This location is not good. The people are rude, and the food is sub par. I went there yesterday. I've been to this location a few times, and it's always just average Mexican food. I wouldn't mind, but it's the rudeness of the employees that has driven me away forever. I went there yesterday afternoon. They weren't busy, I walked in, and was ignored. After a bit, a man who looked like the manager came up to the counter. I greeted him nicely, and he just asked what I wanted to order. No greeting at all. When my order was ready, the girl shoved the tacos at me. I said thank you, she said nothing. Just rude. I want them to know I will never go to Taco Cabana again. I can do better elsewhere. Waited 30 minutes without receiving my food. No exaggeration - I checked the time stamp on the receipt. Finally asked for a refund, as did several other customers. There were easily 15 people standing around waiting for their orders. And the iced tea tasted terribly bitter as if it had been made the day before. Something is/was clearly broken there. This is nightshift, drive through, friday night after the bars had closed. I should have known better, but I complicated the order by requesting just tortillas and guacamole. When I drove up to the window, I was asked if I ordered a pound or a half pound. Ran through the order again stating a full pound. Got home, opened the bag, felt the weight of the box and noticed the lightness. It did not feel like a full pound. Opened it up, looked like a half pound. Got back home after going back to here the first time, things still didn't sit well with me, weighed it (Like I should have the first time, before wasting theirs) and low and behold, 0.5 lbs. Suspicion confirmed, I went back with the box of fajitas. They weighed it, brought it back to me in a bag, I went home, and when weighing it again.... 1.5 lbs. Truth be told... After this, I'm not even completely sure I was right to go back the 1st time, let alone the second. But.... And this is important, I went back with a glass I perceived half empty and came home with a cup unmistakably overflowing. This is Customer Service. Am I mad? How could I be? If anything, I'm worried about the girl running the window losing her job WHICH IS THE LAST THING I WOULD EVER WANT OUT OF THIS, AND IS PROBABLY THE BIGGEST REASON I'M POSTING THIS. People make mistakes. These things happen. But this mistake was corrected. And I'm as thankful as I am obligated to plead with you not to fire her for this. Getting called into work, I decided to stop by taco cabana for dinner. I tried the flame broiled chicken tacos that they were advertising. When I took a bite from the tacos, I noticed that the chicken was very dry and it had striations that were perpendicular to the length of the meat. I also noticed that the septum that holds both breast's together was oddly apparent in a slice and it lacked in texture. One can only assume that I was eating compressed chicken that is formed into a chicken breast. I'm very disappointed with the direction that TC has taken. read more

Horrible first impression of Taco Cabana. I went with a friend last week and when we walked in not one staff member acknowledged our presence. We had to get someone's attention to say "Hi, are you still open?". Not even a "Hi, guys! We will be right with you!". We ordered our food finally and were given a number to bring to the table with us. The salsa bar had no serving utensils. When we asked for some from a staff member (obviously stoned) his response was "Uuuuuhhhh..". Not a big deal, we just grabbed some plastic spoons to serve ourselves salsa. The tables were all filthy. The chairs were all over the place and disorderly. The floor had food all over it. We heard the manager screaming "Number Nine!!!" At the top of her lungs. It took us a minute to realize she was not yelling to her staff but she was screaming for us to come get our food. (I thought this was the point of getting a number stand to being to the table with us?? Not a big deal but she was very rude.) Our food was okay but the customer service we received was atrocious and I would stay away from this location. This location needs some serious leadership. read more

Placed an order online for my husband on the way home from the gym, my credit card was charged for the order, but when I went in the store to pick it up there was no order there. the cashier went to check the computer and a manager of some sort came out to explain to me that they never received the order. I asked ok while I was charged for the order so whats the next step and his response was that it must have gone to another store. again I asked so what is he going to do about it because I was 100% sure I sent it to this store and I was not going to drive around town to every Taco Cabana looking for the order (that clearly showed it went to that store) he said there was nothing that he could do, so I asked for a refund since he wouldn't make the food and I wasn't going to drive around town. Again he said that there was nothing that he could do, I would have to contact the store it went to, so I asked again as taco cabana the company who has now charged me for food I am obviously not going to be bringing home what he could do for me his response was a shrug and nothing. read more

The street tacos were quite different and better than when I had gotten them last time. The service was also improved though not 100% professional. The comeback is real. This place is completely ran by trash customer service, I literally just witnessed employees swipe the card for the car in front of me and the employees proceeded to tell him he hadn't paid. He pulled up his account. The manager came over being rude and said "If he doesn't want to pay for it jusylt give it to him." He offered to get what was charged refunded and run his card again. ROACH'S ARE FREE- I stopped by the Taco Cabana at Parmer and Mopac a couple of weeks ago during the evening. I should had asked for a refund as afterwards I noticed roaches running around. Go during the evening after dark and you will see cock roaches running around if its warm enough - inside and outside. Maybe some people enjoy roach taco's as protein in their meals - but I don't. Worst taco cabana ever!! and this is coming from a TC fan. The food has gone downhill and the service was horrible!!!! I wasnt wearing my glasses and had some questions anout the menu, boy did the cashier seem anoyed that i was making her talk! I actually asked what came with the taco combo and she said, 2 tacos, a drink, and chips with your choice of queso or guacamole. I said, ok , ill take one. then she hands me a soda cup and i wanted coffee, but she didnt know that because she didnt ask! SO THEN WE GET OUR FOOD...... i got the tiniest taco in the world!! it was the size of my palm!! and im a small female, so it was literraly a 3 inch taco! i took a pic,and will try to post it. i didint say annything because the staff was already intimidating, plus i didnt want anybody to spit in my food! things were so bad at this location, i wouldnt put it past them! This was an overall pretty good meal but nothing special. I ordered the taco plate with extra rice and was impressed with the consistency and moisture of the rice. This specific franchise has a pleasing atmosphere which is one of the reasons why I favor it compared to other Taco Cabanas around town. The staff is inattentive but since there is not much interaction it is hard to report more. Recommended not for a formal dinning but more of a casual meal with family or friends. read more

Maya and I just had an early lunch and she had the steak fajita tacos. The first taco was fine the second one she said tasted funny she spit it out and we opened the taco the meat was green. I asked for the manager and showed her the taco...she proceeds to tell me that the meat comes that way and it cooks that way. You actually serve green meat. I have been to this Taco Cabana several times over the years and it is marginal at best but when in a hurry...But today when I went through the drive thru, I was asked if I wanted hot sauce and as usual, I responded yes and extra please. The lady never looked at me and then threw 2 hot sauces in the bag. I asked her if I could have 2 more. She did not say or look at me and grabbed one more. I again said, "Can I have one more", and she rudely turned around and went to where more were being assembled. I could see that some sauces were just sitting there without the tops on. I could not see what she was doing but when she brought one more, she dropped it in the bag and handed me the bag rather roughly and then let out this evil laugh. It's just hot sauce...but the way she acted made me worried she did something to the sauce so I did not eat it. Easter Sunday morning, I get it. You're understaffed but thats no excuse for violating the health code. The register messed up , and the manager grabbed another cash drawer and just opened another register... .while still wearing the plastic gloves she was cooking with... which she went right back to cooking without changing them out. Five of us waiting patiently in line all turned and left. Went down the street to Rudys and picked up a ton of tacos with no waiting. The girl who took our order asked us to repeat our entire order AFTER we had told her everything we wanted because she didn't put anything in her computer and giggled about it, then their cook was popping steak cubes in his mouth as he was preparing our order and took off his gloves in the middle of making our food. Finally, after 45 minutes of waiting in the, not busy, drive-thru, we were able to go home and find out that it was another wrong order. Will not give this place another $!! I always dread coming to this TC with the rude customer service, on top of constantly being out of rice or flautas just cus they are too lazy to make them. We have lived next door for 5 years so it's always convenient. Probably order 5x a week but it's always something. Today, let me tell you was the last of TC for our family. Rushing my son to practice only having 10 min to spare my son wanted TC. I waited through the drive thru ordered 3 plates & gave the cashier a $100 bill. She instantly said she didn't have change. I noticed she hadn't even opened her cashier drawer to check, so I asked her to ask the manager for change because that's all I had on me at the time. She talked to the manager several times never once did he come to the window. Finally, I spoke up & said that there were several cars behind me waiting, honking, if they could please allow me to pay for my food & my son was going to be late for practice. After 10 minutes of waiting, the manager came to the window & said to me that they are not taking $100 dollar bills because it's CInco de Mayo weekend. Mind you today is Friday, May 4th! I said WTH?? does cinco de Mayo have to do with you not allowing me to pay for my food? Denying me food, when I've given you $, yet my son has practice & your blaming us because you as a manager was irresponsible & doesn't have change for $100 on Friday or yet just making up excuses! Seriously, That is the most stupidest thing I have ever heard that your not going to take my $100 bill to pay for my 3 plates that I ordered cus it's Cinco de Mayo weekend!! Ah Taco Cabana, when you think of this restaurant you probably think of a nicer Taco Bell. Un fortunately they do not earn this status. I've gone in multiple times and my order was taken incorrectly and there staff was not the friendliest people. They never have a good attitude and you're always met at the cashier by an uninterested employee. This current time I simply ordered the Beef fajita platter. With refried beens. The Fajitas were tasty how ever yet again I was given normal beans instead. My only other complaint is it isn't really worth the price you pay for the quality of food.
