Folks kept telling me about the amazing Chorizo Breakfast Burrito, so I finally stopped in the morning to give it a go. This is that story. Arriving- It's on US Route 27 South and you can't miss it as the restaurant name is emblazoned on the canopy. See my picture. Parking is easy and if you have the need there are two handicapped spaces around the back near a second entrance. Ambience- The convenience store/restaurant is in the back and kind of combined. There are acres of cooler doors with every drink you can imagine including beer & wine. Just grab what you want to drink with your meal. Don't worry, you pay when you're finished. There is a bright and spotless dining area with a bunch of tables & booths. See my picture. Pro Tip- I'm a gringo and if you are also, you will be in the minority. Don't panic, you'll be made to feel very welcome! Food- This is an order at the window kind of place. There are some menus on the wall but not everything is included. Just ask. So, I asked for the famous Chorizo Breakfast Burrito- "Small or large? Small please." "Would you also like Beef & Cheese? Hell yes!" "Here or to-go? Here please." "What color sauce? Red please." Less than five minutes later it was ready and plated beautifully. Not too shabby for a gas station! Pro Tip- They make their own tortillas year daily! OMG I was in love! It was piping hot, and the aroma was incredible. It was very dense in a good way. This was the small and it was very filling. The chorizo was wonderful and spicy so expect that. I could also taste the melted cheese. It was one hell of a breakfast. The large size would have been too big for a morning meal for me. It was $5.99 and I'd added a Starbucks drink out of the cooler. Like most of these joints it's a combo of a small store and a restaurant. A few tables and booths, an open kitchen, and a little Florida kitsch and that's it! The customers will be mostly Hispanic but a gringo like me will feel completely welcome. The Television will almost certainly be on a Hispanic channel. Note that this is one of the very few small Mexican joints that has table service! Adult Libations- Somewhere along the way they acquired a beer & wine license so be sure to grab a Corona or a Modelo to go with your meal. It will be served with an interesting bottle opener that you can see in my picture. Customer Service- Friendly and efficient and I've never had a problem. Food- A large, laminated menu with everything you would expect. Beef, chicken, pork, or shrimp, it's all there, Mexican style. I went with Carnitas served with rice and beans and a small side salad. It included my choice of flour or corn tortillas for $12.99. It was out very quickly. Delicious! The pork was moist, tender, and lightly seasoned with some sauce on the side. The rice and beans were hot and typical and tasty. The side salad was fresh, and my tortillas were nice and hot. A fine four-star Mexican meal that was very affordable. These fine folks are overshadowed by a hugely successful competitor a stones throw away. So, if you are sick of the giant Americanized Mexican places, give them a try, especially if you desire table service!

I live in this teeny tiny town and love to support family businesses, and I've stuck with them throughout the challenges. Let's see where they stand now- Arriving- About as easy as it gets! They are directly on US Route 27 North and if you are southbound there is a dedicated turning lane. You'll find a nice-sized parking lot with the usual handicapped spots. Ambience- It's basically one big room with tables and booths on the sides. The bar is on the back wall with a half wall partition separating it from the restaurant. It is meticulously maintained and spotless. There's Mexican kitsch of course but less than other places. See my pic. There is a beautiful lakeside, outside deck that appears to be used on weekend evenings. I've never used it, but I hear good things. Wi-Fi- Nope, not here which is unusual for a place this size. They get a small ding for that! Adult Libations- Full bar with extensive choices complete with the requisite long list of unique margaritas. I was delighted to see that their house margarita (Casa Margarita) is not made in bulk which is typical, but handmade with Patron and premium margarita mix @ $13. Mine was delicious! See my pic. I had a chance to visit for lunch and found the food to be quite good. My wife and I were staying at the far eastern edge of Grace Bay, so this restaurant was visible on the way as we were driven by shuttle from our hotel to the tourist area. Thus, on this hot Saturday afternoon, I decided to visit by walking. The park is located on the other side of the road from Grace Bay Club, with plenty of car parking. There is a large airstream trailer where the cooking occurs, and an outdoor bar right next door (where you order, pay, and get your beverages. The bartender initially took my order, and after paying by credit card (including mandatory 12% tax and 10% service fee), I was given a numbered marker to take back to any picnic table so they knew when to deliver. The area had free wi-fi which was really useful. I got my Turks Head Draft Lager (I-AIN-GA-LIE) for $6 ($26 for a pitcher which isn't a bad price if with others), and ended up finishing it before my food came, so went back and ordered another pint (at which point I learned that they do not accept cash as payment). The beer was crisp and cold, perfect for drinking it outside on a day like this. The price of the pitcher goes down to $12 during happy hour (3-6pm daily). I ordered three things recommended by reviews, and none of them could be considered Caribbean food, but instead really well executed versions of good food: all of them were good to excellent. Mahi Tacos (choice of fried or grilled) (2 for $20) - a picture is better than words here for sure. will say the tortilla had been warmed/crisped beforehand, and it made a big difference. "Big Mac" Cheeseburger Egg Roll (1 for $6) - delivered right when finished. it was greasy with the inside still close to molten. But with thousand island dipping sauce and the ground beef/diced pickles/melted cheese filling, the combo really worked, especially with the cabbage provided. Poutine ($12) - I was surprised how good this rendition was. The demi-glaze gravy was excellent, really adding flavor. And the cheese curds were right on, slightly melted with a bit of pull. This version would work really well, even in Wisconsin. Just wish it had been delivered right when made, instead of letting it sit while the rest of the meal was being prepared. Those couple of minutes makes a big difference in the crispiness of the fries as they sit in liquid. Service was pretty much the same as I've found elsewhere on the island: does what is necessary without any level of enthusiasm.

While waiting, we wandered over to the bar and grabbed a mango cocktail and a beer, both of which were fantastic. Highly recommend dining here at least once during your stay in Turks & Caicos--just go early and enjoy the vibe.
