Small place putting out phenomenal food. Very customizable, pick your protein and sauce for a bowl, salad, or wrap form. Falafel wrap was great, good size with a good mix of veggies. HIGHLY recommend the cilantro lime sauce, that put the wrap over the top. Small interior with a few tables outside, plenty of parking. Very attentive, knowledgeable staff that guide you through the process and are very willing to give recommendations.

Crazy great. *CRAZY* great! Almost everyone fails at falafel, but not this place; it's bright green from parsley, fluffy and cronchy, none of the dense hockey puck yucks so many other Mediterranean places fail on (the owner, Oscar, mentioned there's no wheat flour in it, thus it's gluten-free). The deep, umami tahini sauce served with it paired beautifully, and so did the garlic spread. For out first time in, my brother and dad and I wanted to have as wide a variety as possible, so we ordered the "small" family meal with beef, chicken, and gyro meat, quinoa and brown rice, salad, with cilantro sauce and tzatziki sauce for the main sauces. We added on the four falafel ala carte, and Oscar gave us some small samples of the whipped garlic and chimichurri to taste. The shwarma-style chicken was deeply marinated, ultra juicy, the gyro meat was perfectly spiced and savory, the beef was pretty good, but we were in love with the chicken, gyro, and falafel. Every sauce went great on basically every protein, and *every* sauce was better than the last. Ordering individual bowls is going to be very difficult! Oscar is a super-welcoming, affable guy, happy to talk about the food and guide you through all the choices. Definitely let him help guide you if you aren't sure what flavors are going to go together!

Delicious chicken kebab Big Sur plate $18, plus a side of tasty falafel's.

San Clemente's delightful new Mediterranean restaurant. Kebab Big Sur plate $18. Chicken was flavorful, juicy and delicious with rice, hummus, pita, and salad which did need more dressing. Chimichurri sauce was phenomenal. Falafel's were tasty and cooked perfectly. Soft opening for three weeks with limited menu, but looking forward to trying steak kebab and gyros. The owner Oscar is friendly & welcoming. Recommended!

    Raw chicken from kebab plate

Ordered takeout from here. When I thanked the employee, she responded with an apathetic 'yea.' No problem, everyone has bad days. I ordered the chicken kebab plate. Hummus, salad and tzatziki were great. Ingredients were very fresh. But the rice had no flavor...and the chicken was raw inside. Food had really great potential, but I just can't excuse raw chicken. Thankfully, I didn't get sick from it.

Everything worked well together, and omg that Cheese pull. What this place IS, IS because of the details. The setup, the décor, the AMAZING workers and how cheery and helpful they were... the cucumber/lemon water, the samples of yogurt while you wait, and the hot sauce options, all make for an enjoyable experience. Good food can be found anywhere, but when you pair that with an atmosphere that is both soothing, welcoming, and charming... you've got a home run. Oh speaking of details? WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE MUSIC? I don't know if it's like this everyday but the oldies playing ties everything together. Summers here have got to be magical that hit on beach city nostalgia. They've got alcohol. What? So you know we had to try what they had on draft. This Active Culture location is pretty popular too, because as I write this. For this visit, I opted for a beverage (no food). Oh, and I did fro-yo tastings too. THE DRINK. - Orange Creamsicle Shake. Sweet, creamy, and citrusy with a subtle tang that nailed the nostalgic creamsicle flavor. Highly recommend! THE PARKING. Street parking was available nearby, but we had to pay attention to the posted time limits because it seemed a little complicated (to me, at least). THE VERDICT. Loved the orange creamsicle shake, but I also spotted a date shake on the menu, which only means another visit is needed!

They had a nice dog friendly ground level area so we could bring our pup. We ordered their chicken tortilla soup, 1/2 pint of guac, and burrho de alambre! 10/10 for everything. The chicken tortilla soup as hearty and toasty, perfect for the cooler weather. The guac was exactly my style, not too salty, not too tart, and demolished in no time. I have been jonesing for a good bean and cheese burrito for some time now. Over that time I have been very disappointed in the B&C burritos I have come upon. Some even from my trustworthy B&C places. This was my first B&C burrito from Chela's and was looking forward to their version. At the last minute, without warning, planning or any notice I ordered my bean and cheese burrito wet. I was feeling kinda wild! Also, I asked for some chips and salsa in the side. When it was rung up, the cost was quite high and it made me step back. So I did question the charge. I didn't realize that when I ordered chips and salsa the guy thought I meant another full order of large bag of chips and a pint of salsa, not the little bag and little cup you get with your order. A nice gal helped fix that and the order cost looked much more reasonable. Whew! Financial crisis averted. I sat down after getting my Diet Pepsi (won't hold it against them that they don't have Diet Coke). Soon after, I was brought a small bag of chips and some salsas. Get the chipotle and you will not be disappointed. Shortly after that my plate with a HUGE bean and cheese burrito with lots of sauce, cheese and a drizzle of sour cream. Check the pic out, it's a beauty. The taste did not disappoint. Great beans, ooey, gooey cheese inside and out. The wet sauce was great. I thought it would be a verde sauce, but it was red. Next time I will see if they have a verde version for me to try. Just a really great B&C wet burrito. Delicious. With the chips, I only ate half the massive burrito and am already looking forward to lunch tomorrow to eat the other half. I don't give out 5 stars to many places. They have to blow me away with food, service, consistency, on and on. Chelas is an order at the counter and they bring it to you kind of place. The people taking orders and bringing food are quite nice and always willing to see if you need anything. The food has been consistently very good. All wrapped up, it's one of my favorite places around. Great job.

San Clemente, beautiful town, nice location, high style, attractive façade. It's all there. Our server AJ was as good as they get: charming, kind, warm, friendly, a real professional. The food?- off the hook! I took a chance on the Housemade veggie burger and it was the BEST that I've ever had anywhere-and the bun? Holy cow, whole wheat with some kind of seed sprinkled on top. Beautifully assembled and plated, cut in half, looking like a masterpiece with the avocado sliced in a very artistic fashion. We had the asparagus fries with a special house ranch dip to share, which were just supreme and delicately breaded for a nice crunch. My side dish was a lovely warm sautéed spinach with a little bit of garlic and sitting on a bed of chopped lettuce and maybe some raisins, tasted a bit like a dry coleslaw, but it was off the charts. An ice cold Stella Artois to wash it down. My lunchmates had the PRIME RIB DIP served on a high-quality brioche bun and an ORIGINAL RIBEYE MELT served on grilled parmesan sourdough. Spectacular throughout and scores at least a 10 for ambience, service, and food! A trip to the restroom, which was stunning and a testament to a caring restauranteur. From the moment you enter the door it smells like a high-quality frankincense, and the soap was simply divine. A well appointed clean restroom elevates a restaurant to new Heights and this one went to the heavens. Ding dong, ringing all bells! A terrific experience and we thank you.
