I visited Crazy Burrito on a Friday evening just after 6:00 when happy hour ends. Everyone cleared out after actually and we missed the $1.99 chips and salsa by 3 minutes but no biggie! We ordered the green chili chicken enchiladas, and the Birria tacos were flavorful and I could only eat one and tried the enchilada but it lacked flavor as did the refined beans and rice. Totally bland. We had to ask for service when we arrived but once thy noticed us we were quickly served. I don't think I will be returning as nothing from the experience is calling me back and there are tons of Mexican restaurants to try nearby. read more

We waited over 20 minutes for our food, even though we only ordered four items.. just tacos and a sope. That felt like a long wait for such a small order. As for the food, it might be as close to authentic Mexican as you'll get in Tampa. The asada tacos and sope weren't your typical asada if you're familiar with traditional Mexican flavors, but for this area, they're pretty good. There isn't much truly Mexican food around here that hasn't been Americanized or influenced by other cuisines. The salsas weren't spicy at all, and the green ones didn't have much flavor, which was a bit disappointing. As a Mexican, I'd still recommend this spot if you're craving something more traditional, but I wouldn't call it fully authentic. Based on what I tried, I'd give it a 6/10. read more

I always make a pit stop here whenever I am in town! The place is run down but it's the best place to get birria tacos. It's loaded with shredded beef and the most authentic it can get. Got a BOGO order for 1 orders of Flautas and 2 elotes though Uber eats. I got my order and was missing the elotes. I get accidents can happen it wasn't the drivers fault, so I called to ask if I could pick it up. Bottom line, the lady who answered the phone states that lately Uber drivers have been taking items out from bags... The bag came to us intact.. no room to put another two boxes. Surprised that we were able to find a place that offered tofu as a protein option, so we stopped here. Admittedly, I went with something boring-a chicken bowl. Their burritos all sounded awesome but for various dietary reasons, I went with something more basic. My lady got their tofu bowl, too. We also got a side of white queso and chips. As I said, it was all very good but not amazing. Great portion size-was really two meals-so it was a great value. And it was certainly good enough for a repeat visit, especially given that they have a vegetarian option that isn't just veggies and beans. I couldn't even tell you why I'm not going five stars. There is a pretty decent amount of options on the menu. I of course tried the Birria tacos with queso. Typically they do not come with cheese so make sure to add it. The meat itself reminded me of roast beef. It was okay. The broth was rather tasty. I also ordered a campenchano taco and dipped it in the sauce. It was perfection. I think I prefer it.
