Quick, fresh, and most importantly, flavor in my face, big time. It's hard to refuse pulled pork, and I'm glad this personal flaw has yielded me so many delicious meals. It's hefty, filling, sweet and tangy, and the sweet cole slaw offset the BBQ sauce very nicely. The pita was kinda soggy for my taste, but I'm not gonna complain. It was still dope. Oh and the chips! LOVED IT! I went for lunch on a week day. It was pretty busy and there were no places to sit, but Union Square is so close. It was nice to eat there! The food was so delicious. Was not very satisfied with food, atmosphere, or attention. Atmosphere 2/5 - For starters, I'd like to point out that the venue itself is pretty small. The seating area is clean and put together nicely but, from the moment you walk in, you can see a cluttered room in the back full of boxes and supplies. Not very appealing! I don't really understand why there couldn't be a wall up. Food 3/5- No iced teas were prepared, so the only options were lemonade and what ever was in the fridge. Been picky about my takeout these days given the fact I assist a number of high risk folks. Dismayed by how few places manage to follow even the most basic health code guidelines. More often than not I walk away from restaurants when staff aren't wearing masks or wearing them below their noses or other ill advised practices given the pandemic. Was so impressed tonight. I had been meaning to try this place after reading several reviews on the usual food blog suspects Serious Eats and Eater particularly for their breakfast sandwiches. I tried the Steak and Egg in a pita and holy tastebuds it was phenomenal. I thought I would have been more adventurous and tried the more traditional sandwiches but steak sounded so good this morning. The pieces of steak were juicy and tender but the highlight of the pita was the toppings and sauce (white sauce?). There were so many flavors going on besides the steak including the light cucumber salad, warm pita, gooey egg and of course the amazing sauce. Highly recommend trying. My friend had the salmon plate which comes with a rice pilaf and salad that was equally good but I think mine was the winner this morning. Will be back! read more

It feels a little fast food-y, so it's not for a serious date, BUT if you want to take someone special without too much pretense, it's a good choice. There are plenty of options for different taste buds--pulled pork, brisket, salmon, falafel--and it's all perfectly seasoned (never too salty or spicy) balanced with carbs, greens, and tasty sauces. I'll recommend this spot when a girlfriend and I finally have some time to catch up, so we want to eat tasty food that's quick, but not feel rushed. Been here many times for lunch. Really awesome food - I've had the kruveet, chicken and salmon. All absolutely delicious. I usually get the pan and it comes with a choice of yellow or brown rice with vegetables and hot sauce on the side. Huge portions. Place gets packed for lunch. Service is fast and place is clean. Unfortunately the food here isn't as good as it used to be. Their hummus bowl was too salty, runny, and had too much olive oil. Their braised lamb was literally fat with a little bit of lamb. The pita that came with hummus was also very hard and not fresh-obviously reheated. Stay away from their cardamom chocolate chip cookie it's toooooo sweet doesn't taste good at all. Today, we had one of the worst customer service experience ever. We ordered the Falafel dish which is not supposed to have almonds (one of us is highly allergic). We did ask for half/half falafel (sweet potato and regular) and double chopped salad instead of rice. The dish came and the falafel was all the regular ones (fine). But they ended up giving us half arugula salad that had almonds in it. We took this back to them and they first just kept denying it had almonds in it. We told them of the food allergy. So we picked out the almonds and show them. The substitute manager there took the dish, scooped out the arugula salad portion and replaced with the salads with no almonds. While doing this they also removed all the sauce on the dish. Up until this point, we were not upset. Seems like an honest mistake. But when we asked them if they could just replace the whole dish (the falafel was wrong anyways) the manager refused. She kept arguing with us saying we need to tell them next time that we don't want the arugula salad when we shouldn't have known. She made it seem like it was our fault and refused to replace the dish. At this point we were upset purely out of principle. That is just terrible customer service. And with an allergy, you would think they want to just replace the whole dish in case some almonds were left there. Instead she just got into an argument with us and said "you just don't get it". We are never coming back here again. read more
