From the moment you walk in, the energy hits you. The festive front and large bar set the tone right away--it practically invites you to kick things off with a tequila and just enjoy the night. One of the highlights was the tableside Guacamole Al Molcajete. Freshly made right in front of us, and absolutely delicious. The chips were warm, colorful, and clearly made fresh--always a great sign. For the main course, we ordered shrimp fajitas, enchiladas rancheras, and chimichangas. The fajitas came sizzling with mushrooms, onions, and peppers, along with all the sides--guacamole, pico de gallo, shredded lettuce, sour cream, yellow rice, refried beans, and flour tortillas. The shrimp had a nice char and great flavor. Everything was generous in portion--we ended up with more food than we could finish. Between the lively atmosphere, attentive, service, , flavorful food, and fun overall vibe, this place delivers more than just a meal--it's an experience. Definitely a spot I'd come back to.

To say this restaurant's location and exterior is unassuming is very much an understatement…read more Inside, it is beautiful and has a wonderful ambiance. It was most unusual that our party of four all ordered the same. We started with a special app - Fried Shrimp & Calamari. Soo Delish! We followed with the signature dish, Cod Fish & Chips. I have had this entree in, I'd estimate, 50 restaurants, including several in England where I think it originated. NONE even come close to here! Oh My - the two big, thick pieces of lightly battered fresh cod fried to perfection! Flaky, moist and delectable. It just doesn't get any better! Wow! The fresh, hand-cut thick fries were again fried to perfection. Golden crispy on the outside, moist and tender on the inside. I don't know what their secret frying technique is or the type of oil they use but the flavor is light and delicious. Even their homemade coleslaw tastes like they just made it - so fresh with a little tang - Mmm! We ended with a very unique lemon flan, even though we all said we couldn't eat another thing. Overall, portions are generous (we took home some left overs!), service staff were friendly and attentive, and the Owner & Head Chef, Elmer came out to check on us and tell us some of his culinary encounters with blue fin tuna. Fascinating! A most enjoyable meal and experience. If you've never been, What the heck are you waiting for!

Chef Elmer works magic in the kitchen and behind the bar in this intimate setting designed to make you feel like the important guest you are. I went for my birthday last week and was fortunate enough to get to witness a Chef's Tasting event. The food my husband and I ordered for our meal was amazing, but now I have to go back for a tasting. If you haven't been, get there. If you're not interested in gourmet dining, enter through the door on the right, and get the fish and chips. They're the best I've had in the US. Either way, unless you have an aversion or allergy to seafood, it's a must do. Thank you Chef for a spectacular birthday meal and experience.

My daughter loved her quesadillas and said they were the best she's ever had. I ordered the Shrimp Campeche, and it was outstanding. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his beef and shrimp fajitas as well. I had the corn Tacos de Birria with their 6 hour slow cooked short ribs, absolutely mouth watering delicious. My partner had the mole chicken, very good. Others had Enchiladas and fish tacos - everyone in our group loved their food. Service was outstanding, everyone who worked there was kind & helpful. Decor is fun and cheerful. The only downside is that they don't take reservations for brunch, but trust me, the wait is SO worth it. We started with the mimosa flight, which came with a generous pour and several delicious flavors. Two things I look for in a good brunch: variety and a little buzz, this delivered! I ordered the steak Caesar salad, and the steak was juicy, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with the delicious potato fries. My best friend enjoyed her steak and eggs as well. We also tried the empanadas, including black bean & cheese, sazón beef, mojo pork, and buffalo chicken with sofrito aioli. Each one had its own unique flavor, and they were all delicious. Great food, fun drinks, and plenty of options. Definitely worth the wait!

They have a program to text when your table was ready, so we went for a walk in the neighborhood while we waited. A surprisingly short time later, we received the text that our table was ready! The menu(s) had a wonderful selection of food and drinks, along with some specials. They do use a QR code for their menus, but noticed they also had paper menus upon request. Our server was friendly and attentive. The other members of staff would also check in as they passed by. My boyfriend enjoyed the PB & J Latte along with the creole shrimp Benedict. He said it was seasoned well, right level of spice, stated the eggs were poached perfectly, and really enjoyed how moist the cornbread was. I indulged with the "Tipsy Palmer" which is an Arnold Palmer with Bourbon in it. To be honest, there wasn't much of a bourbon taste to it, if any at all, but for a summer brunch drink, it was refreshing. For my entree, I chose the chicken Caesar sliders. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed as the brioche buns seemed a little on the stale/stiff side. The homemade caesar dressing was delicious, but they only coated the lettuce in it which resulted in a bit of a dry slider. I believe the sliders would benefit from a bit of the dressing at least on the bottom of the bun. I asked for (and received) a side of the dressing to bring home to dress up my remaining sliders. Lastly, and I know this is extremely minor, but the silverware was placed incorrectly (knife and fork reversed with the knife edge in the wrong direction). Again, I am WELL AWARE this is minor, but for me, sometimes the minor details are the things that stand out. Overall, a wonderful experience and will try them again at a later date.

Really 4 1/2 stars. Almost a perfect 5 stars - see below…read more What a nice complete dining experience from start to finish Great friendly staff- we started with very easy to use valet parking. Vida is a beautiful restaurant with both downstairs and upstairs elegant indoor dining areas. No wonder Westchester Magazine gave Vida an award for dining room/bar decor. A top feature includes elegant sconce ceiling lights and a formal dining room table for 12 placed on an Indian tapestry rug in the upstairs dining room. The outdoor area is very well designed. The restaurant designer deserves major credit for taking a porch overlooking two major roads and cutting down poor view scapes and noise. Your eyes while standing and sitting at tables along the porch edge are drawn towards the curtains and well designed wooden features. Roadway noise is minimized and allows conversation. The food is unique- no standard Westchester lasagna or meatballs here. We had tasty crispy zucchini ( $22) flowers stuffed with fresh ricotta. The small plate had two flowers, three would have been better for the price. The next small plate was 3 sea scallops ($24) with a stacked diced tomato and cucumber salad. Very fresh with a nice sauce. Here again, 4 scallops would have been nice for the small plate price of $24. The third and 4th small plate with crispy 1/2 sized small potatoes ($18) with a spicy cumin or paprika based creama. Excellent hearty dish with the carbs needed for a full belly for two people. The 4th small plate ($28) was the winner - crispy rice stacked with fresh tuna steak and vegetables. A delicious memorable dish. Great spice use. The two mocktails were excellent along with a cold16 ounce pilsner and a large 6 oz + pour Chardonnay. If you are looking for a different place to go for a memorable diner- Vida is highly recommended. Yes. It's a bit pricey- but the dining experience is superb. Note- if it's important to you- bring cash, a $5 charge for credit card use.
