We hadn't been here for many years. We heard that ownership recently changed and many positive changes were made, and a new menu was awaiting us. We were a party of 9, all anxious to experience the new changes. We were Delighted! We were warmly greeted upon entering the restaurant and our reserved table was ready. Melvin, our skilled waiter introduced himself and ensured we were all comfortable. Fresh, delectable, Salsa and Chips were generously placed at our table and proved to be the perfect accompaniment to the large, very tasty and refreshing original and strawberry margaritas we ordered. Roberto, Joselyn and Finn were most hospitable and periodically checked on us to ensure we were enjoying every offering. The Ceviche appetizer could have been a meal, plentiful with lots of shrimp, avocado, onions and peppers - Oh, So Delicious. In fact, the Best We Ever Had! Was in the area visiting a friend for a birthday. We were feeling Mexican. And seen Maya Rivera. There is a nice big parking lot in the back and on the side. Walking in there is a circular shaped bar where they were having happy hour. 4-7 pm. $6 margaritas and $4 beers. There was no room at the bar so had to be seated. They bring the complimentary salsa and warm tortilla chips. This was one of the best salsas I've ever had. It tasted homemade and was bursting with fresh flavor; cilantro and onion were really popping in your mouth. But not too strong. They ran out of halibut fish tacos so I decided to get the grilled pork chops. And boy was I glad the tacos were sold out. The pork chops were cooked perfectly with a nice sauce with a hint of teriyaki flavor. The dish came with rice and beans and corn tortillas. So I decided to make tacos out of this dish. I cut the pork chops. And added the rice, beans and salsa. Wow that was a great taco. My friend got the steak and shrimp fajitas. The presentation was great it came out sizzling on a hot platter. But my friend said the steak had no flavor but the shrimp was good. I made him a pork taco and he enjoyed that. Next time he said he'll try the chimichanga. Lol. Good spot to eat a little pricey for Mexican. And drinks were overpriced too. Was great to see my friend and share his birthday. He did have some cake afterwards . I have to say I was extremely disappointed with my visit to this place. I've gone here over a month ago with a couple of coworkers while on assignment. I ordered a veggie chimichanga which was flavorless for the most part. The red sauce taste like an Italian marinara sauce. Not wanting to make a scene or a big deal out of it I just ate my lunch and made myself satisfied. Although I wasn't happy with my meal because I was in the area for a second time yesterday I decided to give them one more shot... This time I was alone. I sat at the bar instead of the table and ordered fried calamari. My order was $11.99. I asked the waitress if it was a decent size portion so I know whether to order a second helping of food. She said it was a personal portion but large enough to satisfy. When she bought my order I asked, "Is this a full order?" and of course she responded yes. I expressed my disappointment with the size of my meal versus the cost and she simply reassured me that that how it's served. Eventually, the manager came to the front and asked how my meal was. I told him I was very dissatisfied with the portion verd. I also told him that it wasn't cooked very well. The only thing he offered was an apology as a man sitting near me suggested he give me a second portion. The manager simply smiled and said, "We'll take care of you the next time you come." Definitely not an authentic Mexican restaurant. I've tried this place a few times to see what different dishes taste like. Quesadillas were really bad. Burritos were spoiled tasting. Steak fajitas were awful--didn't think this could be messed up. The drinks were decent and that's why I gave it two stars. Some great choices in the area include Guadalajara or Mayas Taqueria. But the Chiles rellenos was abysmal.. when served, there were chunks of cheese that weren't melted and when I asked one of the servers why .. he said that the chef said this type of cheese isn't supposed to melt .. as far as I know all the Chile's rellenos that I've tried had melted cheese ... also the sauce in the dish was basically water with a hint of tomato to it ... i don't recommend this dish at all read more

I was in the area and saw the favorable reviews here so we stopped in...bad mistake. Medium crowd and we were seated quickly and initially the waiter was attentive. I ordered the Enchilada Ranchero. It came out surprisingly quick. I suppose not much time is needed when you barely put any effort in to preparing a dish. It was lukewarm at best. As I was very hungry at the time, I did not send it back. The beans and rice on the side were cold. By the second enchilada, my meal was as well. After paying $50 for our overpriced cold food and non-alcoholic drinks, the waiter didn't even say thank you. I've had better food and dining experiences at Taco Bell. Not many Mexican options in this area and this place is authentic with Strolling Trio Saturday evening and free chips and salsa on the table- we got a refill. I thought it was surprising the spinach burrito only had spinach in it but the spinach was fresh & plentiful & came with side of rice and black beans. For those used to options in the urban centers this Mexican food won't wow & may even seem pricey but they have a large menu & dining room, are festively designed, and can accommodate vegan & children. This is your typical Mexican/Latin casual dining experience. I've had the nachos, chilaquiles, and maduros. Nachos were great, sounds obvious but I've been disappointed with lack of cheese etc elsewhere. Chilaquiles were ok, get the green sauce not the red. And maduros and sour cream were delicious, good sized serving. I wish businesses like this would pare down their menus and just focus on making those items fresh and awesome but the restaurant business is tough so just choose your order carefully. read more

The service was terrible! We went on a Friday where there was only 1 other table in our section. After tasting the water we told the waitress it tasted dirty & awful. Her response was "yeah." She walked away & offered us nothing else. Our food came out lukewarm at best. As she was clearing our table she told my 1 year old (who was literally sitting there doing nothing) "ehh ehh ehh" as in "don't touch." My friend & I looked at each other in confusion as my kid was just sitting there. Whatever, we paid & left. It's now Tuesday morning & I see on my bank statement this place must of adjusted my tip total because I was charged $10 more than what my total was on Friday. Won't ever return.
