My sister and I were hungry after an evening at Disneyland and were looking for a late night bite to eat. Yelp saved the day with the handy dandy app and the "nearby" search option. Taco Boy came up and it was about a 3 minute drive from Disneyland. Service was nice and friendly. Young guys working the kitchen. My sister and I had hungrier eyes than stomachs so we ordered a little too much. I had the carnitas and al pastor tacos and think the al pastor tacos tasted a lot better. The carnitas was way too dry and not flavorful. My sister had the shrimp ceviche on a tostada and it was just alright. I don't think it was very fresh. We both shared the carne asada fries which only had carne asada, cheese and beans. I'm used to the ones that serve guac and sour cream along with it, so I felt that the fries were a bit lacking. The hot sauces made up for it though. Overall, not a bad stop after Disneyland, but I wouldn't go out of my way here just for so-so Mexican food. read more

Wow....there burritos are so good, sure east los is filled with lil spots like this one but to find one in Anahiem is awsome. Carne Asada burrito w/ rice beans. The meat is so tender and tasty. I ordered here via DoorDash because it was one of the taco spots closest to my home. I've never set foot in this restaurant before but very glad I ordered from here! The tacos have generous meat portions and the red salsa is very spicy and flavorful. I will definitely order take out from here again because the prices and tacos are great! My boyfriend and I come to this spot all the time for Taco Tuesday, all their tacos are $.99 each! We come here when we're undecided on where to go, after work as they open late, and obviously on Tuesday's. We always get great service no matter what time we go. Their meat isn't THE best but for what we are paying for, we come back all the time. I like getting their carne asada tacos, their cheese quesadillas, and my boyfriend gets their gorditas and tacos as well. Their posole hits the spot when I'm feeling sick or hungover, and same with their champurrado at the end of a meal. Taco Tuesday? Happens every week for me (or well I try to). The price was decent considering that it's Orange County, can't compare it to LA prices. I mean can't really complain about the taste since it was only 85 cents. I got the Carne Asada, Lengua and the Al Pastor. Considering my favorite out of the three would be the carne asada. It looked dry but had the best flavor out of the three. The Al Pastor reminded me of a beef soup which had a interested taste, definitely worth a try! But the Lengua was definitely too try for me and had a bland taste (had to drench it in lemon and sauce to get a kick out of it). With all these tacos, I also decided to get horchata. The portion sizing is huge. $1.40 for a medium and $2.40 for a large. The large wouldn't even fit in the cup holder... Totally worth it, they don't put a lot of ice either so it's definitely worth it. All in all, the service was great! The cashier was very friendly and the time to get my food was quick. I got the carne asada fries for lunch today and.... I've had better. Much better. First, the fries were kinda soggy. They should be slightly overcooked to retain a little crunch after toppings are added. The fries only came with carne asada, beans, and cheese. No sour cream, no pico de gallo, no guac, and no tomatoes. I got green salsa to put on, and though it tasted spicy, I had to use a lot to even taste the flavor. Also there is a slightly buttery/garlicy aftertaste, which I'm not particularly fond of. Overall, totally missed the spot. read more

BEST TACOS EVER. This is my go to spot for sure. I take all my friends here. But you got to keep in mind. This a street taco spot. Don't expect any sit-down El Torito-esque fan fare. This is just your straight up awesome taco and burrito joint. No frills, no nothing. Their carne asada is amazing (they have really awesome al pastor too). Lots of flavor. Not too greasy. Lots of spice too. SO SO GOOD. If you get a burrito, they use pot boiled beans instead of the refried beans, which is a huge huge plus. I usually go with 4-5 tacos with a horchata and I'm set. Their hot sauce is so good. So addicting. It's so hot, but I can't help myself. It's that damn good. If you go around 9pm, you get to watch Disneyland fireworks from inside the restaurant. Nice, right? Overall, I can't think of a better taco out there. You can't compare it to an Albertaco's or an El Farolito, because those are all different styles of mexican food. This is our go to spot for tacos because it tastes good and it happens to be closest to our home. What i like is the time frame, conveniently opened until 12 am and even later than that. For those hungry late at night this is the place. The workers in front are pretty friendly no complains. They also speak English well for those whose Spanish is none existent. There's also a diverse population getting their tacos here all the time. Asians and Caucasians. They're red sauce is firrreeeee! Spicy but yummy. I like their green sauce, good flavor They have pickled carrots and onions marinated in lemon juice as well as turnips and sliced lemons. Lines tend to get long on the weekends and on taco Tuesday. their taco price is fair considering their tacos are very good. Their pastor tacos are yummy. Although i tend to get cabeza and lengua. Their horchata and Jamaica waters are good. I love their crispy tacos or tacos dorado (not taquitos) I will say their pozole isn't the best. I didn't like personally, that's the only thing i don't like from here mainly. Their champurrado is good with tamales during winter time. I got home, they did not wrap or place food properly, the food spilled all over and the bag, utensils and napkins were all wet. Was told about this place from a coworker so I asked my wife to review this place on Yelp and surprised she said yes. So let's start with the looks of the place. To be honest, it does need a remodeling. It had good potential with being on a main street. My wife and I ordered 7 tacos di asada and the cheese quesadilla which was big and the cheese had good flavor. The meat has good flavor, but a bit dry. However, the red salsa is the BOMB!!!! Came here because it was the closest taqueria to our hotel and one that was open late after going to Disneyland. Taco Boy seemed decent since Yelp gave it 4 stars. When we got there we ordered the Carne Asada Fries. Wow it was horrible. It was literally just fries, stingy portions of meat, drenched in tons if cheese and topped with some beans. No guacamole or sour cream or lettuce or tomatos?! I was so not used to such a simple Carne Asada Fries dish! Sort of made me regret choosing to come here and I wish I had gone to Albertacos. The fries were really fresh though. The dish was just bland and lacked flavor. It needed a little bit more ingredients to enhance the flavors. I do have to say, the lady working there is super sweet. The tacos at Taco Boy are very good. If you order tacos, get them with everything on it. It is delicious. The carne asada meat is very tender, it's not dried out. With cute little mini tortillas. The chicken tacos were very moist and tender, full of flavor with just the perfect amount of salsa on each taco. I also like the fact that they have a little side salsa bar with carrots onions radishes and different types of salsas. Eat It OR Beat It? **EAT IT!!** So the past few weeks I have been having MAJOR Mexican taco cravings... and within the last 2 weeks, I've gone to 5 different taco spots: El Torito (NEVER), Matador Cantina (NEVER),Taqueria De Anda, Taqueria Mexico, , and today... TACO BOY! TACO BOY, you are amazing... and the friendly staff that works there... awesome dude! But that's not the first thing I judged this place by. I first read and heard about this place after a fellow Yelper, Chad A., had talked about his two favorite Taquerias: Taco Boy & Taqueria De Anda. Now, I had already tried Taqueria De Anda and thought it was delicious (4 stars) but when I read about Taco Boy, I knew I had to check this place out especially after looking at Chad A.'s photos!! What lured me to come here even more this Tuesday afternoon was Taco Boy's "Martes Taco's $0.75". I thought to myself... gee, tacos for $1 is what I am normally used to, but for $0.75 (NORMAL PRICES are $1.09)?? I don't know... sounds sketchy, but hell, who cares because the more downright G a Mexican place is... chances are it's AUTHENTIC! As my food idol, Mr. Bourdain says, "A little honest dirt is never an impediment to a great meal!" So my buddy and I, Christian I., went here and were greeted by a nice gentleman who after knowing it was our first time, recommended we try the Asada and Al Pastor. So, I decided to order: Tortillas: Of all the places I've tried these past few weeks, Taco Boy had the best tortillas, they were freshly warmed and slightly grilled on the flat iron grill and had a nice crunch on the sides. Asada: This was by far the best asada I've had on a taco... it was nice grilled and the meat was actual nice chunks... not diced to NOTHING. Al Pastor: WOW-E. Heaven, orgasmic, delicious, juicy, succulent, spiced, and marinated PERFECTLY! Christian I. and I just looked at each other and just said, wow. Impecable. Thus far, the BEST Al Pastor I've had and that's comparing to the tacos in L.A. too!; though I have yet to try King Taco! The marinated pork were actual chunks of pork and again, not finely diced! Carnitas: The BEST carnitas... it was shredded nicely and the tacos were stuffed and carnitas were not diced it was actually shredded... and best part... it had a nice crunch-lightly browned on the tips. Lengua: Nothing special. Just regular 'ole lengua. ONLY downsides: Salsa isn't as spicy as Taqueria Mexico. CONCLUSION: I CANNOT stress how great the quality of the tacos are here... they are NOT... I REPEAT, NOT cheap with their meat... it is ACTUAL chunks of meat that you get on your tacos and not diced to death kinda meat. The tortillas are grilled and warmed freshly and I just can't say enough great things. The man at the counter was awesome and open to criticism because he told us to let him know how it tasted and I sure as hell told him it was BOMB! Best part... service was friendly because he gave my buddy Christian I. a free horchata re-fill. Overall, Taco Boy is SPECTACULAR and you can't ask for a better Taco Tuesday deal at $0.75. So after reading the reviews on this place about the 75 cent Taco Tuesdays, I decided to give this place a try. Lucky me, this place is just around the corner from my place so I strolled over here this Tuesday and gave it a shot. I walked in and there were only a few patrons inside, and nobody in line so I got down to business right away and ordered 5 Carne Asada tacos, and 2 Al Pastor tacos. The total? 5 dollars and some change! That's amazing for some legit authentic tacos! I glanced around, and it's definitely not a place you'd want to take your date. Theres random mirrors placed around for decorations, and a TV playing novellas on Telemundo. This place is definitely a hole in the wall, but the tables and benches were clean from what I can tell. There is a salsa bar here that has pickled onions, pickled carrots, and a few different types of salsa, which is definitely a plus! I tried the pickled carrots, and the pickled onions, and they were great! It added a nice touch to the tacos, and I would recommend you try it. On to the tacos themselves, after only about a 5 minute wait, my tacos were ready, and they looked delicious! The tacos are your standard, with a little bit of onion and cilantro sprinkled on the meat, and they put they're spicy salsa on it which is really good! I found it just right with a nice kick but nothing over the top. I sprinkled some lime on all of my tacos, and took my first bite of the Al Pastor. It was DELICIOUS! The Al Pastor taco was very flavorful and yummy! I'd put it up there with the Al Pastor tacos I've tried. Next we move on to the Carne Asada. The Carne Asada taco was good, but not great. It wasn't as good as some of the better carne asada tacos i've had before, but it was still decent. I'd definitely say go for the Pastor tacos here, they really shine! Oh after I finished my tacos, this place started filling up and soon every table filled up. The workers were fast and efficient and got the line moving though so it's not a long wait. All in all, these tacos hit the spot, and for 75cents on Taco Tuesdays, you definitely CANNOT go wrong. I would definitely come here on Tuesdays, and even if it isn't taco tuesdays, the tacos are only $1.09 so they're cheap enough and totally worth it. I will be back! read more
