if not attended to. Also the girls bathroom is a wait sometimes. Other than that everything else was good. And the atmosphere was lively and fun.

I've been to this place for both brunch and happy hour. Both experiences were great. I originally tried to go to brunch at another location in the neighborhood but the wait was too crazy so we popped in here without a reservation or anything and were taken care of right away. The hostess was extremely accommodating and friendly and provided great service. The food for brunch is delicious. Some days they have a buffet and others it's plated meals, all of which are delicious. The portions are large and the mac & cheese is amazing. You get options for brunch drinks, and can switch up any time you want. Every server I've had here has been warm and friendly and accommodating. They state they only accept cash but worked with us when we only had a card to pay with.

The brunch ($50 per person) was nice because it was buffet style and 2 of the 3 drink options were good.

The cheese sticks are a must when you visit. They are perfectly breaded, fried golden, crispy on the outside and melty on the inside. They come out hot, stretchy, and exactly what you want late at night. Their empanadas? Fire. The beef is juicy and packed with flavor, the chicken one is tender and well-seasoned, and that pink sauce... yeah, that sauce is elite. Creamy, tangy, with just enough kick to make you keep dipping until it's gone. I also ordered the chicken cachapa -- soft, slightly sweet corn pancake, stuffed generously and cooked just right. It's comforting, filling, and hits different when you're craving something authentic. Also on a late night on Dyckman, doesn't get better than this. The juices are fresh and refreshing, the perfect balance to everything savory. Service is quick and straight to the point, exactly what you need whether you're grabbing takeout or sliding into one of the small tables to eat in. The spot itself is small and cozy, no-frills, real neighborhood vibes all day. Overall, this is a classic Dyckman late-night Venezuelan staple. Great food, quick service, and flavors that always come through. If you know, you know.

Upon arrival, it was not what I thought from reviews and pictures. Las Palmas was also listed as being open late, so I crossed the street to check it out. This was more in line with what I was thinking. Unfortunately, the posted hours are incorrect. Instead of having an hour to sit and be served, I had ten minutes to order take out. The interior was cute and I can imagine people here for a date or eating with the family. I decided to go with tacos. An order of fish and one birria. There are three tacos to an order for $16. I think that may be slightly costlier than nearby establishments, but not by much. I worried about the state my tacos because I had a ways to travel. But my concern was for naught. The bag and food were so considerately packed, nothing spilled. Including the consommé in a cup for the birria. Having the first fish taco, made me instantly decide I want to try this hot and fresh! It has a heaping serving of pico and a slice of avocado on top. My one complaint is that I needed more fish. Not sure if that's an accurate grumble or just me being late night hungry/greedy. I warmed the consommé a little before dipping the tacos. The onion and cilantro taste was perfect. The meat was well seasoned and melty good. Not fatty or tough like other birria I've had. I would absolutely return to this spot and try more of the menu
