I've…read morebeen coming here for over five years, and at this point, it is one of the only places I'll go when I want tacos because everything else tends to leave me wondering why I didn't just come here in the first place. The tacos are every bit as good as people say and the environment is clean and relaxed, they usually have some good music playing too. Authentic, flavorful, consistent, and made with care. But the birria is the real star for me. Hands down, it is the best birria I've had anywhere in Metro Detroit. Rich, tender, packed with flavor, and exactly the kind of thing you think about again later like it owes you money. The owner is also genuinely one of the sweetest people. He remembered my order after only a few visits, and that kind of personal touch makes the place feel even more special. I usually stick with my Mexican Coke, but I love that they have their liquor license now, because a margarita or Corona with the food is a very solid upgrade. I've brought a bunch of people here and sent a whole handful of others, and everyone has said the same thing. It is some of the best Mexican food they've ever had. One of my friends even said it was better than what he had in California and Mexico, which is a bold statement, but Que Pasa can handle bold statements. Que Pasa is not just good for the area, it is the standard I compare everyone else to. Which is probably unfair to everyone else, but here we are.

Things that need work: there was definitely a language barrier ordering and requesting that they bill our three families separately. They were using a handheld machine for orders and it took three times going over our order before it was finally put in correctly. Although we asked for bills separated, we wound up with one bill, which was too tricky to split up the way they had entered everything, so we paid for everything and had to figure out $ later. Not a major deal, just a nuisance. Also, no AC and the seating was the type of wood that needs shellacking since the shine has worn off and it's sticky. You leave feeling sweaty and sticky, and that's not the way you want to feel on a hot day.

I can tell they just would be some where else but that's the culture nowadays isn't it? But they put the meal together swiftly. Always a plus. I did notice that some patrons made sure to check their orders well before leaving the premises. One complained about not receiving their guacamole and had to fight to get something they paid for...the cheek!! The "restaurant" and I use this loosely, is confusing. They have many tables but no table service. A glorified takeout place. They only serve soda, no alcohol. But I came here for food, it's good and tasty and if you can deal with the non-friendly service well this may be your place. One more thing I noticed is that this place has a drive-thru and it was very busy on this Friday night.

I started with a small order of chips and salsa and ordered a loaded burrito with al pastor. The chips were perfectly crispy, and the salsa had a great flavor--fresh with just the right balance. While I was waiting for my burrito (around 1:15 PM, just past the lunch rush), I noticed a steady stream of customers coming in for takeout along with multiple DoorDash pickups. That alone told me this place is doing something right. When my burrito was ready, I was pleasantly surprised that they actually brought it out to me. The burrito itself was a great size, packed with flavor, and incredibly filling. I left feeling completely satisfied. I've seen people mention that the dining room is limited, and while it is on the smaller side, there's still plenty of seating for dine-in. I always purchase an extra container of it to go with the generous bag of chips. Although they are located on the corner of two main roads - Southfield and 10 Mile, you can only enter from Southfield Rd. They have outdoor and indoor eating areas plus a drive thru.
