We have this TB 3 tries before writing this review. Today we got great service, but all three visits the food has been lacking. They can't seem to get it right if you order something that isn't on the menu. Supreme taco no sour cream is what we ordered and we got regular tacos, no tomatoes, no sour cream, barely any meat (which was very runny) with cracked taco shells. They are often out of items when we order, out of cheese, out of the large cups, etc. Whomever does their ordering needs a new build-to. It isn't rocket science. The location of this taco bell is not easy to get into. The drive thru is very long which is good. But customers do not pay attention and you need to stay aware of cars pulling out in front of you. Plus there's a major intersection nearby that is very dangerous. The staff inside was very busy and I was impressed at the speed and correctness of my order. They have a wonderful dining room. The bathrooms could use some cleaning but other than that the condiments and utinsels was available. I ordered online 10 minutes before I arrived, and ended up waiting an additional 20 minutes after I got there to receive my food. The drive thru had main priority while the lobby was entirely full of people waiting. After I got my food, it was wrong and I went back up to get it fixed. Instead of listening, the lady at the front with red hair didn't even know what to do, and the blonde cook just argued with me and told me I was wrong. Normally you go here and they are polite, Usually fast, and friendly. That is for inside service. The drive thru is a different story altogether. 1) they are not open at 7:00am 2) when they are open, or at least cars are Parked in the lot, they may or may not answer the intercom. 3) the lot was full of employee cars. Apparently because no one was in the dining room, they never answered the intercom. I pulled to the window and still no one came to the window. Apparently they open at 8:00 instead of 7. 4) sometimes the wait at the drive thru is close to 10 minutes when they do answer and you can order. UPDATE 09/25/17 the doors are LOCKED NO ONE AROUND. 02/22/2018 update for the past several weeks. After 07:00 no one in the store to order from. No employees in the store. One morning a few employees were waiting for a key holder to let them in. One morning the guy was at the window and i drove ahead to knock on the window. He said he forgot to put his headset on. This is the worst Taco Bell, they are ALWAYS out of something that we order. Today we had to order three times before finding something that they had in stock. After 12 minutes, the employees had just started to make the order of the customer who had ordered in front of me. I should have listened to the guy who warned us when we walked in. After 30 minutes of waiting (it was Labor Day) I finally got a refund and went across the street to Arby's. It's not that I expect much from a Taco Bell or fast food in general, but if food will take 30 minutes (for whatever reason) you probably shouldn't be open to the public as a fast food entity. Taco Bell is my guilty pleasure, so it's hard to be critical. Yes, I know homemade tacos are better and there are plenty of places to get authentic mexican cuisine especially in my area, but there's nothing like rolling into T-Bell at midnight and spending twelve bucks on a metric TON of food. This is what I know about Taco Bell: -- The origin and composition of the "beef product" has been the object of much scrutiny. -- It tastes better at 1:00 a.m. than it does at 6:00 p.m. -- If I eat an XXL Beef Burrito after 9:00 p.m. my butt bleeds the next morning. -- Every menu item is essentially the same. The only real difference is the way it is presented. -- If you eat at a Taco Bell the first day after it has re-opened following a health department shutdown, you will be treated to the freshest, most wholesome meal you have EVER eaten in your entire fucking life! Despite all this, I just cannot say "no" to Taco Bell. I was very excited to find they were now expanding their menu to include breakfast items, and though I was skeptical I believed that the T-Bell magic would now extend into the a.m. hours, relieving me of yet another meal decision. To put it bluntly, Taco Bell's breakfast menu is mostly an affront to mankind and I still feel dirty two weeks after having experienced it. The "A.M. Crunchwrap" (steak version ONLY) gave me a false sense of security because it is actually palatable and almost what I might consider "sufficient". The breakfast burritos are damn near carbon copies of the McDonald's version of the same meal. If that had been the end of the breakfast menu I could have simply gone on with my life, secure in the knowledge that Taco Bell, while not the pinnacle of fine dining, had still managed to make a positive business decision. Then I tasted the "Waffle Taco" To say that the waffle taco "tastes like shit" would be a simile for which I have no frame of reference. To say that it is, in fact, shit would be an insult to shit. I like my waffles with syrup. I like my eggs with a little salt and pepper (if I'm feeling a little smexy, maybe a dash of Tabasco). I like my sausage as pristine and sausage-y as possible. With the Waffle Taco, you get none of that. You either eat it dry or you get syrup on everything and for someone who has spent a total of six years of his life making sure syrup never crosses the egg border on his breakfast plate it is very off-putting. I don't know if it was my Mother's depression-era exhortations of "Make sure you eat everything on your plate!" or my own morbid curiosity, but I finished the entire taco even though the sausage (I should have had the bacon) tasted somewhat suspect--what I imagine unrefrigerated horse meat would taste like. The best thing I can say is that I was able to at least restrict the vomit to the inside of my mouth for the time being. I tried one of the Cinnabon Delights, hoping the aromatic aura of freshly baked cinnamon would eradicate the evidence of my "mouth rape" at the hands of the waffle taco, or at least take the edge off my vomit breath. Once again I was wrong. I was expecting simply cinnamon flavored donut holes, but what I got was a cinnamon sphere filled with some kind of primordial goo. I wasn't sure if it was undercooked or if an underpaid employee had a sick vendetta against me. It didn't matter. Once I got a sense of the consistency of this evil pastry, my gag reflex ejected it immediately into the napkin. I politely but decisively flipped off the employee tending the drive-thru window and drove off, broken and dejected--Solitary in my remorse. I tried to sleep it off, but two hours into my slumber I was awakened by an feeling of unease--the kind of unease that, if you truly heeded its warning, would direct you to the nearest emergency room. But there wasn't time for that. The pure and blistering tempest of sorrow and regret that issued forth from my "fundament" over the course of the next twenty minutes would mark the first time I had ever vocally expressed my discomfort in any bathroom, anywhere. I am most often very reserved in all my activities, not the least of which is my bathroom etiquette, but the distress visited upon me by ONE waffle taco and the required cleanup resulted in the need for three bottles of bleach, a hazmat suit and a mandatory three day Department of Health quarantine. I have since recovered and the doctor says that once the swelling goes down I'll be able to ride a bike again. It is not my intention to defame Taco Bell or put the company in a bad light. It's just my experience with their breakfast. I have eaten at the South Haven location several times and only a handful of those visits resulted in a hospital stay. If you're up for an adventure and want to try something less risky, go to your local free clinic or Intercare and lick the inner bathroom door handle. If you find yourself at Taco Bell at nine in the morning, wait two hours and get the nachos. read more
