This is definitely not the "King" of fast food taco/Tex-Mex restaurants in this area, but they are very tasty. The problem I have is for less money I can get Taco Bell or Taco Bueno ) meals for the price of the nacho supreme here (they're just down the street a few stores; and they are comparable on some Taco Casa's cheaper items-even on taste. The tacos and iced tea are about the only reasonably priced items (for a fast food place) on the menu. The seating is ample, and good for groups, like youth sports teams or a few teens, who are usually the people I have seen here. This was a solid 2.5 for me, but since you can't do half-star ratings on Yelp, I'll be nice at give it a 3. We've eaten a lot of Mexican, Tex-Mex, and Ameri-Mex food in our time, both in DFW and elsewhere. This just didn't do it for either one of us. Taco Delite is the most comparable restaurant to Taco Casa that I can think of, and they beat them in both taste and price. For lunch we shared nachos and a small drink, I had a taco, and DH had a burrito. Grand total was just under $15. The nachos were kind of odd. In one corner was the sour cream, in another beans, in another ground beef, and in the last corner was the tomatoes. Makes it a little weird when you wanted all of those things on your chip so you can dip each individual chip four times. Also, straight up Ricoh's cheese sauce out of the can. Taco was okay as was the burrito. It wasn't terrible but I would never go out of my way to come here. Food did come out extremely fast and the woman who took our order was very nice. I'm not sure what has happened regarding the quality of what is being put out at this location lately but I was not impressed. I ordered a chili burger and I can only imagine that maybe they were running low on meat but it was practically non existent. Everyone working behind the counter was very young and there didn't seem to be any solid management in place. I've been a long time customer of this location and hope they can get it together. I was there on a Sunday at around 7pm and it was a ghost town. If they don't work on their quality control soon they may not be in business for much longer. read more

I just had to stop and see for myself why the parking lot is always packed and even the drive-thru keeps a line at all times of the day. I joined the drive-thru line out to the street for a quick bite. Pulled up to the monitor and ordered a Super Burrito. I wasn't' sure what to expect from the looks of the drive-thru menu. I was starving so as soon as I was handed my order, I took a bit before even pulling out of the parking lot. I love Taco Casa. It's some of the freshest and tastiest taco joints I frequent. It's too bad that the location on Broadway in Garland does not stand fit to be called Taco Casa. The service was unwelcoming and when a word was finally said to me I was blamed for the drive thru girl not handing me my entire order. When I got back home I found that the Super Tostada was missing olives and tomatoes and the Super Tacos hardly had cheese. I was not slightly surprised when I bit into my Taco Delites and found they were chewy and not crispy. The delites some how seemed stale for what was suppose to be fresh. I gave them two stars because I just finished eating my food and have not given the food enough time to make my stomach sick, yet.... The drive-thru line at this location is always wrapped around the building, so it's much easier and faster for you to go in to get your food, even if you think you'll be late if you get out of your car. I am a self confessed Taco Casa addict and just like any true junky when your dealer starts charging more for less or starts trying to give you the run around, you have to let that sucka know, you PAY his salary. I promise you there is always some competition looking for you to spend your hard earned rupees with them instead! This location is like a pox on the Taco Casa Chain's otherwise pristine, virginal, SPF 100 skin. I have gone to this one many times and have finally had enough. Why do you suck so bad store #29? Its just so damn frustrating! It all started with a Tea About 2 years ago (shows how long Ive been cutting this place slack), I ordered a large tea for 99 cents because I also ordered a super Item. When I got to the window I noticed I was charged full price, the girl at the window acted like I was the one who created this problem. I told her I wasn't really sweating 50 cents, but when you say its a buck, it should be a buck. She proceeds to tell me that even though she is the one who rang it in wrong there is no way for her to delete it now. I said cant a manager delete the tea and re ring it? She was like yea but he is in the office, at this point I decided shit was obviously not really firing properly in this girls head and decided to just eat the 50 cents and go about my day. I actually started harping on this incident a little later in the day and decided to call the manager on duty because this chick needed to understand the concept of making things right. The response I got from the manager was pretty much an "Alright I will let her know." Not an "I'm sorry we basically stole 50 cents from you" or " Come have a Taco on me, sir, sorry for the inconvenience." Strike One. Strike Two was when they quit doing Taco Tuesday like every other Taco Casa in the Dallas-Metro Plex. Are you really that cheap you cant make one day a day to save two dollars? I guarantee what you lose in discount you make up for in volume. Strike Three was when I got stuck behind some guy cleaning his car out at the trashcan they put out about 3 feet in front of the pass through window for a solid 5 minutes. When the guy finally drove off and I pulled up, I simply mentioned to the cashier that if they where to move the trashcan another ten feet down there little sidewalk, people could pull up to the window AND that guy could clean his car. She said in a very rude and confrontational voice, " Well, I am not a manager and I don't make decisions like that. " This is when I replied with, "Well maybe you could make mention of it to the higher ups and save us all a little trouble in the future." After that she was nice, but secretly deep down inside we both knew from that moment on where the Taco Line had been drawn. Strike Four was about 4 months ago when I ordered a bean burrito and basically got a single bite of beans and a whole lotta tortilla and red sauce. Anyone who has been to a Taco Casa before knows that this is not the norm, usually every item you get from them is loaded with ingredients. Strike Five was when I ordered a bean burrito and I got a meat burrito, luckily I caught this before pulling away (BC I am a glutton and starting eating as soon as that little paper sack was handed to me). They made me a new bean burrito right away, which kind of shocked me, and made me think twice about my previous experiences. Strike Six came when I ordered a bean burrito a month and a half ago and it was the exact same as strike Four. My last and Final Strike ( BC I shall never return to this location again) happened about 2 weeks ago when I ordered a bean burrito and two tacos. The talking box said, "You wanted a refried bean burrito right?" "Yea did you get black beans or something?" "No, just clarifying you did want a refried bean burrito?" At this point I start thinking I must be on TV. or some shit and started looking for cameras, but then I remembered the Meat burrito incident from a couple months back and all became clear. Apparently I am not the only one getting meat burritos, instead of bean and this is such a problem that the employees must now verify with you? WTF! Not that it really mattered because can you guess what my bean burrito came out as? I like to think it was a melted cheddar cheese roll up with bean and cumin flavored sauce, because there is no way this thing they gave me was a real Taco Casa Bean burrito. My Tacos fared no better, hardly any meat or that delicious cheddar cheese. So, I sign off on this review with these words. It is obvious someones dropping the ball around this place, trying to cut corners and cheap out on ingredients. This seems to be the par at this Taco Casa and I don't think complaining to the manager is going to change this fact. I feel it is only necessary that I forward this review to Taco Casa Corporate. You can't get better tacos and sweet tea anywhere else! You can always count on fresh ingredients and fast service at Taco Casa. The tacos have plenty of fine ground beef and freshly grated cheese in them. There is no skimping on ingredients here. The owner is friendly and knows a lot of his customers by name and is usually there to 'meet and greet'. He supports the local merchants and community by using their services and donating tons of supplies and money to several high schools. I have seen him deliver food to the concession stand at South Garland myself. He even has worked at some games himself! There are also fun drawings where the crowds are huge, but nobody is a stranger, either. You can also see great vintage and restored cars once a month here. There are literally hundreds of 'regulars' at this Taco Casa. It truly is steps above the chain Taco whatevers nearby. Besides tacos, you can fill up on a Chili Burger, it is basically taco meat, lettuce and lots of grated cheese in a bun. There are also burritos, nachos, tostados, and an enchilada type item, like a fat meat enchilada made with a flour tortilla and covered with red enchilada sauce and grated cheese. Black olives usually come on top, but I am not a fan of the little black 'tires'. That's just me, I cut them from everything, but my family loves them on everything! read more

GREAT FREAKING TACOS you should know by now everytime I get excited about a place I type in all caps. Ok well the location to me is a great location because it is right off the freeway. I like the fact they actually make their own hard taco shells yes I said it THEY MAKE THEIR OWN TACO SHELLS. You can taste the real beef in these tacos not that Taco Bell meat. Their prices are a little steep but once you taste a taco from them you will then forget all about how much you spend.
