The burger was awesome as always--I went with the bacon cheeseburger, and it was cooked perfectly, juicy, flavorful, and exactly what you expect from Five Guys. The Cajun fries? Absolute perfection--crispy, seasoned just right, and generously portioned. But honestly, the best part of the visit was the customer service. Huge shout-out to Wyatt Wyatt was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. From the moment we walked in, he made us feel right at home. You can tell when someone genuinely enjoys what they do, and Wyatt brought that energy--helpful, upbeat, and just all-around great service. It truly elevated the whole experience. This $9 and change burger was terrible with a totally smashed and soggy bun with sauces and juice running out - could even pick it up without it falling apart - just gross. This is the second time in the last few months I've experienced this so I'm not going back. You are better off getting a quarter pounder at McDonalds - seriously! I must admit... I love Five Guys! Out of every "fast food" type burger out there it is hands down my favorite. I used to travel for work and often fast food was the only thing available when you arrive in a new city late at night. In my travels I made it a point to try out all the burger places people rave about i.e. Whataburger, Smashburger, In N Out Burger, etc... and it still comes back to Five Guys as being my favorite. Make sure to try the bacon cheese dog too! Full strips of bacon with cheese on a hot diggity dog. Talk about pork on pork action... wooo wooo! They are always clean, consistent, and super friendly. Peanuts while you wait is a plus and you cant beat the fact that they put your fries in the bag, then dump more fries on top leaving you with that grease soaked paper bag effect... I wonder if the bag is edible? Last but not least, the ipad/iphone app is a great idea. It will save your order too so if I want the same thing, which I do, I can simply place an order through the app and its ready for pick up on my way home. read more

I never was a fan of five guys until recently, but when I want a greasy burger, this is my go-to place. Are there better burgers in Charleston? Yes. Sometimes you just need a ball of grease with some vinegar fries, and for times like that, Five Guys is my go-to restaurant. The staff is always friendly and the store has always been clean. I did notice that the last time I was there we got charged for extra bacon on the bacon cheeseburger - I'm not sure if this is a new pricing thing or if we just have never been charged before. This is a good place for lunch when you are in the area and they are efficient at getting everything together even when you have larger orders. The ultimate Fast Food indulgence if you ask me. This is the only fast food chain I will go to and the staff here at the Mt. Pleasant location are super friendly and beyond helpful. You can order online for pick up. Highly recommended at lunch and dinner time because this place is crazy busy. Great burgers, massive in size of course and it's a good idea to share, especially the fries, but the burgers & fries are hands down the best out there. It's also a great idea to get your burger lettuce wrapped if you are watching your carb intake. Parking right outside the door facing Lowe's and behind 17S. It's an indulgence for sure so visits should be rare for the hips!! But if you have family in town and a bunch of hungry teenagers this is your spot. Happy campers all round!! read more

I spent years visiting other burger places instead of Five Guys and then about four months ago I finally stepped through their doors, had a cheeseburger, and was hooked. Kicking myself for waiting so long. The price point seems a little steep at first glance, especially if you are considering a full size burger (as opposed to the "little" version) and if you're using fast food prices as a comparison. But, fear not!! First of all, these burgers fit better into the "fast casual" dining category. Better quality, better ingredients, more satisfying, etc. Second, the portion sizes are beyond generous. A "little" cheeseburger is actually comparable to a full size burger at most every restaurant you would visit. The regular (next size up) is actually TWO patties. It's a ton of food. You can pick and choose your toppings and condiments to your liking. Go for a hot dog (but, why??? The burgers are really outstanding.) The burgers (cheese or not) have nice, juicy flavor. The buns are perfect, fresh and squishy but still hold form from first to last bite. They aren't always the most photogenic burgers (fixings are kind of smashed on top of the patty and they wrap them so tight it squishes the bun quite a bit) but dang-a-lang they taste great. Now. The fries. I personally don't go to Five Guys for their fries. Do I order them? Yes. Do I love them? No. They are not crispy enough for my liking. But that may be a result of them being fresh cut from real potatoes in house. And maybe, if I asked for extra crispy I might find I like them more. (A tip for those taking their food to go: don't close up your to-go bag if you're carrying out fries, because you'll end up with a soggy pile o' potato. Leave it open to vent out the steam and maintain whatever little crispness they may hold.) Portion sizes, again, exceed expectations. The crew always fills the cup and fries pour over into your bag. Way more than you expect! This particular Five Guys meets expectations. It's clean. They're quick. The food is consistent. Like I said: it's not the most beautiful, photo-worthy burger but it's delicious. read more

Consistent five guys food. Some concerns with service and management. Staff needs to be managed better. They were over-staffed when I visited on a Saturday around noon. Reminds me of the euphemism about idle hands. Had two different cashiers make me wait as I approached the register, first for a phone call then for a tablet to rekey a mobile order into the register. Not the most welcoming service when there's 5 employees standing around idle behind the counter. More concerning was clearly overhearing the idle staff commenting on the appearance of a younger woman, who was a customer, and had two young daughters in tow. Not ok. This type of antics signals a lack of strong management. It also raises some questions in my mind as to how well are other things are managed, like food safety and cleanliness. Very disappointed in this experience with 5 Guys. Ordered online, given a 9 minute prediction for order completion, rushed over to store to get a hot order back to hungry family, notified that order was completed about 15 minutes after order was submitted, talked to 3 different front counter workers and finally got order a little over an hour from when it was ordered online and 50 minutes after their online app notified me that order was completed. And when I got the order home to the family, two of the burgers were wrong. Fries were good, burgers must have been for someone else's order. The manager informed me that their online orders were not coming through for some reason. Would have been nice to know when I first arrived. We will not use online order again; will hesitate to revisit since there are a lot of places in the area to get a decent burger. read more
