I'm not sure this review is fair considering this restaurant serves artisan tacos as opposed to what many consider to be "real tacos." I came here during a visit to Fairfax and decided to see what was happening in here while visiting nearby Barnes & Noble. Nice clean spot with a bar and monitors. I came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't crowded. I ordered the spicy mushroom, taco Bamba (skirt steak), and chicken (Peruvian). My biggest mistake was eating the spicy mushroom first. It was so hot, I could barely eat the other two. For my taste, I didn't enjoy any of the three. They just don't taste like Mexican tacos, and I guess that's the whole point. I guess I should be impressed by the variety of ingredients, but a good taco is a good taco. Sometimes a simple hamburger just beats a steak. Other diners looked happy and content, so I'm sure this place has their following. This is a strip mall with solid parking, retail stores, and other places to eat. I wouldn't call this a destination spot, with exception for the book store, Nordstrom Rack, Old Navy, and Capital Grille. The main section of the parking lot was quite full and all the stores along the mall appear to track solid business. I was hoping to sit down and eat at the bar, but it was empty with no good games on TV when I visited, so I ordered takeout, which took about 12 minutes to prepare. I wish this place the best.

Walked in during happy hour. The bartender who was serving people at the bar and tables as well, was really nice. Brought us menus and waters shortly after sitting down. Had an Al Pastor and a birria taco (lamb). My wife had a Jeffery off the HH menu and a carnitas taco (dirty). She liked the taco not so much the Jeffrey.

Parking: tons of parking! It is located in Fair Lakes Promenade, so it's a shopping strip area. Don't worry about parking! It may be hard to park when first watch is open too, because parking may get filled quickly on the side lot. Seating: there is some seating! Maybe around 10 tables and the bar seating area. Food: the two tacos I got were pretty good! The size is about 6 inch tacos. It is a chain restaurant, but there are some tacos other places do not have. I recommend trying those! :) Bathroom: there is a restroom in the back! Price: it can get pricey, depending on how many tacos you order. I think 2-3 tacos are enough for me! Service: you order at the cashier and they call your number to pick up your order. My cashier was friendly and nice. She was helpful in giving me ideas on what to order.

This spot is inside the shopping center with Nordstrom rack and the old navy. It's tucked in the corner behind first watch so I never noticed it was there. There's plenty of parking. The interior was actually so hip and not what I expected for the area. I liked it. There's a large bar that serves at lunch as well. You order at the register in the back. The prices are comparable, and pretty good. most tacos are $4, but I def recommend their $5 carne asada. It was the best one. They also have sauces white and green aren't spicy and the red one was a bit spicy could have more of a kick. The tacos were filling. I only needed about 2, but my husband needed about 3 but ofc finished what I couldn't haha. It's a clean space with a lot of seating inside and outside. I'd come again!

I enjoyed trying Taco Bamba. They have quite a varied menu, including quesadillas and breakfast selections served all day. On this visit, I ordered a Chorizo Taco and a Barbacoa Taco. They come in a soft shell but ard meant to be eaten as handhelds. Four different salsas of varying spices on the salsa bar. The filling is onion and cilantro. Different, but I liked it. I also ordered a side of salsa and chips. Only corn chips arrived. I suppose you use one of the four salsas. Taco Bamba has Coca-Cola fountain products. including Coke Zero, a plus for me. I do want to return to try other menu items. Recommended.

    Posole Rojo and Horchata

I finally decided to give this place a try. It's located at the end of a the strip center, which has plenty of parking, by Nothing Bundt Cakes. Using Door Dash, I ordered the Horchata, Al Pastor taco, the dirty version of the Taco Bamba taco, and the Possole Rojo for pick up. My order was prepared super quick. They packaged my order well and you can ask for utensils and sauces before you leave. I've never had Possile Rojo before, but I wished it had more seasoning. Overall, everything tasted okay. I wouldn't be opposed to going back, but this wouldn't be my first taco choice.

I've tried 4 different Taco Bamba locations and I love that they are all the same great flavors and quality. I especially love the Fairfax location for their larger bar area and outside seating area. Bartenders are always nice and attentive. And the cashiers and food runners have always been nice as well. We recently tried the Bamba Wings, and really loved the flavors! Will definitely order again.

Taco Bamba is always great and I've been more than a half dozen times to the Fair Lakes location since it opened last year. It was crowded on a Sunday around 12:30pm. I ordered to go, but a table opened up during the approximately 15 minute wait. I had the Posole Rojo, a namesake Taco Bamba, and a Moby's Hog. I tend to prefer green chile posole, but this one is good! It's mildly spicy and includes onions, cilantro, big puffy hominy, chunks of pork, and a side of seasoned chicharrones. This is always a comfort to eat and I like dunking the pork skins into the broth. Moby's Hog is made of gyro spiced pork, garlic yogurt, pico de gallo, feta, pickled onion, mint, dill, and pepperoncini on a single flour tortilla. This one was packed and very tasty. If you like the classic taste of a gyro, including the creaminess of the feta, you'll get that, along with a fresh zing of whichever salsa you add from the salsa bar. I would get this one again. The Taco Bamba is skirt steak, chorizo, grilled guacamole, cotija, pickled onion, pickled fresno chile, cilantro, and chicharron. This one was alright. The large chunks of meat were a little tough. It has a classic carne asada flavor topped with some brightness from the pickled onions and chiles. But the rest of it - chorizo, guacamole, chicharron - kind of got lost in the mix. I'll probably look at other choices the next time I'm here. The bar always seems to be active here - lots of patrons having a lunchtime cocktail. The music is loud and lively, but you can still have a conversation with your table mates.

    Tinga Taco Pollo al Carbon
    Lydia O.

I'll be honest, I came in very hesitant because I had tacos 3 days prior, and they were probably the worst I've ever had. But Taco Bamba was recommended by my brother and sister, and if anyone knows good food it's them! And once again, they didn't disappoint! I ordered the chicken tinga taco and pollo al carbon dirty style. They were both so good in different ways. The tinga taco was very traditional and still had good flavor to it. The pollo al carbon was very flavorful and making dirty style was icing on the cake. It was so good I wanted to go back and order another. Something else we enjoyed was the sauce bar. I wish I remembered the name of the sauces because my favorite two, mixed together took the tacos to another level. If you want good tacos and service I would definitely recommend Taco Bamba.

I visited this location for lunch. It was very busy. We sat at the bar, the waitress was very attentive and helpful. The food was good, we ordered some tacos and wings. The wings were a chili garlic and they had a nice flavor. The pineapple margarita was very good and the presentation was so cute lol. There is ample parking and ample seating in the restaurant.

Can't thank Christian and his crew enough for making it right and going above and beyond. They made sure we had a meal that matched the standards were used to tasting in the past! Everything was delicious tonight- and as always, the dine in vibes are so fun. My boys were happy dancing through all of dinner. Really glad we came back, this was total redemption. The Dilly- GET IT!

I've always noticed how busy this place is whenever I pass by, so I finally decided to check it out and I'm so glad I did! Everything was delicious! I tried a variety of tacos, nachos, and margaritas, and each dish was packed with flavor. The portions were generous, and all the ingredients tasted fresh. Definitely a solid spot for great tacos and drinks!

The food was beautifully presented and the wine pairing was superb. Definitely recommend having them pair your wines. The grilled shrimp was a great start. The sparkling rose made the shrimp taste even better. The goat cheese ravioli was probably my favorite savory dish of the evening. The sweet sage-maple syrup-tomato sauce was fantastic. The Sancerre was pleasant with it, although I thought the ravioli itself was more impressive than the pairing. I had to order bread so the sauce wouldnt go to waste. I ordered the lamb medium rare, but it arrived closer to medium, and initially it was somewhat underseasoned. After adding salt and pepper and getting some of the thyme from the plate into the bite, the lamb became significantly better and worked better with the Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The creamed spinach underneath was delicious on its own, but I didn't enjoy it with the wine. Interestingly, the absolute highlight of that wine pairing was the braised garlic. The sweet, mellow garlic and Châteauneuf-du-Pape were wonderful together. Dessert was the highlight of the entire pairing. The lavender ice cream was outstanding, the Chantilly surrounding it was light and delicious, and the strawberry sauce wasn't overly sweet. The Sauternes was excellent with the dessert, particularly with the fresh strawberry. This was the pairing where the food and wine truly made each other better. Even though I was one of the last diners of the evening, I never felt rushed. My server was very attentive and social which I love. It was very romantic and yet comfortable enough that dining alone wasnt awkward. I'd happily return.

There are many tables in the restaurant and it is much bigger than you realize when you first walk in. Our server was extremely helpful, both with choosing drinks and food. I chose the IPA from Brooklyn that I very much enjoyed. My friend selected the the Vietnamese beer that he liked a lot. The ladies enjoyed their wine, my wife chose the one from S. Africa. As this was our first visit, we decided to go with the tasting menu. It has various names as the chef includes different dishes. It includes an amuse bouche, several appetizers, entrees from fish, meat, and a vegetarian choice. I think my favorites of all were the stuffed leaf with wagyu beef and grilled bamboo. The bamboo was sweet and chunky, I had never eaten bamboo-it's great!. Everything we ate was excellent. The pacing of the meal was comfortable: we were able to enjoy each course without hurry but dinner didn't require a 2 1/2 experience. Our dessert was also very interesting with a combination of flavorful ice cream with other delectables. The price of the tasting menu was $95pp plus tax and 20% service already added. I highly recommend this for dinner. I've paid much more for a lot less in quality and quantity in the District.
