Went to this location and I ordered the cabana bowl with steak and chicken. And potato and egg tacos. The steak in the bowl was burnt and the taco shell for the potato and egg was not done. Chaotic!!! Stay away! We walked in and stood for five minutes and was never acknowledged. They finally looked at us but still never said a word. The menu board was showing sideways making it difficult to find anything you might want. We just walked away (we left)! The service was awful, my mom had to yell at the woman for her to hear us, she repeated our order back correctly but when we got to the window she didn't charge us for our carne asada tacos and didn't give them to us and got the amount of drinks wrong, and took such a long time to get our food. I absolutely loved and appreciated being greeted gleefully as I entered the door. The restaurant was empty and super cold-not sure what's going on because whenever I pass by TC, the parking lot is empty. Prior to the pandemic, the lot was always full and the drive-thru as well. The restaurant was very clean, loved the music and the volume level was perfect. The young lady (tall, pretty and wearing a light grey shirt) was attentive, asked me if it was my first visit and if I was dining in or take out. I had questions for her and she answered them wisely. She had a slight issue entering information into the POS system so she called her manager. I didn't like the way the manager handled the situation, she reprimanded her for a simple mistake (she was wearing gloves when attempting to enter data) in front of me. This is an action of belittling your employee, si tienes que llamarles la atención, hazlos cuando ya no estén los clientes presente. It's embarrassing and degrading to be disrespected especially in front of patrons. I went there to try the pizza and it was okay but had an aftertaste. I won't be having it again. The dragonfruit margarita that the cashier suggested however was yummy. By the time I left, there were about 20-25 people in the restaurant which is pretty good. This location deserves zero stars.... I was attending an event in the area and decided to stop to pick up some breakfast tacos for the event. After waiting to order I started to regret my decision to come here. There is so much wrong with this location--the following were the two worst issues: 1. Cleanliness. There was spilled soda on the floor and most of the tables were dirty. Workers were wearing the same plastic gloves they prepared food in to take orders outside-I never observed them changing the gloves when they returned to the kitchen. 2. They are sorely under staffed. Appears to be a busy TC, but the staff doesn't reflect their customer count. Service is painfully slow. After waiting 20 mins for a dozen breakfast tacos, I cancelled my order and left. Whoever manages this location should be ashamed. It makes no sense to operate a restaurant with minimal staff and poor service. The east Houston area is growing but in the meantime the restaurant choices are not many...id say find another Taco Cabana, but you'll have to drive a while. read more

Actually - no stars - I refuse to go back to taco Taco Cabana on Uvalde in Houston ever again! I been 3 times and I said I wasn't going back after the first time - 2nd time It wasn't my decision to go but not too many other places were open -- I was happy with the service that time because the cashier didn't know what she was doing and served us delicious margaritas -- uuum she didn't know that was illegal I guess---. There has not been one time when I've went here and didn't have an issue with the lack of product knowledge and just blatant attitude from managers. For some reason this location does not like to honor the promos that they post weekly on all Taco Cabana social media outlets. EVERY TIME they argue with me about what THEIR own company is promoting. The food and service are good but it's not the cleanest place. The salsa bar is gross. There was a jacket sleeve caught in the stainless steel sliding doors (that lead to the employee area) dangling inches from the salsa station. I wanted salsa but I couldn't bring myself to eat it. I've been here a few times for the street tacos and beef fajita nachos. My experience was comparable to that of other TC locations. Going on a weekday for dine-in during lunch means you will be waiting a bit longer for your food than I would prefer, but it's not a big deal to me simply because TC is a step above fast food in my opinion. read more

This is THE WORST Taco Cabana in America. Every time we rarely go it's an absolute nightmare, they can't get the simplest things right. We ordered two taco plates, very simple. I Rarely go to fast food restaurants and especially the drive-through. Today I was reminded why. It took me a half an hour behind A car that got one bag of food to get one freaking shrimp taco. Even when I pulled up to the window to get my Tiny little shrimp taco they said that it would be a bit longer because they had to thaw out the shrimp. You'd thing for the already poor food quality they'd make up for it by being fast but nope, this taco cabana is intent on taking the "fast" out of "fast food". If you don't want to do the full restaurant scene and want some great Tex-Mex selections this is the place. I know each visit will differ and on the particular occasion it was very unsatisfactory. Upon entering there was no kind of greeting just the question of are you dinning in or is this to go. I placed my order which consisted of Steak Fajita Taco Plate and a large order of chips & Queso. I made my way to serve myself a drink and there was a spill or leak of some kind right in front of the fountain drink area. Cup lids and straw wrappers around the counter area and the Salsa bar was just as bad with spills and empty condiment containers along with selections that didn't look fresh or maintained. I sat in a dinning room surrounded by tables that needed to be wiped down and a floor that clearly needed to be swept. There is absolutely no excuse for the above. I was given my food and prepared myself to make the best of it. The steak fajitas seemed to be a little over cooked and overly spiced. The rice and beans were ok and the chips were a little greased, the cheese was however good. Clearly not the best experience this time around at this Taco Cabana location. The kitchen prep area seemed clean enough, but I regret eating there after going to the bathroom to wash my hands. Unfortunately I don't think I will ever go here again. This place was cool when my cousin told me about it, and we ate in San Antonio, the food was excellent. I got stuck in the drive through line sitting still for 15 min,, without anyone moving. 6 vehicles ahead of me, i decided to honk my horn and back up out of the line. Why cant they pull customers with larger orders forward like other restaurants? This wasn't the first bad experience i've had there. I just recently went there last week and ordered 4 barbacoa tacos with lime and cilantro. They took a long time as well then, i was the only one in line. My food was cold and bland. The tacos where skimpy and hardly had any meat on them. When I got to work i was furious to find out that they had left off the Cilantro, they forgot my hot sauce, and forgot my limes. read more

Their internet didn't work. I went there because I could work and eat. It wasn't a CLOSE drive either. I was very disappointed when I got there and the food wasn't so good, (smaller portions than normal) and there was no internet working. I asked the employees and nobody, not even the manager knew anything about the wireless internet. The worst customer service I have ever encountered. No customers inside the restaurant so you wouldn't think it would take 20 minutes to get one order of nachos ready along with one kids meal. Visit was on Monday 3/27/17 at 7:44 pm and 6-7 employees behind the counter and no customers in front of us while in line. The drive thru line was not backed up so that could not be the excuse as to why our meal was delayed. I placed yet another order for a shrimp TP QSA and a bean and cheese taco. Would you believe it took another 20 minutes for that to come out. 10 minutes after the order had been placed I inquired about our food and was told, 'It's coming'. Well I know it's coming but when? Yup another 10 minutes. Oh and my child's chips were STALE and when I returned them and asked for fresh chips because these were stale, I was received with serious attitude and eye rolling. I used to order to go due to late getting off and not enough time to cook. I always order cabana bowl and lately their customer service is so poor. I ordered extra rice at one time and they forgot to add to the bag. I called the Manager and I was told to come back and they will give me the rice plus my order. I asked for her name and she gave it tome. The next day we stopped by and the person at the window said no, we will only give you the extra rice that was missing. I asked for the manager and they said she's off. So, I left without the rice. I will not buy anything from this location again. read more

There has been a recent change in management and apparently Taco Cabana took heed to all complaints because their customer service has vastly improved. My family/friends and I had been refusing to go there after we all had similar horrible customer service experiences but that has changed. I do not think management has helped at all. Last week I went through the drive thru and ordered a beef cabana bowl no tomatoes or lettuce. Got home and had a bowl with rice, lettuce, tomatoes, no meat. Went thru a few minutes ago and ordered two crispy tacos with queso. Got home had two brisket tacos on soft tortilla. im writing this review because this taco cabana goes above and beyond with their customer service, they make it horrible intentionally. i had a bad experience with this one in the past with a very specific grey haired night manager. the day time management made it up to me...so a few months later i decide to give them another shot. at my usual dinner time around 1:30 am i go and order a couple bean and cheese burritos and queso well the manager must have recognized the order because he personally handed i to us AND DIDNT GIVE US OUR CHANGE! it was only 20 or so cents so we just let it slide he was giving us very rude looks....well on the outside the burritos looked fine and the cheese was actually good....but the beans and cheese were separated in he burritos and the cheese was not melted (not a HUGE deal) but the beans have a VERY weird flavor....they were cold and tasted old....i dont wan to have another confrontation with this manager so im not bringing the food back this time....but this is the last straw unless this guy is fired or something else i WONT be ordering from here again! read more
