I went in at 7:30 and the 3 "crunchy" tacos I ordered were so moist and wet that I could only eat half of 1 before giving up. I RARELY give reviews on fast food places - maybe two out of 400? But I feel this is more of a warning, than a review. Rawlins has limited choices, to begin with, for travelers trying to find someplace to eat. So, I succumbed to something across the street from my hotel. Mind you, other Taco Bell's I've been to have been great. I truly do like their plain, crispy tacos. BUT, arriving at this one, I find a long line at the drive thru. The reason for that? They CLOSED THE LOBBY! So, not wanting to hunt around for another dinner option, I waited in line. I ordered some crispy beef tacos and their chalupa supremes. That's it. $20 dollars for 5 tacos?!? That's ludicrous - especially when I find the state of my order. 1) The taco shells on the crispy tacos ... and chalupas, actually, were stale! I'm not talking less-than-crispy. I'm talking CHEWY - no crisp at all. The juice from the taco meat made it even worse. Makes me think these had been sitting under a warmer a while. 2) The chalupas were barely filled. Yes, there was some meat, but hardly anything else. And, again, stale shell. 3) I asked for some of their Fire and Diablo sauces. ....nothing. Not one packet. Mind you, this is a grab-and-go operation they're running. And, for what they're charging, I would've expected (a lot) better. Yes, it's a fast food joint. Yes, it's Taco Bell. The amount of one star reviews should show enough that this place needs shut down. My entire order was wrong, the workers had attitude and ignored people, the meat was cold (which is a health code violation), the tortillas were hard even for a soft taco (which shows they are either expired or close which is ANOTHER health code violation), and then they made excuses as to why everything was wrong and that their workers were all new? oh my where to begin? We stopped at the Rawlins, Wyoming, Taco Bell, and didn't look around as we walked in the door just went to the kiosk to order. We placed our orders. They did not tell us they were out of things that were on my order, no black beans, they offered potatoes, no rice, no red cabbage, most of the stuff that made up the entire meal. The service was lousy we weren't greeted when we went in. The employees were too busy, laughing and talking to themselves in the kitchen when there were no customers in there except us. The tables were dirty. The trash cans were overflowing, and the kitchen floor and dining room floor was totally filthy. when the food came, they substituted some kind of really badly overcooked potatoes for the rice, and had not bothered to tell us they were out of most of the rest of the things that went in that dish. Where do I even start? We pull up for a mobile order and we sit for over 30 minutes. No movement in the line nothing. People are sitting inside but the doors are locked so not sure if they only let certain people in or what. When I called, I got hung up on and was told it was a connection issue. They weren't apologetic at all about the wait. We never got the food and they refused to refund it. One guy sat and talked to the car in the drive thru for about 10 minutes. I was in rawlins for a school event and this experience ruined my day! I can understand being stressed when I buss of high school kids shows up out of nowhere but come on guys! I walked in and ordered on one of the self ordering machine. My order; a number eight combo no lettuce with a Baja blast freeze and some nacho fries. What really stood out to me though was the customer service. I would not even expect this level of customer service at most sit down restaurants. We were greeted upon entering, offered help at the self order kiosks, then asked how our food was TWICE! The same gentleman was cleaning the tables right after another family left as well. A bit on the slower side for a fast food chain, but it could be a lot worse. Food quality is consistent with other KFCs and Taco Bells. No standouts, in either a good or bad way. Eating area is kept relatively clean. Downsides are the location. The parking lot is arranged weird and has lots of ruts and potholes. The bathrooms are in the neighboring gas station that they share a building with. The employees I ran into were pretty friendly, so that's a plus. read more
