My friend made a reservation for the four of us and the good thing about this place is that they will see you even if you're full party isn't there. One of our friends gluten-free so it was very nice that they were able to offer that option without cross contamination and without charging extra for that pasta. Our service was very nice and attentive. I wasn't fond of the fact that they don't have refills for their drinks, such as iced tea; maybe it was as close on the menu and I didn't see it, but I was indeed surprise when I was charged for two iced teas because I got a refill. The pasta was not my favorite. The sauce was a bit bland for my taste and so was the shrimp. The pasta itself was al dente and very well cooked. Despite the fact that I normally obsessively plan every morsel of food we consume whenever we go on any sort of trip or frankly step out of the boundary of our property, our visit here was unusually spontaneous. I ate it in its entirety and felt good about myself afterwards. My mom ordered the brussels sprouts salad which also caught my eye. I had a forkful. Also very enjoyable. GF ordered the burrata for us to share and the scrambled eggs with a lovely hunk of sourdough, arugula, and bacon we gave to the dogs. I would ask her how it was but she is not answering my text messages promptly and I will not wait for a reply. The burrata, which I sampled of course, was delicious, as burrata tends to be. They do a sweet flavor combo with figs and probably balsamic something, I think there were pistachios. I tend to prefer a savory profile with my cheeses but given how common these sweet dishes are I guess I have an unpopular opinion. I got a cocktail that was delicious and strong enough that I (haven't taken a nap in literal years) felt compelled to nap when we arrived home from the city. Service was also excellent. We got our food a good 40 minutes later, not overreacting people I'm with then complain to say we haven't even got our appetizers yet and they served us just our dinner without even giving us the things we ordered after bringing it up to the manager. My friends mentioned that the cold brew melted quickly (we were sitting indoors), and the milk ratio in the latte was off. Although I was a walk-in without a reservation, I asked if I could sit outdoors or at another table on the main floor, but was told no. I was instead seated in a cramped downstairs area. The seating was uncomfortable, the servers had to navigate around tight spaces, and it sometimes interfered with my dining experience. I honestly don't understand why the restaurant arranges seating this way. I was dressed in smart casual, so it wasn't a clothing issue. The bread served at the start was very disappointing -- cold and lacking character. I ordered Garganelli, added a $6 Burrata and $9 shrimp. Although slightly pricey, the dish was delicious -- easily the best pasta I've had in a long time. The roasted mushrooms and garlic added incredible depth and flavor, making it a standout. The shrimp in the pasta is tender and springy, not tough or overcooked. My wife ordered Eggs Norwegian (Smoked Salmon), which was actually very flavorful. The combination of the smoked salmon, poached egg, a touch of cheese, bread, and spinach worked really well together -- very tasty. As for the environment, sitting upstairs would have been much more comfortable, but downstairs it was cramped, and I had to constantly adjust my in and out of my seat for not blocking the waitress. I even asked if we could switch seats, but was told no. If I had been able to sit upstairs without these inconveniences, I would have given four stars. The price is not cheap either, so considering the seating, environment, and cost, three stars is my rating. read more

Had a very disappointing experience at the SoHo location. Our waiter was extremely rude from the start. He never offered us drinks or appetizers, and we were never given bread while every other table around us received it. We were celebrating my friend's 21st birthday, and when we tried to order drinks, he refused to even look at our IDs. Instead, he laughed in our faces, said "haha no," and walked away. The food itself was delicious, but the portions were noticeably smaller than at other locations. I've always loved La Pecora Bianca, which makes this experience even more upsetting.
