Date: 8/25/2024 Time: 3:30 PM 75° Sunny Since I have seen an advertisement of Taco Bell's cantina chicken menu on Yelp's website, I decided to take a quick bus ride from Oakland Chinatown to Taco Bell to purchase their cantina chicken bowl. This offer is good while supplies last. The last time I've been here was when Taco Bell brought back the enchirito. That enchirito was gross and did not look like the enchirito back over 50 years ago. It even tasted terrible (2 stars). Moving forward and seeing the illustration of the cantina chicken bowl, it looked similar to the grilled chicken bowl from another fast food chain - Chipotle. The cantina chicken bowl at Taco Bell consists of "a bowl filled with slow-roasted chicken, seasoned rice, black beans, Avocado Ranch sauce, reduced fat sour cream, lettuce, shredded purple cabbage, freshly prepared de gallo, guacamole and cheddar cheese." (Quoted statement is Taco Bell's description). An Avocado Verde salsa packet is included. Cost: $9.40 (tax included). Good value for what Taco Bell offered. (3.5 stars) Focusing on Chipotle's grilled chicken bowl, one has a choice of either white or brown rice and several items as mentioned above, except the guacamole is an extra $2.65. Add that to the cost of a grilled chicken bowl ($12.10) and a 10.75% tax, cost is about $16.78. (2.5 stars for the value). I placed my order using the touch screen at the front counter. Apparently the order did not go through, but an employee went ahead and took care of my order and sent me along my merry way. Because I am frugal and cheap, I will be heading back to Taco Bell for another cantina chicken bowl before they discontinue the item.

Taco Bell 1900 Webster St Alameda, CA 94501 Taco Bell on Webster St is one of the popular late night spots in West Alameda. It's common to see a huge drive-thru line on Friday night and weekends. This restaurant has been here since (probably) the 1980's. It's sitting on the site of the old Skippy Peanut Butter plant. This Taco Bell has been remodeled a few times. I was there last night, and the drive-thru line was 10-12 cars long. I usually go thru the drive-thru. It's always quick and the line moves at a steady pace. The recently added dual menu boards to handle more orders. I usually order crunchy tacos, nachos and/or the mexican pizza. Service is always polite and efficient. They don't stress about sauces or extras. I have been to this Taco Bell probably over 100 times. Located on Webster St, next to the Walgreens. It has a large parking lot, but look out for the drive-thru line. So.....Welcome to Alameda, The Island City.

Came here to try out some of the new menu items: Cantina Grilled Chicken Quesadilla- $6.99 It was nice to get the somewhat spicy guacamole and sour cream on the side. But otherwise, personally, I'd go back to the OG Chicken Quesadilla. I love the chipotle sauce included in it and the extra toasted factor. This quesadilla came out like their grilled cheese burrito with melted cheese on the outside of their tortilla. Unfortunately, they did not melt the entire item long enough because when I pulled it apart it had unmelted cold cheese inside. Overall, this location needs to not rush. There was only 3 cars ahead of me. I would rather wait that extra minute for my food to be served hot and my cheese melted

Totally remodeled Taco Bell in Alameda, my hometown! It's been years since I've been to this Taco Bell! What a face lift! Very spacious but not a lot of tables such a big place. Looks like they don't want you to stick around. We just happen to be in the area and came here for a quick bite before heading home. Food is ordered on a big computer screen and food came out quick. The food came out with pretty good amount of ingredients so I was happy. Lots of the other Taco Bell's places, the staff always gip you on the ingredients. Not cool! I am satisfied with their service here but they just close early. Still love their Taco Bell tacos and their Mexican pizza's! [19R,2024]

If they get your order wrong, it's your fault. Even if you correct them 3 times that it shows chicken and not beef on the screen. Not at all mad when I first returned because ppl make mistakes. When I kindly let them know I was met with "you didn't say that". And the bag of wrong food dang near being snatched of my hand because I returned to get the right food. Then they remake your food using the least possible ingredients!

One of my daughters favorite fast food brands, hence the 5 star review. She/we come to this drive thru more often than I prefer... She did not prefer the food from EOS, see other Yelp. Or did she just want to come to Taco Bell? Quality/Quantity - Beefy Melt Burrito - One of her favorite items. She also comes here often for their happy hour. Atmosphere - I have never been inside, always drive thru. You have to drive through the fairly large parking lot to get to the back to enter the drive thru. And it is not perfectly aligned with the last lane, you will see if you ever go. Service - Okay, don't expect much. They take your order at the window and give you your food after you pay. Price - $2.70 for today's order. Owner Suggestion - Congrats on your success since 1962 with 7000+ locations. 1964 - First franchisees. 1978 - Pepsi bought Taco Bell. 1991 - First Taco Bell Express in SF. 1995 - Started co-branding with KFC. 1997 - Pepsi spun off its restaurant business. 2002 - Spun off company changed name to Yum! Brands. 2016 - Taco Bell Cantina.

The process is easy, customers order at the window, pay, and wait outside where there are a couple tables to sit at while waiting for their orders. The main problem I found was the time it took to make a couple burritos. There were no customers in front of me and it took nearly thirty minutes to make two burritos. The other thing I noticed is the add ons really raised the price. The guacamole, etc are all extra charges on the the super burrito which in my eye makes no sense. Either it's a super or regular. Not super needing to have a ton of add ons to make it a super. But how was the burrito? Overall I thought the taste was good. Burrito was on the small side. But the ingredients seemed to be solid, and blended together nicely. Decent quality but for the price and wait time, I won't be rushing back.

From the outside, it looks like a straightforward taco truck, but wow was I surprised. I ordered the Carnitas Super Taco, which came loaded with lettuce, cheese, cilantro, onions, sour cream, and guacamole. Everything was fresh, well seasoned, and packed with flavor. My only complaint? You only get one taco per order because I definitely could've eaten another. The Kid ordered the Carne Asada Super Taco and before we even pulled away, she was asking for a second one. That's usually a pretty good sign. We also tried the horchata and jamaica, and both were delicious. The horchata was creamy and flavorful, while the jamaica was refreshing and not overly sweet. What surprised me most was how quickly they got the food out, especially considering how popular this spot seems to be. A few things to know: * Cash or Venmo only * Parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it * Keep an eye out for the new speed cameras in the area Their hours are another plus: Open daily, 9:30am- midnight Overall, this was one of those pleasant surprises that reminds you not to judge a place by appearances. No tables and chairs outside - just pure to-go. Parking is limited to street parking with many of the spaces taken by Lake Merritt visitors. There was a constant flow of customers when I went during non-peak dining hours, so I'd assume that they have lines during other times. The steak fries were a bit bland with too much sour cream and less of everything else making the fries a bit soggy. The sauces did a lot of the heavy lifting to make this dish a bit more enjoyable. I would definitely come back to try their burritos and tacos - which are what they are most known for (I just was craving steak fries that day). Everything looked authentic, fresh, and incredibly appetizing. When it was finally my turn to order, I was especially pleased to see the variety of meats available. The suadero immediately caught my attention. It appeared to be the proper cut of meat--a cut that surprisingly few places in the Bay Area use, and even fewer seem to know how to cook properly. I also noticed that they use a traditional "disco"--the large, deep, circular pan with a dome-shaped center--to cook the suadero. At that point, my mouth was watering. We ordered a burrito, three asada tacos, two suadero tacos, two cabeza tacos (meat from cow's head), one lengua (beef tongue), and one tripa (beef small intestine). I also asked for some of the salsa available behind the counter where they serve your tacos, which turned out to be a delicious house-made habanero salsa. Unfortunately, not all that glitters is gold. As appetizing as everything looked, the meats simply weren't executed as well as I had hoped. The asada was dry and overcooked. The suadero was dry, tough, and overcooked. I was particularly looking forward to the tripa, but instead of the crispy, rich, savory flavor I normally associate with a great tripa taco, these were soft, soggy, fatty, and somewhat bland. One of the biggest disappointments was that all of the different cuts seemed to taste almost exactly the same. Part of the appeal of ordering tacos like suadero, cabeza, lengua, and tripa is experiencing the distinct character of each cut. Unfortunately, those differences were largely lost here. By the end of the meal, the dominant flavor in my mouth was simply grease, which made it difficult for the individual meats to shine. That said, there is a lot to like about Taquería El Paisa. I absolutely loved the décor and overall ambience. The restaurant has a genuine feel of as if you were in a Mercado in Mexico City, and that atmosphere adds a lot to the experience. I also really enjoyed the salsa bar, which offers a great variety of traditional taco accompaniments. The house-made habanero salsa, in particular, is excellent--bright, flavorful, and seriously spicy. A few drops on each taco is more than enough. Seriously, resist the temptation to douse your taco in it! I think Taquería El Paisa has tremendous appeal and a potential for the best taqueria in the Bay Area. The atmosphere is authentic, the selection of meats is impressive, and the presentation initially builds a lot of anticipation. What I would love to see is a little more attention given to the cooking techniques and handling of each individual cut. Better control of the cooking time, texture, and perhaps work on mastering how  the suadero, tripa, lengua, and cabeza can each maintain their own distinctive flavor and character. There's definitely something special here waiting to come through. With some refinement in the execution of the meats, Taquería El Paisa could really elevate the taco experience and turn that first impression of excitement into an equally impressive meal. Side note, is there a bathroom at this restaurant? I couldn't find one.
