First let me say that the employees at Taco Cabana were very friendly and had smiles like they were glad to see me, which was awesome. But the rest of my review is super sad actually. Taco Cabana has been my GO TO for Mexican fast food for a long time. They've always had fresh food with amazing flavors. Miss those brisket street tacos. Miss the grilled shrimp tacos also! Taco Cabana was open 24 hours until the Covid scare, and now closes at midnight, and opens at 6am. I haven't gone in the morning recently, so I'm not sure about their breakfast menu. Last time I did though, the breakfast tacos were dry, flavorless, and did not seem fresh. They seemed old. I chalked it up to just a bad day, at the time. But today I ordered the favorites still available online, set an order time that should have meant my food was fresh, and drove to pick it all up. The chips weren't stale, but tasted of old grease. The guacamole tasted more of vinegar than avocado. The tomatoes were chewy. My cheese enchiladas were not tasty. It's like they forgot to put the seasoning in the cheese. The cheese inside the enchilada is just flavorless. The queso on the top just seems salty, and not really cheesy, but almost watery; and the tomatoes in the queso were also chewy. This has not been my usual experience with Taco Cabana. Usually, the enchiladas, guacamole, and chips are delicious, both flavor- and texture-wise. This meal might have been something out of a can. They forgot to put the street in my Street Corn. It was just canned corn with cheese on top. There was no street corn seasoning, or creamy street corn sauce, like before. It had just canned corn water at the bottom that tasted like a can. Even the cheese on top of the corn was just a big, wet, glob, and was tasteless. The refried beans tasted of vinegar like the guac. The rice was very chewy. The flavor of the rice was good, but it wasn't pleasant to eat. I'm hoping that Taco Cabana managers will see this review, and rediscover the love for food they had in the first place, and make appropriate changes to bring the quality back up to what it was when I discovered it. read more

Just parked in the curbside parking to pick up a catering order. Anthony came to see what my order was with a big smile. I told him I was about to step in to grab my catering order. I apologized for parking in curbside pick up and he said "Don't worry about it. Is your order the big one?" He brought my food out and it was ready earlier than expected. I ordered 6 street tacos with extra cheese order token by Breezy, my total came out to $16.43. Karen Kotera (and she lives up to her name a KAREN) put the order together she puts no cheese on the second order. When I asked why she claims I only asked for cheese on one order when I told her to have Breezy to come back to the window she didn't. I left called up there for corporate number and the KAREN hung up on me but she's suppose to be an Assistant Manager, ignorant ass lady. After she hung up on me and I returned to the store because she thought I was gone, her eyes got big when she saw me walking in then she wants to offer to remake my food, don't think so, won't spit in my food. Used the drive-through on a Friday evening to buy a $43 order of family fajitas. I live about 30 minutes away, when I got home I had everything but the fajitas. Several calls were never returned, emails were never replied to. Very disappointed. I understand this was an honest mistake, but a call back or email would've been appreciated. hold up! $2 margs served here!! And they're actually not bad at all! I wasn't expecting them to hand me my own little alcohol bottle plus the slushie so that I can add together myself. Very cool! I thought it was going to be a very watered down alcohol type syrupy drink. Which was not the case. I ordered the bean and cheese combo which was very filling, although I ended up gulping down my marg first thing. So that may have had something to do with it lol. Either way, tacos tasted great. The queso for the chips was way better than I expected from a $4 combo, I must say. I was expecting more of a canned cheese taste which I didn't get. And the salsa was fresh! Should have noticed there was already an issue when I'm the only one in line, no one acknowledged me for several minutes, and there were 5 people standing around waiting for their orders! Took forever and it was not busy at all. Then their salsa bar was closed! So to get what you would normally want from the salsa bar was a big challenge in itself! Enough to just walk out and give up! I was craving enchiladas but needed to be quick in order to get to an afternoon meeting. I saw this place from a distance and decided to try my luck. Upon ordering, discovered that I could not substitute my enchilada plater to include one of each offering. This surprised me... was I the only one who's ever asked for such a thing? They have cheese enchiladas, chicken and ground beef as well as platers which included beans and rice... but couldn't manage the complex inner workings to get me one of each enchilada... here's a trick, just charge me for the most expensive enchilada plater and get me one of each... you would think this would be an easy feat to accomplish but maybe I was expecting to much. Anyway... got to the window and proceeded to pay only to be notified that they did not have enough money to break my $100 bill... also, Apple Pay was not available... in 2024... from a franchise, fast food restaurant... ok... well then, I went next door to McDonalds and bought an apple pie in order to break change THEN had to go back and get my enchiladas... not the best experience... Don't do it. Just my word of advice- three little words that will save your money, time and energy. I placed an order two days in advance for breakfast tacos for my staff and when I came to pick up it wasn't even being worked on. Now listen to my three words "don't do it" and I'm clapping my hands saying it. Seriously. After speaking to someone inside I was told that they had nine boxes, 8 boxes etc to make and it would be ready when it will be ready. Sorry. Not good enough. If your problem becomes my problem then it's now an issue. Hire accordingly and get the right staff to fulfill your orders. I know we're in a Covid world at the moment but that doesn't mean you disrespect your customers. If your going to close the dinning room put a sign up so your customers don't walk in and order and think they can sit down to eat. And don't have your staff be rude because your customer doesn't know they can't eat in the restaurant because you didn't put a sign up. T'ron (Hispanic tattoo guy) properly greeted me on arrival, told me dr pepper was out prior to my order which was awesome because alot of people don't say anything, order correct, customer service skills was on point. He even checked on me while I waited(they were busy). He was working both FOH and BOH and treated every customer the same. We don't have TC in Decatur so this was a treat. Just rolled up to Taco C here at N. Beach, walked in and was informed that it would be a 20+ minute wait. When I inquired as to why, I was told that the drive-through and online orders were back up. This was my first visit and my last. I came here because my usual breakfast place was temporarily closed. I have passed this place many times and thought of stopping in. I should have just kept going. There was a fairly long drive-through line, but there were only two customers ahead of me inside the store, and the dining room was nearly empty. I placed an order for two chorizo and potato breakfast tacos. It took them 29 minutes to get my order to me. Another customer who came in after me got served before me. The thing became so obvious that even someone in the kitchen, who was not involved with my order, tapped her co-worker on the shoulder, pointed to me, and said, "That man has been waiting, like, half an hour." When the worker she had said that to, brought me my order, she simply said, "Here you go." No "Sorry for the delay," or anything. They did throw in an extra taco. The tacos were tasty but pretty skimpy. I was masked, and all staff were masked, and almost all customers, but I really hadn't planned to spend half an hour in an enclosed public space. Had I known this would happen, I would not have come. The staff seemed to be working diligently enough. No one was obviously slacking off. Again, they did have a long drive-through line, and they may have been preparing some sizable pickup orders. But it appears they simply forgot my order until 25 minutes after I placed it. I, proceeded to report the behavior to the manager, who was dismissive and did not handle the situation to my liking. I, nor my family and friends will ever eat at this location again. My husband went specifically to get a breakfast box - build your way (like we saw online). We needed a quick bite before our daughter's basketball practice. When he arrives we're told we can't customize the box. He asked if there was salsa on the bag, they said yes. Only to find out there was none. 12 tacos and no salsa smh. So he went back and they gave him a hard time about asking for salsa. Training is needed and please revise the menu if you're no longer offering that item. read more

I'm done with this location. There has not been one time that I've decided to "give it another shot" and my order ended up wrong or a number of items were missing from order. I used to have such a great experience at another TC location before I moved back to Fort Worth, but the service at this location is awful, the food is incredibly overpriced and is always cold, and workers are rude. $28 for a cold Mexican pizza, two cold crunchy tacos and a cold fajita PLATE that was missing all of the toppings and rice and beans sides. Fixed the issue with door dash and called Taco Cabana and just let them know what occurred. I was told by the general manager, Tron Williams, that "I shouldn't jump to conclusions.
