    In n Out
    Alice M.

I was really craving for In N Out burger and headed to the drive thru. I was at Mission Valley location and the line was out to the street. I was going to give up but decided to push my luck at Kearny Mesa rd location and I am so glad I did. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was going to dine in but I got scared of their parking situation because it felt once I parked I would be stuck because of the drive thru line would block you in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I think there should be someone to guide the traffic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My go to favorite is one of their secret menu called the grilled cheese with everything on it and animal style fries. They have several secret menu that are not listed but it's no secret for the locals who are regulars. You usually pay at the first window and the second window is where you will receive your orders. I love how they still ask if you'll be eating inside your car no other place does that but here. The quality and the taste is just what I remembered to be ever since my highschool days it gave me nostalgia. Thank you In N Out for never lowering the quality.

A Flying Dutchman and a protein-style cheeseburger layered together (add both grilled and raw onions and chopped chilis)

I've been coming to this In-N-Out location for years every now and then. Last night I was craving something a little "cheat-meal-ish" and I ended up here. It was really busy for a Sunday night! I parked and went inside, since it's typically a bit faster when the car line is super long. I ordered a protein-style cheeseburger (add both raw and grilled onion and chopped chilis) and a classic Flying Dutchman (no onion-wrap). I put the Flying Dutchman into the protein-style cheeseburger and it was like an extra cheesy, protein-style 3x3 with chilis. It was good, sure. And for ~$12 with a small drink it's a deal, but like I typically mention on fast-food reviews, it's hard for me to give any fast-food place 5/5 stars, mainly since it seems weird in the overall scheme of ratings, where I've considered much fine dining and unique cultural experiences. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, this is a nice location, typically quite cleanly, though it gets very busy at times.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Not a bad choice for an In-N-Out though.

Double - Double with Fries light well

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This In-N-Out location is convenient and boasts quite a line even at 1:00am - not a surprise if you're familiar with In-N-Out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drive-thru line was a bit of a mess, taking up an entire lane which made parking harder. Wanting relief from the line, I hopped in and ordered a Double-Double and fries light well. Since it was near closing, there were less staff, but food was prepared still fairly quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The waiting and seating area? Regular cleanliness.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Eventually, my order was ready, and I enjoyed it a short drive away. I couldn't resist the fries, so I dove right in. They were a tad short of light well, but tasty nonetheless. However, as I kept eating, I realized that it got salter and salter; there was too much salt this go-around. The spread also tasted funky, more sour than usual. Did the recipe change? Was it spoiled? Thankfully, the double-double was of quality that is shared across other In-N-Out chains. Returning? Yes, but would likely think twice before ordering fries again.

I usually have a great experience with In-N-Out Burger, which is why this visit was so disappointing. This location is by far the worst In-N-Out I've been to. The main issue was that employees did not actively listen. I clearly stated my order at all three points in the drive thru, and it was still entered incorrectly. I repeated myself multiple times to avoid confusion, yet the order was wrong when I received it. I also specifically asked for extra spread and chilis multiple times, including at the window when receiving my food, and none were included. To make matters worse, when the food was handed to me, there was literal trash inside the bag along with the food. That should never happen, especially at a place known for consistency and cleanliness. I normally expect much better from In-N-Out, so this experience was frustrating and surprising. Hopefully this location can improve on attention to detail, listening, and basic quality control, because this was well below the standard the brand is known for

I don't normally write reviews for in n out, but this location deserves one. When I first drove up to the parking lot, I was worried because of how tiny it was and extremely limited space. There's not much room for people to park and the drive through line, but they make it work! The line moved quickly for me. I was in and out (no pun intended) in less than 5 minutes! The french fries are worth mentioning, as I always order mine light well. They were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside - just how I like it.

The In-N-Out in Kearny Mesa serves up the classic, reliable burgers and fries that fans come back for. The food was tasty and satisfying, just as you'd expect from this chain. The downside is the parking and drive-thru. they can get pretty hectic during peak hours, so it's worth planning ahead. The staff is friendly and keeps the line moving efficiently, which helps ease the chaos. Overall, it's a solid spot if you're craving a quick, classic burger fix.

Easy to find off of the 8 Freeway using Yelp. Of course the great burgers one always expect. Pam got a double double, and I got a 3x3 protein style. Excellent service by Jennifer De

In-N-Out is so good but 30 minutes to get through the drive through at 4:00pm is rough. Not sure if they're understaffed at that time

Onion rings were ok. Nothing to rave about honestly. The seasoning on it made them seem nicer but I think it just took away from a good ol fashioned onion rings, they also added a seasoning to the ranch to pair with the onion ring and I wasn't a huge fan. Next time I definitely want to try a different burger and opt for the elote fries or no fries at all. I'm just happy to finally be able to cross this place off my list of must tries, lol. Everything is fresh, cooked to perfection, and explained very well when brought to the table. I forgot the name of the burger I tried, but it was chicken based that was like a curry infused (it was yellow) and I thought it was a nice edition to the menu. Side note, you might want to wear gloves or eat with knife and fork as you'll be using a lot of napkins for sure (haha) I will continue to show the love for this place and enjoy this as one of my "special treat meals". The portions are big and the quality of the food is very good. The breading and seasoning on the chicken was tasty AF. Secondarily, the burgers are 1/4 lb and a single is plenty for a normal person. Lastly, the rings were thicc and GBD. Unfortunately, we sat in traffic for 3 hrs from OC, when it normally takes 1 1/2 hrs: We were really hungry, and Hodads met our needs. Regarding the ambiance, its a bit grunge but np for me. The name has a whole lot of nostalgia in SD. The service was friendly & warm. Our food came out quickly. The only downside was the chicken & rings needed some kinda sauce, but otherwise everything else was great. Would def return the next time I am in the area.

First off, if you're in San Diego, this should be your only must-visit. I rarely go back to places I've already reviewed, but Hodads is a MUST, non-negotiable!!! The dining room is not fancy and looks like a teenager's bedroom with stickers and license plates adorning the walls. While the burger speaks for itself, whether you get the mini, reg, or double, the patties are thick, juicy, with fresh veggies and a soft, sweet bun to soak up those juices. This goes for the onion rings too, that don't seem to come out of the dryer in a bag. At the end of the day, the service was fast and friendly and carried the ocean vibe a Cali burger joint should have. I even picked up my Hodads T-shirt to probably advertise on my travels! My only question and curiosity is in the fries. I'm not a fan of wedges, and I feel like my last visit, they were thick-seasoned traditional fries. Fries or wedges, it will never change how I feel about Hodads!!!

Pros: I got the half-pound burger with fries and it was really good overall. The burger was super juicy, well-cooked, and had that classic hearty, satisfying taste you want from a solid burger spot. The portion size was generous, especially with the half-pound patty, and the fries were a great side to round out the meal. The location in Pacific Beach is also a big plus. It's in a great area with lots going on, so it's easy to grab food and walk around afterward or make it part of a beach day. The overall vibe of the spot feels casual and fitting for PB--nothing overly fancy, just good comfort food done right. Cons: Since it's in a busy beach area, parking and crowds can be a bit of a challenge depending on the time you go. It's more of a casual grab-and-go or quick dine-in spot, so don't expect a sit-down restaurant experience with a lot of space or quiet seating. During peak beach hours, it can also get pretty busy. Verdict: Overall, Rocky's Burgers is a great spot in Pacific Beach if you're craving a juicy, satisfying burger in a fun beachside area. The half-pound burger and fries hit the spot, and it's a solid choice for a casual meal before or after hanging out in PB.
