Stopped by this truck today at the church food truck Tuesday in Odenton. I asked about possible catering and the guy making the food told me that they would not be able to do my event because they would make so much more money at the event they were scheduled for. Mind you, I didn't tell him I was hiring them I just asked if they catered and he asked me the date. Not only was he somewhat rude, this joker had the nerve to be arrogant. I ordered the chicken tacos which were dry as hell and had no taste to them at all. If you are going to be arrogant and boast about how much money you are going to make at an event at least make sure your food is on point because those tacos were nasty as hell. I was there to try the food and Issa no for me with this one. My guests would talk so bad about me if I had these folks with this nasty/bland food cater my event, I'll stick with chipotle...lol. read more

We were excited when the Taco Bar Food Truck came to my job . I didn't check Yelp before hand, and that was a big mistake. Everyone in line before me ordered the burrito bowls. So, I thought I would be different, and get their Mexican Street Taco's. I ordered the Char Grilled Chicken Taco's which set me back $10. You got 3 small tacos that consisted of only chicken and onions, with red & green Mexican sauce on the side. I thought the sauce would have different flavor since they were a different color, but both sauces tasted the same. The Char Chicken Taco's were ok, the Chicken was a little dry, and there was no flavor. The taco's were bland, which was very disappointing. The lady asked me if I wanted beans. I was thinking beans came with the tacos, but the beans were sold separate. Even the beans had no flavor. Maybe I should of got the burrito bowl; I would of got more food for my buck. I wasn't really impressed and thought it was a waste of $10 for tacos, when I could of went to one of the authentic Mexican spots in the area and ordered a full meal for $10. read more

They were at the Maryland Craft Beer Festival. Got a surf and turf burrito bowl for *FIFTEEN* dollars. Size comparison? Not as much as you get at Chipotle for half the price. Taste comparison? The rice tasted like Uncle Ben's from a box. It was advertised as "jalapeno rice" but there's more kick in a serving of Old Bay. I'm pretty sure what they called "pico de gallo" was Tostito's from a jar. There were maybe 6 shrimp without any marinade. The steak was seasoned properly but chewy as hell. The tacos were edible, but far from Mexican street tacos. I had the steak street tacos, they came with meat that seem boiled with onions on a soggy flour tortillas. The onions and sauces were good. Would not try again unless they started using corn tortillas and grill the meat. From all the foods I tried at the food truck festival, this was far from the best read more

I've tried this truck a few times and this will probably be my last. First I ordered a shrimp and chicken quesadilla and got the bowl. I thought I had someone else's order, but he repeated the correct order number and said I got a shrimp and chicken bowl with fries. I took it because I was hungry and didn't feel like waiting again. When I sat down, I realized it was shrimp and steak not chicken. So that's 2 strikes. The bowl was ok but not what I ordered. Also the fries were soggy and greasy. They are also way over priced and they need to use corn tortillas, especially with pork and seafood tacos. read more

Parked across my hotel, were a bunch of food trucks, i havent tasted Baltimore seafood so i give this place a try. GO ANYWHERE ELSE for food. The "fresh fish" comes frozen from a box, they dont wash their produce and no sense of southern hospitality. If u enjoy waiting an hour for the WORST seafood in Baltimore come here. This place is very disappointing if you are expecting good or even passably edible tacos. They do not have corn tortillas, which is disappointing but I understand because most people prefer flour in this region. The guy taking orders was not friendly which really isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. I ordered the carnitas tacos. When I got my tacos, they were swimming in grease from the meat. Whoever made my tacos did not even attempt to drain the grease from the meat. All of this grease caused the flour tortilla to disintegrate into a soggy mess before I ate it. I gave up with the taco concept and went to eat just the meat with the green and red "Mexican" taco sauce. The red sauce tasted like ragu or another store bought sauce straight from a can. The green sauce was bland but passable. They definitely do not make their own sauce like all good Mexican places do. The meat was bland and swimming in a pool of grease. I did not like that the cilantro was marinated with the onion so it was not freshly chopped when it was put on the taco. This makes it so that you can barely taste any cilantro. All in all, I am not exaggerating when I say these were the worst tacos I have ever had. read more

The carnitas street taco was served on a flour tortilla instead of the traditional corn tortilla. The meat was soggy and bland. The "jalapeño" rice had no jalapeños in it and was super bland and obviously over cooked. The blackened shrimp tacos were surprisingly good considering how bland everything else was. The only thing I could eat was the cheese quesadilla. The chicken and pork had no taste. No cilantro as described and stale onions.

Overpriced, 3 carne asada tacos were $14 and the meat was boiled like you'd find in a beef stew. The cheese in the chicken quesadilla wasn't melted. Bland flavor all around. There's much better options if you want Mexican food. read more

Never tasted worst food in my life! Just moved from Texas and this food is an insult to mexican food...i ordered a cheese quesadilla and my husband the beer battered fish. The quesadilla was burned and had no flavor. The fish was excessively rich in oil and equally flavorless. As we bought it, the server told us that alot of people form the south have told them that this is the best tacos they have -- trust me -- i had hopes! but was thoroughly disappointed. The salsa was bland, the sour cream tasted old. and who charges for jalapeno & cilantro when you are serving mexican food??!! My friend and I got this at the Towson Town Spring Festival. My food was ok, not super flavorful (I got the burrito bowl). However, my friend thought her Sriracha shrimp tacos were very good. Overall it's decent Mexican, but I thought it was ridiculous that adding black beans to my food cost an extra 1.50 when he didn't tell me it would be extra. I've never been anywhere that charges for black beans. read more

Tried Taco Bar at our work's food truck event. I took a chance and ordered their Chipotle Shrimp Tacos. It was 3 for $13. A little pricey, but the quality made up for it. Came with large blackened shrimp and seasonings. Delicious! I'm super picky...so, me giving a compliment means that it was on point. Only negative was that it was a little too juicy. Made a mess trying to eat at my desk. Other than that, it was well worth the $13. If you see them, please give them a try! Delish food!!! read more

Pricey -- more than $30 for three shrimp tacos and a small "surf and turf" bowl -- and paid $1.50 for beans that were not included. Shrimp were grilled very nicely, but otherwise meh. Won't return. read more

The TACO BAR food truck just did an AMAZING 60 person luncheon for a family member's bar mitzvah yesterday. All of the guests... and even the other vendors on their break were raving about how good everything was. It was delicious!!! I had the fried Zucchini tacos ... SO good!! Guests had bowls, quesadillas... Everyone was so full and couldn't stop talking about how tasty it was and how fun the food truck is for a party! Everyone got to order exactly what they wanted! The process of booking the truck and arranging everything was SO easy! The owner and the workers were so nice and helped adjust the menu with more vegetarian options because we needed more of that. I'd seriously recommend the TACO BAR truck to anyone for a party. After this experience I don't think I'd ever use a traditional caterer again. Knowing every guest can food made how they want it, when they were ready to eat it, and with no waste! It was a 3 hr party, cold and windy, but they worked hard and kept serving up great stuff until everyone went home! WAY TO GO!!! read more

I got the carne asada (steak) burrito bowl. First to start on a positive, the flavor was good and it was lots of food. Now to the negatives.. the rice was really mushy and the steak was not steak... it was chuck roast... definitely never getting the burrito bowl again nor the "carne asada". I waited for so long to make my rounds the first day of food truck season. I definitely wanted to try different trucks than I did last year. I ordered the charbroiled chicken street tacos. Would never order again. Bland taste and didn't look appetizing. Nothing special here. read more

Got the shrimp taco special. The flavors were amazing!!! I would definitely return. Took a star off because no one acknowledged me when I walked up to the truck. To be fair, it looked like they were closing, so I asked. They were , but it's okay to say that and let the patron know if you can or cannot take their order. The food was ok, not great. I had a conversation with the person who took my order who seemed friendly at first but once I asked a question she seemed frustrated and not very knowledgeable about the food they were serving. I specifically asked not to have anything spicy on the food but it was ok if they put it on the side. She assured me it was on the side kind of with an attitude like how dare I ask to be sure. Low and behold once I got back to my office and went to eat it, there was pico with big chunks of jalapeno on the quesadilla so almost impossible to get off. The other odd thing is they expect a tip when you are making the payment by card. A tip is to reward good service/food. That shouldn't be expected before you have your food or get served it ..right? Oh, but they also have a tip jar on the counter right where you have to reach to pay as well. read more

The tacos here have great potential as the main ingredients seem to be great quality. BUT.....the price point is very off putting and i didn't get enough food to fill me up. I had the tropical shrimp tacos at our food truck day at work. The shrimps were big and had great flavor (although I would have never classified them as jerk shrimp as the description claimed) and that's where the greatness ends. The tacos were $13 for 3 tacos and they only consisted of a few shrimp and a few pieces of lettuce. It was very, very bare minimum and I wasn't full after eating them. Also, I disliked their sauce which my tacos were doused in (I could be wrong but I thought the description said it was a salsa not the runny sauce I received). I originally thought that rice and beans were included in the price and then found out it's an additional $3- come on owner! It needs to be included at that $13 price point. Hopefully their other choices are better. Also, they should have combo plates. read more
