Stopped in for 2 hard shell and 2 soft shell tacos. My husband's 2 hard shell tacos were greasy and my 2 soft shell tacos were ice COLD! Ate 3/4 of one at three it out. We parked just down the road --the first light passed the taco place, we turned and parked. The Coke my husband got had no syrup hardly in it. Didn't taste like Coca Cola at all! Disappointed in service and food. Walked in, not busy. One employee mopping floor. No problem waiting for someone to take order. Well, the person mopping the floor, came and took our order. Handed drink cups without washing hands. Bowl burrito misleading, appetizer size maybe 10 bites. Approx. 3/4 cup. For almost $10 asked for hot and mild sauce. Received one small cups (2 tbsp) in each. Went to counter to get more salsa and waited and waited and waited. Finally the person came and was so rude. Really, why would anyone go back!!! They were not busy. We were the only people (2) in the place. Unfriendly and portion size on burrito bowl is not worth the price. read more

I have been coming to this Taco Bob's for years. I almost always get the same order. A burrito deluxe without ground beef add olives. It's never been a problem. Today the guy that answered the phone seemed absolutely clueless as to how to ring it up, and he asked someone else in the background. I heard 2 different people in the background going "she doesn't want ground beef?" in a tone like I was asking them to do something completely ridiculous. I mentioned that that I order it all the time, and it wasn't very pleasant to hear people being rude about it in the background. He puts me on hold and a woman gets on the line and was if I wanted rice because that's how they sub protein (fyi rice is a carb, not a protein) and I'm like ok, fine do the rice, because at this point what should be a simple order has turned into an exercise in incompetence. Then I said I wanted to pick it up after I got out of work, which was a little over an hour, because I was in a hurry and didn't want to wait at the drive thru because it's usually pretty slow. She starts telling me it only takes a minute to make it, so I asked if they were unable to do orders ahead for pickup, and she said they could, but then kept talking about prepping it and how it only took a minute to make. I have no clue why she kept saying this. Either she could do it at that time, or she could simply say she couldn't. It seems like if you can do an order like this for Doordash, it seems like you should be able to do the same order for a regular person picking up their own food. I finally gave up and just said I'd order from somewhere else. So I am from Kalamazoo and grew up on Taco Bob's and have been to several locations (so each one is getting a review)! More times than I will admit. People were blown away when Taco Bell came out with the Double Decker years ago, PLEASE.... that has nothing on Taco Bob's Funny Taco. Hands down, the best! Every single time I come home to visit, it is 100% required I go here and most of the time it is more than once. It is what it is. I have Ben obsessed with it even now. THIS is the location where it all started for me and my family! My older brother actually introduced me to it, THANKS BILL, and we have been in love since, from my parents, us and now my brother's kids so with all of us, our orders were pretty large. My entire family has since moved from Michigan and is in Florida but I go home the most and ALWAYS take pictures of my funny tacos to rub in their faces while I am stuffing mine! If in the Kalamazoo area, make it part of the plan for a visit at one of the 6 locations. read more

Stay away from this store. I ordered from Door Dash and when received, they left off an item (an $8.25 burrito). When I called door dash, they contacted the store and I was told it would take days to get my decsion about my refund for $8.25 (really?!?!). It did not take days, it took them minutes to decide I didn't deserve a refund, so I will dispute the charge on my card and will place a bad review wherever I can. Namaste. read more

The best WET BURRITO you will ever have in your life. As a lifelong Taco Bob's connoisseur (14 years strong ) I have tried almost all of their menu items. I've been to every location in and around Kalamazoo/Portage, but this location is THE TOP. I wish my blood type was taco bob's burrito juice. I have their bumper stickers, eat there more than twice a month, and am considering a neck tattoo. Their walking tacos, nachos, tostadas and taco salads are also fan favorites. I will never stop supporting their deliciously seasoned chips, savory and flavorful mild/hot sauces, and perfect cheese to meat ratio. read more

Taco Bob's in Portage cannot be beat for excellent drive through Mexican food, prepared quickly for a reasonable price. My husband loves the Bob's Burrito, and our son's favorite is the walking tacos. read more

The food is always delicious, and today's service was exceptionally amazing! We went through the drive-thru because their dining room is closed due to COVID-19, which we appreciate. Brad was outside in the cold, wearing a mask properly, taking orders. We had 2 separate transactions and mine was a little difficult, because I was deleting items and wanted to take it home to eat the next day. Brad had the cold items held off the tacos and burritos and suggested not to have the burritos heated there, but for me to heat them up for the first time when I got home. I just went here and ordered my food and when I got to the window to pay I was paying with cash I had a $50 bill and the cashier had asked the manager for change since he didn't have enough to give me back $15 she the manager then tells him tell them that they need to either have exact change so smaller bills mind you the window to the drive thru is open and I heard everything she had said. I couldn't believe a manager would say something like this let alone for the cashier not to have enough money in their drawer after being wrapped around the building. We have been to Taco Bobs several times over the last few years, visiting more frequently recently. The quality of food has been great. My wife and daughter love their food and have requested Taco Bobs multiple times recently. The only improvement I would like to suggest is adding more toppings to the nachos. The pictures the business owner has on yelp are misleading as my nachos probably has a fourth of the toppings compared to the photos. This won't stop me from coming back, just probably won't order the nachos again. read more

We love a Taco Bobs. We typically don't have any problems. But today when we ordered through drive thru we were sorely disappointed with the meals. We ordered three taco salads with no bowls. They came on chips (which we did not want or ask for) and wanted black olives on one which we did not get. The "salads" were the skimpiest salads we've ever received. We did not get the taco sauce we asked for either. We had to add our own extra lettuce and more cheese just to have a salad. We also had ordered 2 #3's and the rice and beans were so hard that they were inedible. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back anytime soon. read more

We held an open house at their banquet room. The staff was excellent. They kept things warm and fresh and plentiful. Very professional and low key so as not to interfere during the open house. This place is perfect for a medium sized crowd of around 40 to fifty people. We'll definitely be using this place again in the future. read more
