Dining room full of people waiting for food, no one eating. Some for over an hour.

The store manager called me and apologized, and explained part of the situation that day. She was very very friendly and I'm glad we had a chance to hear each other out. I really appreciated that she called to follow up after I sent a message to corporate, I felt like that was awesome customer service.

Perpetually understaffed ($12/hr is why), food is spotty - sometimes good, sometimes dry and hard, service is glacial, their parking lot situation is the worst, but here's a health code violation: bathroom didn't have soap. That's not OK.

No wings! Not good at all. We bought the party box with eight wings in it. All of them were flat except one drum. All were smaller than the hot sauce packet. Crispy...yes. No meat. Dehydrated and inedible. I am a fan of Taco Bell so I was disappointed. So they want $9. 49 for a container of five. No. The photos are what was left after we tried to eat them.

Yahoo! Great example of how Taco Bell takes care of their workers Thank you! And I MISS THIS!!!

Hands down, the quesabirria tacos and flautas are as good as they come--absolutely amazing. We happened upon this place on Yelp, and I was a little skeptical, but after the first bite, I felt transported back to Mexico. My entire family agreed that these are the best quesabirria tacos we have had outside of Mexico, and possibly even in Mexico. The flavors were amazing, and the consommé was absolutely delicious. We are regulars on the Big Island and normally do not eat Mexican food because we have never found a good spot, with the exception of Shaka Tacos. This place was really busy, and there was only one person working. She was doing it all--taking orders, collecting money, and making all the delicious food. She was never rude and was so pleasant. She said the cooks had called in and she was the only one there. Talk about dedication! She made sure everyone got their food, and it was made perfectly. I cannot commend her enough for all the work she did and for putting out an outstanding order of food. She is a real gem and should be treated as such! It is so hard to find good employees today, and her dedication and attitude inspired me. I wish we had gotten her name, but she said she is always there. If the food takes longer than you like, just be patient, because you are in for a treat when it comes out. Good food takes time, and the food is definitely worth the wait. We will definitely be coming back every time we are here. This place is a real gem. If I could give it more stars, I would. I hope everyone reading this takes my advice and goes to this wonderful place for the delicious food and the warm people.

Food was made fresh and took about 10 minutes! It was a lot of food too. There was also live music with a lady playing guitar solo and singing! Service was amazing! We never had to wait long to order/get the bill. We were most impressed by the fact that the waitress made sure to split our Hilo local plate into two plates to make it much easier to share! We almost thought we had received two orders because of how well-plated they were. - Poke tower (8/10): Solid choice for an appetizer! There were ample portions of poke, and the flavors were nice. Not a super stand out dish though. - Hilo local plate (9.5/10): If you want to taste a wide range of Hawaiian cuisine in one dish, I would highly recommend getting this one! The Kalbi ribs were sooo good! They were juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. The Kalua pork was pretty good, and both meats paired well with the rice which had an interesting savory haupia sauce drizzled on it. The mango chili slaw and pineapple salsa added a nice tang to balance everything out. - Triple lilikoi pie (5/10): Wayyy too sweet and sugary for our liking, and you can barely taste the lilikoi flavor. We ended up just picking at the graham cracker crust and couldn't finish the rest. It seemed like one of those desserts that are premade unfortunately, and we wish we hadn't ordered this dessert.

The menu felt very "meh"...nothing particularly exciting or memorable. The cocktails looked great in photos, so we ordered the piña colada flight, but it tasted like there was little to no rum in it. Pretty presentation, but very mediocre overall. Food was just okay. The burger wasn't bad, but definitely not anything special. The fried shrimp dish was disappointing and lacked flavor. The big letdown was the ambiance. We were seated facing the street and parking lot the entire time ...no view...., just sad street. Overall, it didn't live up to the hype. Not terrible, but definitely not worth going out of your way for. The staff were all very nice though. Service friendly.

We got the roast beef special, which was packed with tender roast beef (think circa 2017 before shrinkflation went nuts), American cheese, caramelized onions in a hoagie roll. It was also sort of a French dip as the bread absorbed a sizable amount of tasty cooking liquid. This however, made the sandwich a bit of a soggy mess at the end. A tasty, cheesy, soggy mess. Once you start, you can't stop to put the sandwich down. They give you a fork for a reason. We went with chips over ulu (breadfruit) macaroni salad. There's a handful of unmarked stalls in the front with a few tables of seating. Bathroom stall exists but it's more like a shed they built around a toilet and sink with unfinished walls. It is clean though and stocked with toilet paper.
