I've been craving a cơm tấm (broken rice) plate for so long and finally had time to grab lunch with the mister. Of course, we had to get their eggrolls too! I love how they always provide a plate of veggies to go with them. I ordered the #11 with a fried egg, and it definitely hit the spot! The mister got the bún riêu, but we weren't impressed...it was really bland, so I wouldn't recommend it. I've been going to My Lan for over a decade now, so when I tell you their cơm tấm is a must, believe me! The restaurant is pretty old, so the ambiance is just your typical Asian spot...nothing special. Service was super efficient, even for a busy Sunday! Coming from NY, I've always heard that getting vietnamese food in Texas is a must. After reading through numerous reviews, My Lan seemed to be a solid choice around the Fort Worth area. One things for sure - My Lan did not disappoint! This little family run restaurant located in a strip mall serves up some great pho. The restaurant interior looks super no frills, but everyone is warm and friendly. I ordered the spring rolls, pho dac biet, and a young coconut drink, all of which I would recommend. The spring rolls were by far some of THE crispiest I've had. The pho broth was equally as impressive - deeply flavored while remaining super clear. They didn't skimp on noodles or any of the toppings - portions were generous for sure. I also really enjoyed the young coconut drink. It was super refreshing, and the coconut pieces were almost jelly-like! I really appreciated the service & hospitality here, especially as a solo diner. I bookmarked so many Vietnamese restaurants in Haltom City to try whenever I'm in the area, and I'm so glad I finally had time to visit one. My Lan was the top one on my list for com tam after seeing so many positive reviews and delicious photos. The parking lot was pretty bumpy with a few potholes, but that's a sign I'm about to eat some authentic Vietnamese food (similar to Garland). There wasn't much on the outside, it was just a restaurant in a long strip with the name at the top. My sister and I came around 1 PM and it was pretty empty. There were 3 tables at the time so we got seated right away. The restaurant was clean, with multiple booths on both sides and some tables in the center-- definitely enough to serve big groups of people. The server was fast and gave us the water and menu right away, and he kept coming back to check if we were ready to order. Since it was my first time, and they had some dishes that I never see at other places, I took my time. We ordered egg rolls, cafe sua da, com tam, and banh hoi, and omg, they came out SO fast. I seriously thought they just had the egg rolls lying around on the counter and brought it over. The egg rolls were CRISPY, and hot, and they came with veggies on the side to wrap. That was a big point for me because other Vietnamese restaurants just give you two egg rolls with fish sauce and call it good. My Lan actually gave me veggies to wrap my egg rolls in, along with really good Vietnamese fish sauce. The food came out after 10 mins, which gave us time to finish half of our egg rolls. The portions are pretty big and my banh hoi has so much meat to rice noodle ratio. I was so impressed with the portion, but the taste was 11/10. I love the chao tom, thit nuong, and cha gio I got with my banh hoi. Wrapping it with some lettuce wrap and mint made it a delicious meal. Each dish was around $12 which is fairly decent compared to other restaurants charging $15+. I'll definitely be back if I'm in the area again! read more

My Lan will always hit! I have been coming here for years! Food is always amazing but my favorite is the Eggrolls Service has gotten a lot better, came in a Tuesday night and hour before closing. Service was fast and food was hot. It was not as busy as I am used to, we've came afternoons and weekends and have had to wait to be seated because of it usually always packed. Living in downtown fort worth there are not good options for Vietnamese food. Luckily this place is only 10 minutes away (no traffic). Arlington will always be the place for Vietnamese food butttt My Lan does the job. They have the BEST egg rolls. They use spring roll rice paper instead which make them taste extra crunchy. I'd say all their food is pretty standard authentic Vietnamese, maybe not the best you'll find compared to Arlington but it all hits the spot. And the pricing is very fair. Service SUPER fast. What happened to My Lan? I've been coming here for over 20 years. I lived in Thailand and went to Vietnam regularly. We always compared the eggrolls to My Lan and they never lived up to this restaurant. It's the one place I craved while living abroad and the first place I went to when I got home. Those eggrolls!! My Lan is definitely one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in the DFW area. If you're ever on this side of town, I believe it's worth trying out. They specialize in many Vietnamese dishes, from their rice dishes and noodle dishes, and even some great Vietnamese desserts. [LOCATION/PARKING] My Lan is located in a small shopping strip, in between O'Reilly and Wingstop. There's plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. I would be aware of your surroundings though. There are a lot of people walking around this area and there are also the occasional panhandlers/homeless who like to sit near the door entrance. For as long as I have frequented My Lan (about 15yrs+), I have never had a bad experience with any of them though. [SERVICE] There's 2 entrances to My Lan. Feel free to enter through any of them and someone will eventually come to you to get you seated with menus. There may be a wait during peak times such as weekends and weekday dinner time. The wait isn't too long though. For the most part, all the waiters are really quick to the point so if you don't know what you want, just let them know you need a few more minutes. Food usually comes out in a decent amount of time. I'm never waiting for more than 15 minutes for my food to come out after ordering. Back in the day, they didn't do so well with refilling my water but they've come a long way and have changed their ways now. I also order carry out about once a week. Make sure you speak clearly when ordering. I always tell them the menu number of the dish I want and have them repeat my order at the end of the call. They usually don't tell you how long it'll take and probably won't even take your name down either. I live about 10minutes from My Lan so I usually wait about 15mins after calling to leave the house to pick up my food. When I get to the restaurant, I usually just repeat my order and they'll know what I'm talking about. [FOOD] The best part. The FOOD! -APPS: For starters, I definitely recommend ordering the EGG ROLLS or SPRING ROLLS (or both) to start off with. The egg rolls are wrapped in spring roll wrappers (which is clearer than normal egg roll wrappers) and the crunch in these egg rolls is mesmerizing. Each order comes with 5 egg rolls! Enough to share with a group (or to eat by yourself...) -RICE DISHES/VERMICELLI NOODLES: My favorite rice dishes would have to be #13 and #15, depending if I want a baked egg cake or egg rolls on my rice dish. The rice dishes that I like come with 3 different proteins (ranging from grilled pork, shrimp paste, etc.) I am a huge fan of their grilled pork. It's marinated and grilled very well! Whatever you see on the rice dishes can also be placed on vermicelli noodles with fish sauce! The fish sauce does have a slightly stronger stench to it so if you're sensitive to this type of sauce, I wouldn't recommend it. But if you're all for it, then 100% go for it! -NOODLES: Hands down, I recommend #74 which is the combination chow fun (flat, wide, rice noodles) or chow mein (crunchy, yellow noodles). You get a variety of meats and veggies that's stir fried on top of your noodles. -DRINKS: My favorite drink to order here would be the Vietnamese iced coffee (cafe su dua). Their coffee is strong and it definitely makes me feel alert and refreshed after a few sips. read more

Not as good as I had expected based on the reviews. We got the coconut drink and Thai tea, it wasn't bad. Got pho beef and meatballs, broth wasn't bad but meatballs wasn't great. I've had better. They served our Pho without the fixings (bean sprouts, jalapeño, lemon, mint) and I had to ask for it twice. They looked at me crazy for asking where it was. Their chili oil was worse I've had, disgusting. Service was horrible too. Definitely wouldn't recommend going here. Better off going next door at Dong Ba. read more
