My favorite foodie activity is to visit places that have been on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. While this place isn't the original location, I still expected the great taste to be there. I ordered a Chicken Torta (Sandwich) with rice. While I know this isn't the most authentic Mexican inspired dish on the menu it still lacked major flavor. The sandwich comes with mayo which over powered the entire sandwich. I tried eating the chicken and rice filling by itself but tasted no flavor at all. Very bland. Three stars because the food was filling, it was a good price for the portion, and at least the Torta bread was good. If I do try Taco Bus again I will not get the Torta. {F.o.F} read more

I normally order from your Orlando location. I was super excited when I passed your location in Tampa and later on realized you were available on UberEats. Big mistake on my part. Your customer service at the Tampa location is absolutely horrible! We ordered 6 shrimp tacos, a coke & bottled water. Only ended up receiving 2 tacos with 1 shrimp each inside and the bottle of water. As you may not know, having this fixed through UberEats is a one off and you'd be lucky to be refunded what you're missing. Unfortunately we were not lucky enough for this! I've heard some rumors about Taco Bus lately but my most recent experience wss great and has been each time I come here. This place is perfect for a post concert quick and cheap genuine Mexican meal as it's right down the street fromm the Amphitheatre. Yes, it's not free standing like most other locations and it's inside a gas station but what other place is open at 11 on weekday that'll cook food fresh to go. I ordered Papos witb Shrimp, guacamole, sour cream and queso and it was excellent. I purchased a watermelon water from the behind the counter inside an Icee looking thing (you have to ask to be given one) but the drink itself was enough for me to return. Ordered on Uber eats for late night munchies. This was by far the worst food I have ever eaten. The beans tasted chemically and were the consistency of mashed potatoes. The steak burrito was so watery and literally leaking juice out the bottom and saturated my plate. The steak had no flavor. It was like a mush mess. I asked to have all the veggies and toppings and they couldn't even manage to do that. The salsa was so watery and non flavorful. The chips tasted stale. My original intention was to go in to the gas station and get my pump receipt, but after seeing this extremely well put together restaurant inside I just had to try it out. There was plenty of parking in the lot, may have been due to the late hour we went. Inside, it was pretty empty spare the workers at the actual taco bus and the man working the gas stations cashier. Ordering here was fast and simple. Their menu had quite a few selections and was clear what was what. The lady taking our order was very friendly and information about the menu. She was able to recommend a few things as well as answer any question we may have had. Tip: try the Mexican soda! I had the pineapple and it was pretty tasty I do say so. (Normally, I don't drink soda of any sort). After we ordered, we sat down. Yes, they do have a sitting area that's connected to the joint which is super sauce. There was plenty of spots to choose from and the tables and chairs were clean. It may have been less than 10 mins and we all had our food. And boy was it good! I had the simple carnitas meat with the normal fixings. My mouth watered! Bonus: there was enough in my taco to save until the next day. So I made the one taco I ordered into two since they doubled my corn tortillas. Definitely if you're in the area and need a pronto bite to eat on a small lunch break, this is yalls stop. read more

Stopped here by accident and so glad we did!! I am vegan and our son has dairy, egg and gluten allergies so it's not often we can easily find things for us to quickly grab while on the road. The gentleman behind the counter was not very customer service oriented amd never smiled or made positive eye contact. I waited for my food for a while and watched as he either rolled his eyes or just ignored customers. In fact, he asked my girlfriend to go get ice from the gas station side for her drink because they ran out. What kind of service is this? Ordered steak tacos with no cheese; received tacos overloaded with cheese. And so on. In addition, food was flavorless, overcooked, cold. Not to mention, way too expensive for the quality of food and the attitude of an incompetent server. Go somewhere else. There's much better food elsewhere.
