My friend wanted tacos (and in Centreville of all places!) so Taco Chinoz & Bar we went, which is a Mexican-Korean fusion spot. It's a casual sit-down with full service. There was only one dude working a couple Sunday afternoons ago, so service was a bit slow. Between the two of us, we shared a small plate and quesadilla: TRIO DIP CHIP PLATTER - 15.50 We were looking forward to the trio dips which included guac, cheese, and salsa -- three amazing classics. The guac was bland, but had a good mix of tomatoes and chopped red onions. The salsa was under-seasoned, and my friend thought it tasted a bit strange. Lastly, the cheese reminded us of the ballpark cheese, which is low quality, but has that nostalgic factor. Sadly, this was unimpressive, and we wouldn't recommend. BEEF BIRRIA QUESADILLA - 14.99 Large portions, each piece were really big and I struggled to finish my portion of the quesadilla. It was incredibly greasy and heavy, however, the beef birria was melted-in-your-mouth tender and the depth of flavor was impressive. It came with various sides and dips along with a side of guajillo consommé to dip our quesadilla in. We'd definitely recommend the beef birria quesadillas here (which seems to be their most popular menu option), albeit on the heavier and richer side. Came here with my family because they were craving tacos and I suggested we try a new place. This place is pretty and I love the decor and all the little details and trinkets everywhere. Tacos chinoz is a sit down restaurant but it's more of a casual vibe. Our service was fast but our server didn't have the friendliest energy. My family all liked their meals, especially the birria tacos. The Buldak fries are also delicious and super spicy! However, our nacho appetizer wasn't what we expected. The nachos are basically movie theater nachos and movie theater nacho cheese as you can see in the picture with just carne asada and toppings thrown on top. I would not recommend anyone get these. The tacos really hit the spot for a late-night craving! I wasn't sure what to expect when I first heard the name, but the menu turned out to be a fun Korean-Mexican fusion. I didn't realize this replaced Oseyo, but I'm glad it did! There aren't too many taco places in the area, let alone a fusion one, and it's definitely going into the rotation. We ordered for pickup at the kiosk and the wait wasn't too long (10-15 minutes), and the staff offered us seats by the window while we waited. It was pretty full on a Friday night, but not so busy that there was a wait. It's dim inside with fun decor, there were K-pop music videos playing on a big screen, and it was quite lively! I tried the crispy fish, carne asada, chicken birria, and crispy tuna nori tacos. They're all great, just that some of the carne asada pieces were a bit tough. Also, they forgot the consommé that's supposed to come with the chicken birria taco, but we were already home when we noticed. The winner is definitely the crispy tuna nori taco! This place is located in one of my favorite strip malls in Centreville. I went there on a Monday at 4pm and it wasn't busy- it got busier by the time we left at around 5pm. The area was so clean and nicely decorated, and the service was wonderful! The food came out quite quickly (so quick that we came and left in about an hour). I ordered the beef birria quesadilla which was absolutely perfect- packed up with beef, not skinny at all. And the mango dessert was sooooo good. It has little pieces of mochi on it that were so nice and soft. This is about to be one of my go-to's for a veryyyyy long time. The pork belly and spicy chicken were both a little too saucy which made the taco slightly soggy but tasted very good. The birria taco was just a good birria taco- no criticism. I think I could have skipped the buldak ramen fries appetizer especially for the price (over $15). I wish the fries were thinner and crispier because with the sauce and everything, the fries got soggy very fast. I liked the ramen pieces in it tho and it had a good heat. When it comes to Tacos in Centerville, I don't think there's anything bad to say about Taco Chinoz & Bar. The atmosphere is lively, it's welcoming, and hell there's even K-pop playing on the screen. The server is nice and even helped me recommend what to get! I got a lot of Tacos and a beer since it was around Happy Hour. Sapporo Beer is my go to beer but it's not for everyone. The tacos I got were two from the regular taco section and two from the Korean BBQ section. Starting off with the Carne Asada, it's what you'd expect if you like a taco that's filled with steak, pico de gallo, jalapeño crème, topped with a cheddar mozzarella blend in a flour tortilla. It's great, probably my favorite pick from the regular taco section. The Beef Birria was very good, almost the same ingredients as the Carne Asada but it comes with a side of Guajillo Consommé. If anyone is familiar with Birria, the Consommé is the way to go. Dipping it in the broth it was cooked in is a delight and it's just extra flavor packed in soup. The Korean Tacos were also pretty good. The Beef Bulgogi was unique! Sliced Marinated Ribeye, Mozzarella Kimchi Slaw, Scallions, and a Spicy Aioli that did pack a bit of heat if you are into that. I really liked that the taco was much more packed than the previous tacos. It's delicious, it has a smoky char flavor from the grill and you can't get enough of it. The Spicy Pork Belly has almost the same ingredients too but I think it was cooked to where it was crispy; I generally like my pork belly a lot crispy because it helps render the fat a bit but I thought it was good. Probably my least favorite out of the four. I really like the concept of a Korean-Mexican fusion restaurant. The best of both worlds for such a unique dining experience! read more

Definitely life changing tacos. These pair well with a Modelo or a margarita! The service is always top notch here. After reading all the great reviews, I was really exited to give this place a try. Unfortunately, it wasn't what I hoped for. We ordered to go - maybe this didn't help. We tried the birria quesadilla, the coreano fries, the spicy pork belly taco, and fish taco. The quesadilla was packed with cheese, which normally I would like but it was almost too much, even for me. The meat was not as flavorful as I hoped for birria to be. The consome was also lacking flavor and was watery. Everything was very heavy and honestly kinda soggy - again maybe if we sat in person it wouldn't have been but we picked up the food to go and only live about 15 mins away. I have been a fan of Taco Chino's since I discovered it inside the food court of a grocery store in Manassas! I am elated that it has come to Centreville where more people will get to taste the pure joy of this amazing taco joint! If I had one suggestion... I would get the Birria Ramen to divide among friends to use as the consume to dip your tacos... the one that comes with the Birria is too watery. The fish taco is absolutely amazing and the Korean inspired tacos are also delicious. I personally enjoy the regular taco meats more. We tried Taco Chinoz over the weekend and really enjoyed it! I've always heard about the hype on social media so I had been meaning to go when I heard about the new location in Centreville. It was veryyy busy inside and they didn't have quite enough seating for all the people trying to eat there, which is awesome! It was a little chaotic inside but the touchscreens made it easy to place a pickup order. I'd love to go another time and be seated when it's less crowded. We ordered a variety of tacos and they were all delicious. The birria and spicy pork belly were our favorites. The fish tacos were alright but I have had better. Waiter was prompt and made sure everything was taken care of, even one of the staff members read my mind and brought us napkins! My tacos were top tier which I'd hope for for $6 but it was worth it. Found this spot from an IG advertisement and decided to stop by on a whim for a late lunch! I was NOT disappointed at all! We instantly were greeted by Daniela and Tess, who were totally awesome! They both helped us with our menu questions and even offered some suggestions. A+ for the customer service first impression! Let me just start with the fact that EVERYTHING was absolutely delicious! Menu items we grabbed were beef birria quesadillas, Nacho Fries, Pork Belly Taco, and a Chicken Birria taco! We even had complimentary Korean snacks for the table. They reminded me of Cap'n Crunch Berries but less sweet, more fresh, and no damage to the roof of my mouth! Lol. I hope they keep them in rotation for dine-in customers at least! The food was fresh and seasoned perfectly and the portions were HUGE! Very worth the price! It is full service and the space is a nice, medium sized spot. The ambiance is chill with catchy K-pop tunes in the background! I came for a late bday dinner and will definitely make the drive from Alexandria to come back again! They have only been open a couple of months but I can see them being here for a long time to come, especially since parking is no trouble! As someone who's been to a good amount of taco joints I've gotta say Taco Chinoz hits a lot of the right notes. Walked in and the vibe was immediately on point. The music was great--kept the energy just right without being overbearing--and the chill, modern ambiance with the well-thought-out decor really set the tone for a good time. Big shoutout to Mike, who was super attentive and made us feel at home. He even dropped some knowledge that we had just missed OG Redskin Clinton Portis, who (surprisingly!) is a part-owner. A good salt and umami bomb, but tacos on flour tortillas? Flour tortillas? This was good for what it is - Koreanish fusion tacos. I purposely got three with similar flavor profiles to see if the protein made a difference. I got the spicy pork belly, spicy chicken, and sweet soy sliced ribeye. There's a teensy tiny bit difference in the menu descriptions, but these all tasted like bulgogi with ssamjang, with some crunchy bits of cabbage. And a little mozzarella. It's not an unpleasant flavor. Just repetitive. So I'd recommend you only get one of these in your medley selection. I carried out and by the time I got home (10 minutes), they were kind of a sopping mess. They're a little oversauced. And they're all on flour tortillas. I appreciate a few choices at any taqueria to come on flour tortillas, but having a simple double corn tortilla model is nice, too. On the upside, these were big. About 40% bigger than your corn tortilla tacos from Taco Bamba, et al. Yeah, I'll be back to try the other seemingly more traditional varieties.
