I shouldn't expect much from Taco bell, but this is next level, images speak for themselves

They did a whole event about their new menu, but I didn't see this one, I shouldn't expect much from them but seevice was on a hurry to see me out or I don't know how this happen.

Ok, I LOVE Taco Bell but this location is HORRIBLE. Everything in my daughters Chalupa was everywhere other than inside her chalupa! All the items were wrong! Major incompetent people at this location! Never again!

It's been a few years since my last review which was admittedly quite harsh. Now, I believe they finally got their collective sh*t together! No, really, they have had great customer service.. still a little lazy with quality control. If you have an issue, just go inside and bring it to their attention, and they will make it right. Unfortunately, this location is now a casualty of inflation, greed, political ideology, or a combination thereof. Over the years, I'd stop by and pay about $25-30 bucks to feed a family of 2.5. You can still sort of do that if you stick to the cheapest items on the menu. Splurge for 2 chalupas, a crunchy taco and drink and what used to cost a pricey $11.x is now $16 bucks! For meals, expect to pay $4-5 more dollars than you did a few years back when it was already overpriced! I know expenses rise during inflationary times, and paying for state mandated minimum wage raises cuts into the bottom line, but management (ownership?) decided to flip off customers by passing all costs onto the consumer rather than giving up their precious profit margins. Problem is that it's going to force consumers elsewhere. Think about it, why would anyone go for the Taco Bell drive through experience and pay as much or more than an overpriced, yet authentic, Mexican sit down restaurant a few blocks or miles away? Whatever value proposition was once there is completely gone! So, what are we paying for? Drive through "service?" You already expect us to tip for handing food to a customer, as owners nationwide are too cheap to pay employees right. The fast food industry is a mess. McDonald's is in a similar position and some items are cost prohibitive, but at least their menu makes sense for the average fast food consumer. Just for comparison, you pay as much for an order of fries, hash browns, or burger as you do a single crunchy taco at this location. Remember when they used to be 39 cents? How about 49 cents? 59, 69, 79, 89? This Taco Bell location is like, "ahh screw it, let's just triple the price, forget the incremental price increases.... We're in Del Mar bitches!" Corporate also needs to get its head out of its ass, this isn't just a local ownership or management issue. The big corporations have an extraordinary amount of influence on pricing; they can leverage and negotiate deals, and can destroy or enrich entire companies with the stroke of a pen. I don't feel sorry that corporate bosses actually have to work to tame the inflationary pressure we are all facing. BUT, when the solution is a giant middle finger to the face of customers, I walk and recommend others to do the same. Let the greedy shitty owners of America drown and fail due to a problem they all play a role in. Or, perhaps create a better value, improve quality control and customer service and actually give us a reason to want to return. So long for now, if you survive your missteps in sure I'll be back some day; just not anytime soon.

all my food at the bottom of the bag after the employee was trying to look for the missing item that was never there
    Linh N.

I made a mobile order through the app and drove through the drive-thru to pick it up. When I checked my order they were missing some items so I went to the lobby door to ask for the missing food. The door was lock and the employee refused to open the door and talk to me. I had to wait again in the long and slow drive-thru line to ask for all the items that I have ordered and paid for. When I got to the window he didn't believe me when I said I was missing some items and asked to see my bag. As he rifled and flip through all my food it was apparent it was missing... like I told him. Furthermore, when I finally got to eat my order, the food was cold and stale. Save yourself time and don't go to this taco bell. It is worth the drive to go to a different location. In addition, all the prices at this taco bell is inflated. The prices are higher than other local ones and as high as double the price at this store.

That alone made me feel like the wait wasn't wasted. We tried a variety of tacos, and everything was solid. The spicy pork (which actually isn't that spicy) was super flavorful and easy to eat. I will highly recommend even if you don't handle spice well. The beef tongue was another standout, it is tender, rich, and really well done. Ordering can be a little confusing at first since you line up by meat and then pay separately, but once you figure it out, it's part of the experience. If you're in San Diego, this place is pretty much a must-try. I'd come back again just for these tacos.

How it works: you'll enter the business, grab a tray, go window to window collecting your choice of street style tacos. Once you're ready to eat, you'll purchase your final picks with the cashier. While this spot is affordable, it's not cheap. These tacos quickly add up and you could easily spend $20-30 a person depending on your hunger level. I tried a number of carne asada tacos, the cactus tacos, a tostada, quesadilla, and French fries. It's hard to choose a favorite since each item is so uniquely delicious.

They had the buy 2 get 1 free deal which pushed me to try new meats since I always stick to adobada. ADOBADA HANDS DOWN FIREEE! I love me a good al pastor taco and they make it just right. Super flavorful, juicy and packed w/ meat. I'm always hesitant to try asada because I haven't found a good spot here in SD, but this one was bomb! The meat had great flavor, a smokey taste and was loaded with guac. I'd order one again. The lengua was perfect too, super tender and fell apart just right. They don't skimp on the meats either. Most of the salsas were tasty and had great flavor and the habanero had the perfect kick ! I heard of this spot because my friend had them cater her baby shower and I had to come try the actual spot. Def brought the same energy. Inside is nice and has a good vibe, love all the decor. Service was super sweet! Horchata was bomb too, not to sweet and they said it's homemade! These tacos were delicious, juicy, packed, and crafted so wonderfully. The people were very nice, and i loved that they had the salsas at the table with chili oil. I had never thought that chili oil would be good with tacos? But it works! The carne asada here is the star of the show. We had a al pastor one and it was ok but not better than the carne. This place was so good we came twice on our trip (we had wanted to try new restaurants every day but this place was so good we had to come again) - now we did go to Tacos el Gordo and all I'll say is if you love carne asada go to Chulas, but if you like a pork taco go to Tacos el Gordo! **One of my main issues with tacos is that the tortillas are thin/dry? I'm a handmade kind of tortilla person don't like the banderitas brand style of tortillas - now they said they didn't make these by hand but they're definitely not the prepackaged ones.
