Definitely a solid option for yummy tacos! Kiddo is a big fan of their Spicy Ranch Chicken Tacos and I was equally pleased with their Chipotle Shrimp tacos. The ingredient are fresh and prepared well, and the serving size is decent for the price. Their red & green sauces are good too. I just wish they had avocado as a regular add-on. Maybe some lime too? Overall service was super quick, the cashier was very kind, I thought the menu had a lot of good choices, and my chipotle shrimp tacos were fine. My food was ready within 2 minutes of ordering, it was $14 for three tacos, and I was happy with the shrimp in the tacos. The tasted like they had been pre warmed so they were a little stale by the time I ate them. No salsa, lime, or cilantro and the truck could use some updates. I bought blackened shrimp tacos and shrimp & crab bowl 2 weeks ago at the Arbutus VFD. OMG!!! Fucking amazing! And the guys were so nice and helpful!! This review is strictly for the items that I ordered! I visited this food truck and the menu gives you a fair amount of options to choose from. You have your choice of tacos, quesadillas or a southwestern bowl. They have chicken, carnitas, shrimp, crab and beef to choose from. It looked to be a 2 person crew on the truck, 1 young lady taking orders and a gentleman preparing the dishes. I opted for the chicken and shrimp bowl along with some chips and salsa. My order came out to around $20. That bowl was really good. The chicken is seasoned really well. It has a little kick to it too. It's not overly spicy but just right. The shrimp were a grilled jumbo shrimp. I got about 5 or 6 in my bowl. They were delicious. The bowl is served with jalapeño rice which was also very tasty. You have your choice of cheese, sour cream and pico to go with your bowl as well. The chips and salsa were very good. The chips were not oily at all and had the perfect amount of salt. The salsa came off as sweet at first and then gave you a nice heat kick at the end. I would highly recommend you get a bowl and check this place out for yourself. This is a cool little food truck that I've seen around Baltimore. I personally tried the spa when they were located at Ministry Brewing on a weeknight. I found the prices to be a little bit steep for the quality and quantity of food. Three chicken tacos were $12 and they came with a little bit of onion, a little bit of lime, and chicken. There are two options for your tacos, one is the American way, and one is the traditional way. The American way comes with lettuce and cheese, and the traditional way came with the onion blend that I got. The sauces that came with the tacos were good. The meat itself was well seasoned as well. Despite all this I was still hungry after the third taco so I feel like they could've possibly added a side or something just to make the meal more fulfilling. But as far as seasoning and flavor goes, it's just lacking. All tortillas are flour, none are corn. I got the spicy pork carnitas tacos, thinking that would be solid, but it was nothing to write home about. Same for the chicken quesadilla and shrimp tacos. The fries were under-salted. Hell, even the salsa was just a kick of heat; somehow it didn't even have a flavor tomato in it. If big bold flavors of authentic Mexican street tacos are too much for you, or if you want a simple meat and cheese quesadilla, then this might be a way to enjoy them. Wow! Did I even encounter the same Food Truck? Judging from the reviews, I just don't know. What I can say is that I thoroughly enjoyed Taco Bar Food Truck's Baltimore Seafood Festival offerings. I had the Blackened Salmon and Crabcake Tacos. So nice, I ordered twice and to go! The salmon was cooked to perfection. The bits of pineapple set off the slight heat on the back end of tacos. As for the Crabcake Tacos...do you guys like put a full crabcake on here?! I was in heaven with each bite. I'd definitely order again and again. read more

As a certified fat boy, I found that this was a pleasant surprise for a cold afternoon at the Maryland Department of Transportation (Mdot), food truck day. The young lady that took my order was no business and ready to work...greatly appreciated since it was a little nippy outside in the parking lot. I got the chicken tacos and chips and salsa. Spicier than I'm used too getting, but good to say the least. I hope they're on Mdot's food truck rotation next month. read more

The young woman running the register couldn't recommend a dish and was later offended when I didn't drop my phone call (20 ft away from the truck) to run over and grab my food when she called me. No, they were not busy at all. What an attitude. Wrong job for this girl. Sorry I had already included the tip in the CC transaction. I had their jerk shrimp tacos. Shrimp were just ok, lacking in jerk (except the cashier). And if shrimp is going to be served in a taco, they need to be cooked a little longer. I do know you can find them at other food truck events. I've read previous reviews and Taco Bar must have stepped their food game up! Everything is freshly made. Chicken burrito bowls and shrimp tacos are two of my nieces favorites. Taco Bar is the only food truck they eat from. The rice which comes with most meals, is a spicy jalapeno rice. I'd previously rated this truck 4 stars, but I'm downgrading it to 3 stars. The prices have gone up in the past few years and the quality of the food, which was not great to start with, has stayed the same. $16 for 3 carnitas tacos and a side of beans is a bit ridiculous. The red "taco sauce" tastes more like marinara than any Mexican salsa I've ever had. I'm not expecting exceptionally authentic food, but for what they're charging, it should at least be convincing. Don't get me wrong, the food is not bad, hence the 3 stars. You just wouldn't need to look very hard to find better tacos at a better price elsewhere. read more

I should have taken the hint when I always saw this food truck parked and there was never a line. You pay a lot for the serving size, and it's not very filling. Both times I've gone, the staff seemed annoyed that they had a customer. The food didn't even taste good enough to warrant that type of attitude. And yes, it's one of those places where you tip beforehand on an iPad and they hover over you. Maybe they got used to being one of few fishes in a small pond when it comes to tacos in Maryland. If this was a restaurant with a physical location I had to seek out, it would get 1 star. I opted for the shrimp taco special - 3 tacos for 12 bucks, filled with roasted shrimp, roasted corn, sour cream and a sauce. My coworker traded one of his Carne tacos for one of mine (same price). Consensus was - we should try to carne again when it's warmer out, but the shrimp was the clear winner. The shrimp was just slightly blackened, without over cooking, and had 3 large fresh shrimp a piece. It had a hint of spice that didn't overwhelm the taste of the shrimp. The Carne was okay, but nothing special, and at $12 seemed expensive. The Taco Bar Food Truck is a good lunch option for a medium lunch. I can't speak to the tacos or other food items, but with regards to the burrito bowl, I think the portions are a fare share for the price. I have had both the grilled chicken and carnitas bowls and found the food to be satisfactory. The meats are a little bit greasy, but have good flavor and tenderness. The chicken was a bit on the salty side, but I did enjoy the seasoning. The carnitas, on the otherhand, was a little bland. Taco Bar's burrito bowls also utilize their jalapeno rice which has a nice flavor and kick. Very tasty in flavor, but I could do with a slightly more chew-factor. Overall, the rice compliments the protein well. The pico and salsa are also good, but the latter was a little watery for my liking. In conclusion, I think as far as food trucks go, Taco Bar is very fair in terms of value. read more

We ordered the chicken tacos: the meat and fillings were flavorful, and the tortillas were soft and chewy: however, the fries we ordered were cold, soggy, and dripping in grease (which meant they were fried in cold oil). All of that would have been fine, except for the horrible experience we had with the people working in the truck. We tried to order one of each taco, and clarified over and over with the cashier that it meant one of each taco, not one of each order of 3 tacos, but when it came time to pick up our order, lo and behold, there were 9 tacos (3 of each flavor) waiting for us. Again, this wouldn't have been a problem, but when we asked for what we ordered, and for a refund for the tacos we didn't order, they gave us the worst attitude and said that we could only choose of the three flavors. And then they angrily denied us clarifying that we only wanted one taco in each flavor. My husband chose the shrimp taco, and waited for the refund. But then he remembered that, due to my new pregnancy, I was unable to eat shrimp, so he went back immediately to exchange it for the chicken taco. The cashier sarcastically said to him, "Convenient that you chose to return the most expensive taco," before angrily handing him the chicken order. There were other disparaging remarks said behind the counter against my husband, and finally, almost 40 minutes after we placed the original order, we received our refund and left, feeling insulted and underwhelmed by our experience with this company. read more

Beer Battered Fish tacos: yum! Cole slaw on bottom, fried fish on top, finished with spicy orange mayo with really good heat. The only weakness is the boring white flour tortilla - but don't let that keep you from trying the tacos. They used flour tortillas instead of corn tortillas, which are traditionally used. The chicken is incredibly bland and greasy. It was more like pulled chicken mash, rather than grilled, as advertised. It had no cilantro, and too many onions. The bottom of my food container was full of grease which made the tacos soggy before I could start eating. The red salsa tasted off. The green salsa was the only thing good. I ate 1 taco and couldn't stomach the rest. What a let down, and waste of $10. read more
