The dinner for two with spicy chicken. Outstanding flavor and value considering all the food you get.

I had been remiss and hadn't been to Tabor in all these years of living in Baltimore. I'm glad I finally rectified that oversight. First of all, the service is incredible. On the phone or in person, the staff here is delightfully pleasant. The restaurant is clean and I was transfered by the Ethiopan music videos that they play in the background. The star of the show is the food. I'm not an Ethiopian food connoisseur (in fact, my prior experiences had been lackluster) but Tabor was a revelation. The beef was tender and flavorful and the spicy chicken had just enough kick to pick you up but no so much as to be overwhelming. The lentils were outstanding and, to my surprise, the pickled beets were sooo addictive. I will definitely be back.

The beef tibs were cooked very well. The meat was nice and tender. The veggies were also good but my favorite by far was the flavor and quality of the meat. The Ethiopian sparkling water was also a nice add to the meal.

A friend recommended Tabor over another Ethiopian restaurant I was going to try, and boy I am glad I listened. This place is kinda off the radar in that you could walk down Park Ave and saunter right on by and miss it. We went with intention, however, and easily found the door to Tabor. We didn't have a reservation but the staff accommodated us quickly. It's a rather small place, when we were seated only two other tables were occupied but they seem to be very busy with take out orders! We watched patrons enter and exit with bags of delicious food to-go. My husband had never tried Ethiopian before so I was determined to order The Baltimore (recommended for two but could easily feed more) so he'd have a true variety of offerings and best able to try as much as possible. We also started with the Veggie Sambusas which were perfection! Crispy outside and flavorful, mildly spicy lentils inside. I probably could have made a meal of just these I loved them so much. The Sambusas also opened up our appetites, we were ready to feast! Despite it being Friday evening and Tabor being busy with lots of take out business, the service was prompt and attentive. Our very impressive Baltimore platter arrived with extra injera to mop up all the goodness. I loved the variety this platter offered. So many vegetables (the beets!) and lentils but we adored the special tibs and alicha wot. So tender and so much flavor. I personally also love the slight sourness of the injera to compliment the heavy spices of the veggies and meat. Admittedly we couldn't quite finish every bite despite our best efforts and I regret not bringing home our leftovers because I woke up the next day wanting more from Tabor. I can't wait to get there again.

Absolutely delicious! We ordered the vegetarian platter, and everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Some highlights were the collard greens and spicy lentils. The injera base soaked up the flavors perfectly! Service was great and friendly, and cute decor. Being nitpicky, it would have been nice to have towels to wipe our hands with like at other Ethiopian restaurants.

visiting from the bay area and went here with my fiancé because it was recommended. the inside of the restaurant was great and they were playing music that matched the ambiance. the service was great and the food was amazing! the prices were super reasonable and didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive. this spot is a go to if you're looking for great Ethiopian food!

Stumbled into Tabor for a late evening meal (thankful they took us in because we were so hungry!!) the service was so quick and the food was to die for. This is my favorite injera I've ever had. The veggie combo was delishhhh. The spicy potatoes and the spicy lentils were my favorite. I cannot recommend this place more!

So this restaurant has a patron for life out of me, because, man, what an amazing visit! I liked everything about this place as soon as I walked in the door. The venue has a nice vibe, chill and relaxed. The wait staff was attentive and very helpful with explaining menu items and making suggestions for entrees. I wanted ALL the things, and was directed to "The Baltimore" which includes 9 veggies (NINE, OMG) and 2 proteins. We went with the Key Wot and got Kitfo for an up-charge (WORTH IT). Also got some honey wine, which was interesting but ultimately not my thing. Perhaps on the next visit I'll explore the world of Ethiopian beer. The platter of food looked absolutely AMAZING when it arrived and I wasn't sure where to start...LOL, that's a lie, I went straight for the kitfo with a piece of injera. And when I say it was delicious...LAWD. I asked for some extra spice and was given a container of what looked like cayenne pepper, but less heat and more salt. It was perfect. With that and plenty of injera, I got to work. And I was thoroughly pleased with all the food on the platter. I ate until I was stuffed and there was still so much food left. Took home a doggy bag. Lo and behold, the next day, I heated up my leftovers and the food was still excellent. It was a little hard to wrangle out from soggy injera, but I happily managed what I could. I WILL BE BACK. A LOT. Not a threat but a promise, lol.

Normally, when I go to Ethiopian places I love the vegetables and think the meat is good, but at @Taborbaltimore my taste buds were dancing with delight every time I took a bite of the meat. Run, don't walk, to this place. Obsessed! The Baltimore--9 veggies, 1/2 order each of Special Tibs & Alicha Wot. The flavor of the spices shined and the beef was perfectly cooked. One beef was more of a stew and one reminded me of bbq (it was almost like a dry rub instead of being covered in sauce). I have no idea which I liked better and I would never pick. I guess I will forever order both now. My favorite veggies were the beets and salad, but we enjoyed all of them! Veggie Sambusa--fried pastry with lentils inside. My friend loved these so much that she ordered two more after we ate them as appitizers Ethiopian is one of my favorite cuisines to share with a group. Make sure that everyone knows in advance that you eat with your hands (they will provide a fork if you ask, but that's not as fun and doesn't taste as good!). You break a off part of the injera (the rolled bread you see) and scoop up the food with it. The injera is light, porous, and a bit sour. It's incredible.

First time trying Ethiopian food and it did not disappoint. Everything was so good, there were a variety of meats & veggies. Super flavorful + great spices. Amazing service as well and staff were sweet.

This was the sample platter for three. We ended up asking for more bread or whatever that item is called.

I've been to Ethiopian restaurants in DC as well as other places, and I would not consider myself a connoisseur. However, this restaurant has made me a fan and a disciple. Absolutely delicious. The Ethiopian beers and the Ethiopian YouTube playing on the wall was a nice touch. It's not in a great area and the service was noticeable understaffed. However, their prices reflect it. Why are they selling beers for $3 when everyone else is selling for $7. They need to raise their prices and hire more staff. But if you want a fun, delicious experience and are not in a rush, this place works.

I was a bit worried when a colleague and I got to Tabor's on a Tuesday night and the only people there besides us were two waitstaff. As it turns out, I had nothing to fear: the food was incredible! The staff were attentive, super welcoming, and made excellent recommendations. I ordered the Veggie 5 Combination with collard greens, spicy red lentils, spicy sweet potatoes, and two portions of beets (because I love beets). Everything was delicious and we left feeling delightfully nourished. The only thing I wish I had known in advance is that the restaurant is in a blighted area of the city. We had walked there from our hotel and most of the walk was fine, but there were a few blocks where we didn't feel safe and we second guessed our decision to walk. Pro tip: take an Uber to Tabor's!

This is Lega Tibs and 4 veggie special. The Shiro (chickpea sauce) in the foreground was especially tasty.

Love love love this gem on Park Ave & I can walk to it from UMB. The owner and waitress were super kind and the food was tip-top. I had no idea chickpea sauce (Shiro) could be so good - not a fan of the bean in general. Ethiopian tunes sealed the deal. I'm excited to tell people about it and go back.

Three of us got some veggie sambusas (and then we ordered more of those because WOW) and the Tabor. The Special Tibbs was so great that we asked for a separate order of it in chicken (lamb, beef, or chicken). We "bothered" our waiter quite a bit and he didn't mind a bit. He was so caring and kind. It was such a neat little spot and with culturally appropriate music playing. Just a while vibe. 1000% will be returning!

The Arco's sign is still up, and when you enter, it looks exactly the same as the old Arco's and there's a very local white guy, Bob, the bartender, who greets you. (Bob, and the rest of the crew are fantastic, btw.) I was initially confused if I was in the right place. And, since it's exactly like Arco's, there's a back patio as well as ample indoor seating. The menu is also a bit disorienting since it covers everything from bagels to linguini to kitfo and tibs. We stuck to the Eritrean side of the menu, and were delighted with our food. For three people, we had the veggie platter, which had beets, so good they tasted like candy; the excellent lamb tibs, and the kitfo that Daniel, the Mexican manager/cook steered us away from ordering raw as we had done in Ethiopian restaurants. At around 7:30 on a Friday evening, we were the only ones eating, although there was a group of Eritrean young men on the patio and a few women at the bar. We talked with Solomon, the owner, about his country. We talked with Daniel about Mexico City. We talked with Bob about East Baltimore. Patsy Cline was playing on the jukebox in the bar. It was all a wonderful, very urban mishmash. Highly recommended for both the food and the atmosphere!
