I came here for some cheap food and to redeem 2 rewards. I was pretty broke and able to get a few things under $10. I redeemed the Baja blast freeze for my bday reward and a crunchy taco. Also bought a few new items. I tried a mini taco salad, the mini empanada desserts, and beefy potato loaded griller. The mini taco salad was pretty good. I didn't really like the chocolate fudge and Carmel empanada. I wasn't feeling it. The beefy potato was ok. It was pretty filling. Service was good. It's been a few years since my last review which was admittedly quite harsh. Now, I believe they finally got their collective sh*t together! No, really, they have had great customer service.. still a little lazy with quality control. If you have an issue, just go inside and bring it to their attention, and they will make it right. Unfortunately, this location is now a casualty of inflation, greed, political ideology, or a combination thereof. Over the years, I'd stop by and pay about $25-30 bucks to feed a family of 2.5. You can still sort of do that if you stick to the cheapest items on the menu. Splurge for 2 chalupas, a crunchy taco and drink and what used to cost a pricey $11.x is now $16 bucks! For meals, expect to pay $4-5 more dollars than you did a few years back when it was already overpriced! I know expenses rise during inflationary times, and paying for state mandated minimum wage raises cuts into the bottom line, but management (ownership?) decided to flip off customers by passing all costs onto the consumer rather than giving up their precious profit margins. Problem is that it's going to force consumers elsewhere. Think about it, why would anyone go for the Taco Bell drive through experience and pay as much or more than an overpriced, yet authentic, Mexican sit down restaurant a few blocks or miles away? Whatever value proposition was once there is completely gone! So, what are we paying for? Drive through "service?" You already expect us to tip for handing food to a customer, as owners nationwide are too cheap to pay employees right. The fast food industry is a mess. McDonald's is in a similar position and some items are cost prohibitive, but at least their menu makes sense for the average fast food consumer. Just for comparison, you pay as much for an order of fries, hash browns, or burger as you do a single crunchy taco at this location. Remember when they used to be 39 cents? How about 49 cents? 59, 69, 79, 89? This Taco Bell location is like, "ahh screw it, let's just triple the price, forget the incremental price increases.... We're in Del Mar bitches!" Corporate also needs to get its head out of its ass, this isn't just a local ownership or management issue. The big corporations have an extraordinary amount of influence on pricing; they can leverage and negotiate deals, and can destroy or enrich entire companies with the stroke of a pen. I don't feel sorry that corporate bosses actually have to work to tame the inflationary pressure we are all facing. BUT, when the solution is a giant middle finger to the face of customers, I walk and recommend others to do the same. Let the greedy shitty owners of America drown and fail due to a problem they all play a role in. Or, perhaps create a better value, improve quality control and customer service and actually give us a reason to want to return. So long for now, if you survive your missteps in sure I'll be back some day; just not anytime soon. read more

I made a mobile order through the app and drove through the drive-thru to pick it up. When I checked my order they were missing some items so I went to the lobby door to ask for the missing food. The door was lock and the employee refused to open the door and talk to me. I had to wait again in the long and slow drive-thru line to ask for all the items that I have ordered and paid for. When I got to the window he didn't believe me when I said I was missing some items and asked to see my bag. As he rifled and flip through all my food it was apparent it was missing... like I told him. Furthermore, when I finally got to eat my order, the food was cold and stale. Another bad experience at Carmel Valley Taco Bell. I consistently get asked to "pull around and wait in front" when I order through the app. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of ordering ahead? I get to the window and, like always, the person at the window asked me to drive around to the front to wait. I said, "Can I ask why this happens to me every time?" to which the girl at the window cut me off and said, "Mobile orders are usually bigger than drive thru orders." Came by after working my service industry gig on 5/27. Ordered food and was immediately greeted with horrendous service by some chick in the drive through. Asked for no sour cream or cheese due to an allergy but STILL got it on all of my dishes AFTER I got attitude from the girl at the drive through. The gentleman who gave us the food and charged us was amazing. Regardless; after being a fellow service industry worker; I'm extremely disappointed and extremely dissatisfied. There is no human to talk to, just Kiosks. Well, Kiosk, because only one of the two works. And there's a line to use it. Partly because tap-to-pay is broken. I guess the kind thing to say is that they're just severely perpetually understaffed. I suspect they prioritize drive-through orders since the kiosk orders come out much slower. I ordered a new item they have. It's a square wrap it had lettuce tomato into much cheese and liquid cheese. It was like having soup in a tortilla. It was supposed to have meat in it. I didn't even taste any meat and it was it was terrible. I should've taken a video but I didn't have time because I was going to work and that's why I stop there to eat. My husband found online an offer for the Meal for 4 at $20.83 The offer was 2 crunch wrap supreme, 2 chicken quesadillas, 4 beef soft tacos, 2 chips and nacho cheese. I went in to place the order and was told I could not order at the counter but online only. So an employee tried to help me as I did not know how to do it. She said she can't help me and another girl came and said that they will not help. I then tried again and it came up at $34 (for the same offer we had for $20.83 They said that their store would not accept this offer. My husband was in the car waiting for over 30 minutes with the grandkids. I went to the car and he went into the store and tried to show them the offer. They did not want to help him at first and he asked for the manager and who the district manager was and all of a sudden they tried to help him. He was there for another 30 minutes. They would not offer the offer so they entered each item separately and that showed $19.29 even cheaper than the offer shown. Why did the employees not tell us that we could order this way and even cheaper?? We wasted an hour with our grandkids stuck in the car with very rude employees that did not care to help us. We have been customers of Jack in the Box from the day it opened. I am very disappointed in the way they treated us and did not even care to help us. Just happened to be in the area and saw they were still open, at least based on their posted hours. The line at the drive through was long on this occasion. Came here after work to pick up food for myself and family. Longest wait in the drive through. Order was placed they had a hard time getting the order in which it seemed like the guy who took the order was training/new which to me was fine everyone starts somewhere and it takes time i get it, had no problem waiting while he figured it out. I call the store and spoke with Rose. Who was the rudest "manager". I tell her my order was wrong and told her what I got in the bag. She says " well first of all you changed your order several times so that's probably why, I remember your order everything should be in there." I immediately corrected her and told her "No don't tell me that, I changed ONE thing in my order" i also told her that all my condiments and napkins weren't in the bag as well (which I wasn't gonna make a big deal we could've managed but since it even stated 10 packets of sauce on the receipt and she wanted to through an attitude I mentioned it. She also told me to look inside the wrappers that all look identical in case one was mislabeled which is completely unsanitary, there has to be a better way to let customers know what's exactly in the wrapper. Regardless of if it's the right or wrong wrapper my order was still not what I ordered. I apologized to the man taking my order multiple times for the ONE change, I explained to her the gentleman who even took my order questioned why I had duplicates on the screen and I confirmed with him I only wanted one order of the item, I don't work at Taco Bell I can't control who pushes a button on accident multiple times but don't turn it around and try and blame me for allegedly changing it more than once. I work in the area VERY RARELY and have been at work since 6am Taco Bell was the closest thing to the freeway. I asked for a refund she stated with THE BIGGEST attitude and sigh "I can only refund you the things missing but you have to come in to the store." I asked if it was something that can be done over the phone she says no but she can when I'm back in the area they will. Explained multiple times I don't live in the area and very rarely work there. This Taco Bell location has touchscreen ordering, which was actually quite nice and easy to customize--and pay right on the spot. For fast food that you may want to customize, it really makes it easy to do (i.e. no cheese on a taco for one of our kids), and you can see your whole order (and photos/changes) when you're ready to pay. I didn't know you could make a burrito "fresco" and also "grilled" which was nice, we were able specify that for one of our items and it was a bonus. Their "limited time" items don't show up on the touch screen though. I wanted to try their chicken rolled tacos and searched every option on the main screen and couldn't find it. When I went up front to order, I told the cashier that the rolled tacos weren't on the touch screen, and she said, "I don't know anything about those menus" but took my order. It was too bad that I had to place two orders (my self-selected one) and the one up front, but that's probably just how it works for new items until they're programed in. The food was made fast (for a Saturday afternoon around 1:30pm) and the quality was good as usual. The location was clean and the staff were friendly and appeared to be working really hard to get things moved out. --------TL;DR-------- PROS: the touchscreen ordering makes it nice to customize your food orders and you know nothing gets ordered wrong if you can recheck it yourself. CONS: unfortunately, their "new" items or "limited time" items didn't show up on the touchscreen system, so I ended up having to place a separate order up front. BOTTOM LINE: It's a standard Taco Bell. Most of us have been to one at some point in our lives. They're pretty nice and reasonably fast. The touchscreens are nice for typical orders. if you want a special item though, skip the touch screen. read more

my kids told me that they wanted to do free taco tuesday at taco bell. I guess they saw on twitter or something that taco bell was doing a free doritos loco taco on tuesday (this was a few weeks ago)... sure, fine...my son hasn't driven in a month and the practice would do him some good...so we emerged from our home for our taco bell excursion. we each got one of the free doritos loco tacos and the kids also got the fritos burrito (chips in everything!). super happy! the next week they were about to go (just 2 of them)....but plans redirected them elsewhere... so come yesterday...they were still upset that they didn't go last tuesday. This week the free taco is the flaming hot doritos loco taco! we all went for our free taco again! kids also got some of those frito burrito (that's just fun to say!)... service was friendly and prompt they used a bucket to take money and give change to avoid contact. the bag was sealed shut with a "sticker"...not sure how that reduces the risk of virus transfer... anyways...Taco Bell has given us a fun reason to leave the house during this lovely apocalypse read more

If I could give this a negative score I would. Went here late night after work, waited in the drive thru line for over 20 minutes to order food. When I went to eat my food everything in the box was cold and stale! I had barely made it around the corner but I wasn't about to go back and wait in that line any longer so I tried calling the store the entire drive home. No answer just rang off the hook. What's really frustrating is that this cost me $14 for food that was not edible and zero customer service! I didn't expect perfection from Taco Bell but I do expect hot food and customer service.
