Ate there today with my husband. Long wait but we had heard good things so we waited. What was supposed to be 45 minutes, was 1.5 hour wait. Ordered the Waffle with Bacon and spouse had Breakfast burrito. My waffle was not good. Tasted like bleach/doughy, not crisp at all. Bacon was low quality with very little meat. Spouse said burrito was mostly egg, and it was. Not a lot of sausage, onion, peppers, etc. to add flavor. His hashbrowns were very good, however. Crisp but not hard. Found this little gem online while looking for a breakfast place near our hotel. Honestly, it is tucked back out of the way so you would not find it unless you were specifically looking for it! Everyone was very welcoming. Special of the morning was french toast with bacon or sausage. It was very good. My only comment was it could have been a little hotter, but other than that no complaints. My husband ordered the 2-2-2 and his eggs were cooked exactly as ordered. My husband took me here for brunch recently. I got the Belgian Waffles, and he got an omelet plate with cheese grits. I'm always disappointed in Belgian Waffles here in the States. The ones I've had in Korea have almost a caramelized outside that's crunchy and a fluffy inside. But these were alright! Let's talk about their grits. The best grits I've ever tried! So creamy and smooth! So flavorful! Whenever you visit, get them, please. Even if you don't like grits! I like this place. It's one of the closer brunch places to where we live, and that's fine with me! It's quaint, has good food, and friendly service! read more

We went here on a whim for breakfast. Just poking around Yelp looking for something different and stumbled upon this place. It's rather small in the inside which I found nice, but during peak church brunch times could be a tough one to manage. But, in the summer they do have twice the seating with their patio. We both ended up getting the Belgian waffles which were wonderful. The waffles were light and fluffy and the toppings of strawberries were fresh. We also had some of their mixed coffee which also was good. The price of the place for breakfast was on par with any of the breakfast around. What really did it for me was that we could have a nice breakfast and actually talk to each other since it wasn't as loud as the other places in town. Also, the service here really was exemplary. Have enjoyed breakfast here numerous times and Im in hopes people will support then and get curbside/carryout from them while these restriction are still in place for restaurants until they are somewhat eased after Dec. 14th. Anyway ate her today and all three of us had breakfast food as right now I believe that is all they are doing? That is what we wanted anyway, but typically they do sandwiches etc. Anyway two of us has create your own omelettes and they came with great breakfast potatoes and toast and were excellent. The other member of out party had chocolate chip pancakes with a side of bacon and she loved them!! Service was super friendly and great and Im hoping all of these great non chain restaurants pull through!! They have been put through a tornado. Hopefully people are trying to support these type of eateries. We really try to when possible. read more

Always a good place to have brunch on the weekend. The inside is small so on the weekends there seems to always be a small wait. The have outside seating when the weather is a little warmer. They always have a special and today's was an egg sandwich on a croissant with bacon , pepper jack cheese and banana peppers with a side of cheese grits. They have a specialty coffee menu as well as a few alcoholic beverages. The tack house is a small quaint place that's great to start your morning. They have a lunch menu as well and I hope to try that some day. They do have high chairs and a kids menu. read more

We went here for Sunday breakfast last weekend - we arrived just before a big rush (9am-ish). Not sure what other mornings are like, but the tables were filled after 9, though there didn't seem to be much of a wait. The outside tables also filled quickly as it was a nice fall morning. The staff was very friendly and the food was great - the portions were a decent size but not too big. Though they have all the staples of a diner, there were a few signature items that I was looking forward to trying - one was the cinnamon bun that had homemade bourbon icing. I'm not a huge fan of bourbon, much less on Sunday morning, but I didn't want to pass up the opportunity. It was excellent - I wholeheartedly recommend it - and though I wish it had been a bigger bun, it's probably good that it wasn't. My coffee cup never got below half before one of several waitresses came by to check on it, and the scrambled eggs were cooked just right. Can't speak for the other meals they serve, but breakfast is tasty and not too expensive. read more

My husband and I tried Tack House Pub out this past weekend and we really loved it. We came in on a cold, wet Saturday morning and it had the perfect cozy feel inside. The inside was intimate and cute. We had an AMAZING breakfast!! I got a waffle with chocolate chips on it and a side of sausage. I was craving waffles and this one did not disappoint! I think the prices were relatively inexpensive for a little place like this! The waitress was so sweet and very attentive to us and our order. I feel like this place has slipped a bit since going to dinner service.I used to frequent here a lot more often than I have lately for two reasons, one the bourbon bun was warmed in microwave and very doughy in the center, and the ingredients on the rest of the order seem to be getting of a lesser quality than previously. The service is still great and the place is still the same as when it was called the coffee pub. But the biggest complaint is the seating issues on busy days, they now take your phone number and call you when a table is ready, which is a problem when you are standing there and see empty tables and get told we are waiting for someone to arrive that gave thier number and left in thier car to do something and return. Went here to brunch with my wife. We got there right at 11 so they had just switched to the lunch menu. I was going there hoping for breakfast but was pleasantly surprised by the BLTT. Definitely recommend the BLTT! That's actually what my wife ordered while I had the two eggs, bacon, sourdough toast, and cheese grits. My order was good but nothing special. The coffee was a unique blend from Lexington tea and coffee, which I had about 3 cups of. Atmosphere was quaint and laden with equestrian decorations. Dinning area was small and they were very busy, but service was efficient and friendly. Great recommend overall, though I want to actually go back for breakfast menu. read more

This place was a surprise gem on a trip to Lexington for us. We wanted something a little different for breakfast, found this place, and left happier than we ever imagined we would. It's really small, and that is part of the appeal. It wasn't terribly busy, but seemed steady, on a Friday morning. The server was very prompt and friendly. The coffee was terrific and cups were frequently filled. I got the chicken tacos which were a great change from the normal sausage and egg breakfast for me. Not too spicy and a great way to start my day. Price was just right for the quality of food, service, and atmosphere. One of my favorite brunch spots in town! It has a definite KY atmoshpere and is a wonderful spot to bring out of town guests. I would recommend the 2-2-2 which has 2 eggs any style, 2 pancakes, and 2 pieces of bacon or sausage. It is a tasty breakfast that provides a great start to any morning/afternoon. We tried the coffee pub for lunch the other day and were disappointed how long it took to get our meals. The restaurant only had 4 tables to serve. I ordered The prime rib sandwich and it was dry and had no flavor or season. My mom had the asparagus frittata which was pretty good. The best part of our experience was our server Jill. She was very friendly and constantly checked on us despite the food delay in the kitchen. read more

Came here on a Sunday morning, a little after 10am. We were seated in about 5minutes and placed our order just a few minutes after that. Got our drinks within 2min of ordering. Our food arrived 14 minutes later. The food is excellent. here's what you need to know. Inside, this place only seats 44 people (assuming all tables are full, i counted seats). If you come here on a weekend morning, it's busy and you'll have to wait. in my experience, the earlier you arrive, the better. Sundays get busy a little later because i think people are at church. So that's a good time to come, if you're heathens like us. Otherwise, you'll probably have to wait but they do offer coffee on the porch while you wait. My favorite is the Breakfast Burrito. The OJ is fresh-squeezed and I love they offer flavored creamers for your coffee. read more

Adorable little restaurant with a solid breakfast/ brunch menu. Took my parents when they were in town and they loved the fancy coffees and delicious French toast. They recently opened for dinner as well and serve up some gigantic and yummy salads which is hard to find in Lexington. Be prepared to wait on Saturdays unless you come early, it's a popular spot with minimal seating. Now that the weather is warmer I'm excited to try out the patio. Hard to believe that I haven't reviewed Coffee Pub yet! I really like this place. Always fresh, tasty food with amazing service. Our church staff eat here often. The coffee is very nice, the lunch menu has enough choices to keep things interesting without going overboard and their breakfast items are super tasty. The ambience is very relaxing and feels "home-y" to me. Probably because the staff is always welcoming and very friendly. Their always smiling and making sure your coffee mug is full. Judging by where google maps was taking me, I thought this was going to be a dingy hole in the wall (which would have also been cool). Turns out, it was a clean, formidable- albeit small- little brunch establishment with a surprisingly rich history. I got the Hot Brown, which wasn't greasy, had excellent sauce and overall composition. Also tried their Kentucky Mule, which I wish they'd used lime juice rather than lemon. I was most impressed with the quality of the food, how quickly we got seated and served, and the grassroots atmosphere. Only downside is that it's small inside, and I could see the waitlist getting to be pretty long. Also their beer selection wasn't too wide. read more

This little joint is so cute! It's small, so get there early on weekends, but I think it'll be worth it. I personally got the waffle which honestly wasnt very good. They tasted like a weird mix of friend dough and Angel food cake. I tried some of my family's food, though and it was delicious! I think they might just be better at the savory foods. The other stuff was tasty enough that I can ignore the iffy waffle. The service was quick and nice! They have so many exciting coffee options to try, too. I consider this place a hidden gem in Lexington. It's a quaint little restaurant that's tucked away off Harrodsburg Rd. that has consistently great food and great service. Decor is country kitsch in this tiny coffee house/restaurant. On my first visit, the food quality was extremely average. My ham and cheddar omelet was small, overcooked and dried out. The cheddar was tasteless. The potatoes seemed like the frozen variety you could buy at the grocery store. Total bill for the omelet and OJ was $13 ($15 with tip). Such a great brunch spot! Should have called ahead because we waited for 20 minutes but boy was it worth it. The Bloody Mary had me licking the spiced rim.
