Stopped by Taco Boy on my way home from work at about 9 p.m. Counter woman was very polite, very cute, and attentive. I ordered 6 carnitas tacos to go. A 10 min. drive home, 20 second microwave re-heat, and chowed down. Is this carnitas? Dry, Tough, and very dark meat! Might this be carne asada, instead of pork? Doesn't carnitas get served with GREEN sauce? I "might" try this fast food location one more time. Maybe the lengua tacos are better. read more

I've had their al pastor taco, carne asada - meat only burrito, chicken burrito, and carne asada burrito. I really like their al pastor taco's maybe a little too sweet by a tad but top notch. I'm surprised there aren't that many reviews for this place yet! The Carne Asada only was a little TOO salty for me so that dropped the rating by a star. The chicken burrito though is pretty good. The regular Carne Asada burrito is a notch lower just because I just can't get over how salty their carne asada is. Maybe it is just me? Suffice it to say I went twice already within a span of 48 hours! Almost all of the clientele is hispanic so you know right off the bat its LEGIT!!! If your looking for a new place to try don't be intimidated by how foreign it looks or feels! GOOOOOOOOD TACOSSSSSSS =) The 5 stars is for the tacos. I've only gone on Taco Tuesday for the tacos, so that's the only food I'm commenting on. 75 cents per taco on Tuesday, not bad not bad! AND they're authentic tacos! Not the Americanized version. I've tried the carna asada and the carnitas with everything on top (which is something they ask, if you want everything on it). They're both very good. Meat is moist. *drools* I like the carna asada better than the carnitas though. The location: You might just miss it. It's in a small shady looking plaza near Winchell Donuts. The interior decoration: They have ghetto bench like chairs and tables. Place looks a run down inside. But don't let that fool you! Food is delish regardless of how tasteless the inside of the restaurant is. Salsa bar: Small area but they have very good salsa. Although... if stuff are everywhere on the salsa bar (like carrots or lemon wedges) they'll throw it back into the pile instead of throwing it away. Just warning you. I've been here a half a dozen times. Mostly because it's close to my favorite watering hole. Nothing fancy here, but if you wanna grab a quick bite to fill you up it'll work. Pretty good al pastor. I would say if I were really craving Mexican food and LA was just too far of a drive this would be my second or even third choice. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't terrible either. I've eaten their food several times, and really enjoy the tacos. I had the misfortune to try their taquitos today, and found them to be simply awful. They contained very little meat, and had only a subtle initial crunch, with a soft tortilla rolled up underneath. The "guacamole" and cheese left much to be desired. Thin, runny guac, and a sour pungent finely grated cheese that just didn't work. I will return to Taco Boy for the buche, cabesa, and lengua tacos, but will avoid those awful taquitos. read more

My favorite tacos would have to be there tacos de carnitas! The horchata that they sell is pretty bomb too not like the other pre-bought stuff you see at some taco places here in the OC. I don't know if it was just me but we were referred by my brother in law, he said they were the BeSt. So we drove out for lunch to try it for the first time and it wasn't so great. The locals in Anaheim have been raving about Taco Boy so I had to give it a shot. The first time I went I had a carne asada burrito, which is apparently my friend's favorite dish there. Good, but a little too salty for me. I wanted to give it another shot so I went again today. They have Taco Tuesdays, 0.75 cent tacos!! I'd have to say that the tacos were better than the burrito but like my 2-star rating says, "Meh. I've experienced better." They had carne asada, al pastor, carnitas, lengua, and tripe. I usually come here for tostadas. They're okay and a reasonable price. So I'll give it a star for that. But this place is usually dirty. As far as the tables, bathroom, salsa bar etc. But today I got my usual tostadas and when I was about to eat my 2nd tostada I noticed a foreign object in the beans when I cut the tostada in half. It had hair on it. I moved it around with my fork and it was the body of some sort of insect. The guts were cooked and had lots of arms. SUPER GROSS!! I'm never returning to the place. It was just ok. I think being mexican and living in LA with hundreds of good taco stands has made me a bit spoiled....or maybe this place just isn't THAT great.... Delicious Al Pastor and Carne Asada tacos! Their hard-shell tacos (Taco Dorados) are okay but I like how they add cotija cheese too it. They provide complimentary fried jalepenos, onions, carrots, yummy hot sauces, and radishes to cleanse your tongue. read more

I work so close to this place and it only took me 3 years... =\ But enough of that sob story. i tried the asada & pastor... both were great in my opinion.. they aren't stingy with the meat that's for sure, and even on a tuesday when i went. the parking is in a little strip mall type place. i went after normal lunch hours so it wasn't packed but i suspect parking might be a problem? i dunno... cash only place...oh they have this 1 red salsa that had me in tears! i'm not toughest guy when it comes to hot stuff, but i can take alot of hot chiles and salsas, and this 1 had my number that day! ha! .75 tuesday for tacos! i can't wait to try other things! I would give this place 3.5 stars, but taco tuesday boosts it up to 4 =P ok, these are good tacos, don't get me wrong, but they are not GREAT tacos. If you want great tacos, check out tacos jr. My friends and I all agree that tacos jr. (which is near this restaurant) have significantly better al pastor and carne asada tacos than this place. With that being said, we got the al pastor and carne asada tacos. Both of which were pretty good, but it did taste a little dry and less flavorful than other places. If you are not a taco foodie and are easily satisfied, come here because taco tuesday 75 cent tacos is pretty hard to beat. Btw, had the horchata, it was just ok. Not as good as king taco's horchata. The hot salsa was also pretty hot and tasty, but there is definitely better out there. Again, this place is really more of a 3.5 star place to me, but that price on tuesdays is hard to beat. If it is NOT a tuesday, go to tacos jr instead, you won't regret it. If it is a tuesday and you're looking for pretty good cheap grub, come here. read more

The tacos are cooked to perfection and the tortillas are nice and hot! There is a little bar where you can get extra toppings like radishes, carrots, or grilled onions as well as extra sauce/salsa.
