When my food was ready, I mentioned it to the staff, and they realized that the menu doesn't actually make this clear. They were incredibly kind and offered to remake my food without any hesitation. They also let me know that tomatoes were included in the rice and black beans as well, which allowed me to adjust my order and get exactly what I wanted. The food was good, but the customer service really stood out to me. I got the steak torta and it had refried beans , mayo , tomato and lettuce. According to the menu refried beans is not on the torta, just your choice of protein. I do not like refried beans, I feel like that's just a way to be skimpy with the meat! And their was barely any steak. The salsa for the tortas tasted store bought. Chicago Mexican places salsa is always charred tomatoes, garlic and onions and it makes a big difference. Also the torta bread needs to be grilled so that your not getting a soggy torta.
