I do not recommend going to the downtown Hilo Taco Bell on Kilauea st. They are so slow, it defeats the entire purpose of fast food. Along with that, they can't even make and cut a quesadilla properly. To top it off apparently you only need 3 packets of hot sauce for your 5 tacos. I hate this place. Drive-thru has you sitting in line for 30 minutes, only to reach the order speaker and see a sign that says, "Our fryer is broken, our menu is limited," which basically means almost everything is unavailable. Now you're stuck in line for another 20 minutes with people in front of you still waiting for their food, and there's no way to turn out. A call was made to speak with the manager about the situation, and a suggestion was made to place a sign earlier in the drive-thru--somewhere customers can still exit before getting stuck. Really disgusting. I ordered online for pick up. I arrived a couple of minutes early which allowed me to see the order being prepared. At first it was going good but slow. I prefer slow when done right. One woman got mad and grabbed and started making the soft tacos with ramdom ingredients and literally throwing the tacos in the to go box. Me and my friend love eating there a lot, and especially enjoy the nacho bell grande and crunchy tacos. Staff shortage does suck but I left early before I go to work so I can go and dine in and have an awesome meal before I start work. I only gave them an extra star because Cat the GM gave me a refund with no issues and Shift supervisor Joshua Q issued an apology at the time of the incident. Never coming back again. I can't gamble with the idea of hair in any parts of my food. The other complaint I had was that a REAL ISSUE return was not made. I use the drive through window here all the time. There is in-door seating if you have the time, but as for me, I'm always in a hurry . The food is always good and consistant, plus they give you a ton of hot sauce packets (cause I have a ziplock full of um at home,lol!) The service is quick and friendly too! You can't beat Taco Bell when it comes to price. My only complaint is the parking situation. If there's a long line at the drive-thru, all of the parked cars are pretty well blocked in. First visit to Taco Bell since arriving to big island couple months ago. It was 2:30 on a Monday, raining with drive thru a dz. cars long we went inside. Hadn't eaten all day so we're starving. Hubby got the new value box meal w/ new double chalupa, taco, cinnamon twists and soda for about 7 bucks. I got the 2 chalupa meal w/ taco and soda and side of value nachos. Food is made to order but obviously the chalupa shells were done hours earlier, room temp and soft instead of that wonderful warm slightly crisp outer shell. Huge difference!! Nachos weren't even heated, beans and cheese room temp, ugh. Sad experience. Got diet Mountain Dew had to dump out, tasted very strange. I ordered food and I checked my order BEFORE I left the window because they have messed up my order before, and once again they made a mistake. I handed them back the mistake and asked them for what I ordered. A few minutes later they came back handed me a burrito and I was on my way. Only t found out 5 minutes later they game me the wrong item AGAIN. Afterwards I call the location and tell them what happened. Whoever I spoke with on the phone was rude and short with me. I asked nicely if they could please remake the item now instead of putting me on their "mistake" list that I was on my way back with hungry kids and needed to just quickly run in and grab it, she said fine and hung up on me.
