I go here all the time. The food is usually great quality. They've never messed up my order ever. Workers aren't super cheerful, but I'm usually going at like 1AM so what can you expect. Only reason I give 4 stars is because I've had the occasional taco that was thrown together extremely lazily. Definitely better than other Taco Bell locations I've been to. read more

If it wasn't bad enough that I took my 3 small kids to taco, bell, to get them something on Friday night for their little sleepover. So we were getting some food for all the kids and yeah, besides the fact that the lady who was there, who did my order, it was so lazy that if it was such an inconvenience to her to have to ring up My order because she, I guess wanted me to do it on the little computer screen next to the cash register.But since I had, like so many kids, which is a pain in the butt, so I just trying to make it with her, and it was such an inconvenience to her, I guess, out of spite, she stiffed my three kids, three orders of cheese sauce for their nacho cheese fries.So now I got three orders of Nacho fries with no Nacho cheese sauce, just straight cold fries. I need to give a huge compliment to the manager Terrance, at the North Charleston, location off Northwoods and Ashley Phosphate. After placing a very specific special order for my son who is a picky eater, my credit card was declined, well both of my cards were declined. So not only was I a difficult customer ordering, but then I clogged up the drive through! The store is in a high traffic and at certain times of day in a rough area, so I can only imagine people try to get something for nothing often and I was mortified because I had all intentions of paying when I pulled in the drive through. The manager Terrance had never seen me before and had no idea of my honest nature but he took a chance and payed my bill with his own personal credit card. My order was $17.63 and I only had $6 cash on me, and he did not have Venmo to get reimbursed and simply took a chance on me. I gave him the cash I had and I wrote him a personal note and I am enclosing the remainder of what I owe him but I don't feel like that is enough. Please, I know Taco Bell is a huge corporation and not a high end restaurant, but this was my sons request for dinner, and exemplary employees deserve recognition regardless and Terrance deserves it! Not once did he say anything that implied annoyance or judgment, he just paid for my food. I am beyond grateful and want him to be rewarded, so if you go to this location give him a huge compliment from me! I am a teacher at a nearby school and while this was something that could have ruined my already long day of many trainings in this back to school season, he acted with grace and generosity which is rare in today's world. I like Taco Bell for driving food. Burritos, if wrapped properly, don't spill their filling nearly as much as a burger. Yeah, it could be healthier. And yeah, I could actually stop at a proper restaurant. But when there's a place to be and a stomach to fill, it's TB. I didn't go to the drive-thru for some reason and went inside instead. It's a small restaurant with only a few tables. One of the staffers had her kids with her today - they were running around the dining area. And a lovely homeless person seemed to enjoy talking the ear off of one of the counter-people. Mmmm, urban! This location is mostly easy to get to if you're headed north on I-26. Straight across from the exit ramp, but if there are cars lined up in the opposite direction you'll need to go past and make a u-turn. Similarly, getting back onto the highway presents a challenge if there are already cars waiting to make the right turn onto Ashley Phosphate and you have to wade through the traffic. Not sure why all the poor reviews, but I've been here three times and always had good service, food ready fast, and food tastes as advertised. Maybe others are expecting too much out of a fast food Mexican place. Hey it's Taco Bell, so don't expect fancy Mexican food (or true Mexican food at all really), but then you're only paying about $5 for a meal so... I've never seen this location packed, it has been pretty clean, staff acts professionally and I've always gotten exactly what I ordered. Compared to other Taco Bell locations, this one has met my expectations. It doesn't blow you away as the nicest TB ever, but certainly isn't bad. read more

I've been here once both through their drive-thru and dining in. They're conveniently located near Northwoods Mall if you get a craving for tacos like I do from time to time. The inside looks fancy for a Taco Bell and is probably one of the nicer Taco Bell's that I've been to. The service here is fine, none of the employees have ever given me attitude. My only complaint is that their drive-thru seems to go slow even when there's not a lot of cars. The food here is standard for a Taco Bell. I love the Dorito Nachos Tacos! Everything else that I've gotten here, including their Mexican Pizza and Beef Quesedilla were just okay. Not that this review will matter nor do people even care to check for the quality rating at Taco Bell. I just know that this one right here... don't ever have anything at all. Freeze Machine is always broken and they are always out of something. What is the point of being open? I would really appreciate for this Taco Bell to do some upgrades so that when people come through the drive-through and place orders that they're able to get what they ask for being that is on the menu. The Taco Bell on Northwoods Boulevard in North Charleston is one of my favorite Taco Bells in the Charleston area. I like that the location is very easy to get to from the interstate and that they are very consistent in their quality and that you know you will be getting good food in a short amount of time. The staff here works hard to make sure you get your order quickly and that you get everything that you want. I like that you can come here just about every time of the day or night and get something good when you are hungry. This Taco Bell is a good one. read more

I WAS ASSAULTED BY AN EMPLOYEE! I asked in the drive thru line if the attendant if she would mind throwing away a can of soda for me and she said yes and took it. A nearby employee, perhaps a manager, I'm not sure (no nametag visible) grabbed it out of her hand and said "we can't take this!" and THREW IT AT MY HEAD. it was half full metal can, and could've given me a concussion if it had connected, but I had begun rolling the window up and it smacked my car, splattering soda all over my paint and I'm shocked it didn't break the window. Violent behavior against a customer is never acceptable, and is highly inappropriate, and if she's willing to throw something at a customer with no provocation, what else would she do? Very dangerous and inappropriate, if I ever did something like that, I'd get the cops called on me. Not sure if I'm over-reacting -you tell me. So it's been a minute since I've dined-in @Taco Bell. I waited at the front, but ever since they put in the touch screen menus people there don't keep an eye out as much. So I gave up and used the touch screen germ magnet. I decided that since I was making the order and I'd get no weird looks to customize my food. So it was my first ever Mexican Pizza with fried potatoes on it. So while I'm waiting for my order I decide to go wash my hands. I'm not the kind of person that let's a gender sign keep me from washing my hands so I tried the Men's room Locked... turn to the Ladies, also locked.. there was all of 2 people in the place and one of them was just trying to stay warm over in a corner somewhere. Then I notice the key holes in the door "that wasn't there last time" . So I go to the front and ask if there's a key I need to get into the bathroom. The girl's eyes get wide and she searches her immediate area as if she's finding keys, then she fetches the manager and tells her that someone needs to get into the bathrooms. Another 3 or 4 minutes go by and the manager emerges from the kitchen area glances at me then hands the keys to the girl who apparently doesn't do this much because she goes through probably 10 keys before turning the lock. (Good thing I didn't actually have to use the facilities). So I go straight to the sink and pass my hand under the soap dispenser, it makes the noise, but nothing comes out. I try again, still nothing. So I open the dispenser, no soap cartridge is inside it. So upon my leaving I pass by the counter and let her know that there's no soap in the restroom. She in turn conveys the message to her manager standing plainly in sight who then stands there for a minute more glancing over at me then walks away. I continued watching her to see if she or anyone would address the situation. Nobody ever did. I collected my food at this point and started on my custom Mexican Pizza. So anyone ever Google what rancid oil can do to you? You should. This oil that they fried the potatoes in was definitely rancid. Normally rancid oil just smells that bad, but these potatoes tasted just like that smell. Only I was totally ignorant at the time. I was hungry and kept eating. Needless to say that was an eventful night for me. People need to check expiration dates on things and not try to re-fry food so much like customers aren't going to be able to tell the difference. I'm not too keen on going back there. I don't even understand the key-locked-doors-thing. With a manager that couldn't care less about things. I'm confused about all the bad reviews. I feel like expectations should be preconceived based on where you are going. This is Taco Bell. They serve fast food tacos. One would only expect to get food correctly and meet service that is adequate. Today we went and they were moderately busy. The stuff was friendly and took our order promptly. I wouldn't say they were overly friendly but I was happy with the service I was provided. Our food came out in a timely manner and our order was correct. The seating area was clean and clutter free. So I live relevantly close to this Taco Bell and have been here several times at night through the drive thru. All in all the night staff here is terrible 3 times trying I've gotten there 15 minutes before they close and they have the prompt message saying they are closed already (that's just bad business).
