I've had a lot of Tacos but I was blown away with the Buffalo Chicken tacos at Taco City. I added whatever orange habanero sauce that's in the picture and it was tasty and super hot! The blue Hawaiian margarita is also super tasty and sweet. We ate the bar and the service was speedy and attentive. The place has a lot of space and tons of seating, in the bar area and in the main seating area. It was very clean and had good lighting. The bathrooms were clean and nice as well. Not too shabby for tacos. I came here trying to take advantage of the specials going on for Louisville Taco Week. I ordered one of each of the specials, and they were pretty solid, but not life-changing and eye-opening. This place is pretty fast casual, maybe a tiny bit nicer. Taco City has an amazing variety of flavors. You order at the counter. I asked the waitress for a suggestion and I am glad I did. The Korean taco was bursting with flavor! My friend had the brisket taco and the fried taco. She enjoyed both but said the brisket was her favorite. The menu has a great variety of options: tacos, burritos, nachos, and much more. I opted for a pork soft taco and a ground beef one & decided these would be my work lunch on Weds. I ordered the chicken flautas (Sp?) and an order of churros as part of my to go order. My order was ready in a reasonable time frame, and still warm once home, yay! I'd get less lettuce or no lettuce next time on the flautas as I had to search for them beneath shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, etc. The food is great, freshly made, and I got all 3 items for about $20 as a to go order. read more

Haven't been up to taco city for a while so my husband and I stopped in for a late lunch. We ordered 2 chicken wet burritos, queso dip and chips. The gentleman who took our order suggested we might want to share, as the wet burrito is large. We followed his suggestion, so glad we did -- that burrito is huge! I went to the Middletown location and asked about the soft serve margaritas. I was told only the Breckenridge lane and thr Bardstown road locations have them. No big deal, I drive to the hikes point location and before I place my order for food, I ask the server, does this location have the soft serve margaritas. I was told yes. Ordered my food and went to the bar only to he told no, that location doesn't have them, only the Bardstown rd location does. Your employees are less than informed and your website is extremely misleading. As a business owner, you should definitely ensure ypur employees are knowledgeable about ALL products offered and where they are offered. While your website does say you have soft serve margaritas, it does not mention only 1 specific location, which again is misleading and extremely deceptive marketing. Can't say that after my experience today I will ever visit another Taco City location. read more

How have I NOT received this Taco City location yet? Probably because the experience and food keeo you present. So, going on your phone isn't a thought of the mind!!! Every and I mean EVERY menu item is built with love and intention. The food is made fresh with fresh ingredients. The bar is beautiful and the murals and atmosphere are rocking! A great little place if you want wonderful Mexican food, friendly and quick service. We have came here a couple of times while visiting our daughter in Louisville. Our food has always been very good, spicy and tasty. Lots of flavors. This is taco week, so why not try taco city. they had a couple different tacos to choose from for $2.50 each. We tried the grilled chicken taco as well as the taco supreme with the ground beef. The grilled chicken was quite spicy. I believe it was the sauce that was on it. The ground beef was seasoned very well, and lots of toppings on it. I would highly recommend both of these. Until next time we're in Louisville... I'm sure we will return. read more

Finally got around to visiting Taco City Hikes Point. My friend and I decided to visit this location since it was too cold to sit outside the original location on Bardstown Road. I'm not putting them down however, Bardstown road location has great outdoor seating however the inside of that one is very cramped. The Hikes Point location is bigger and has more indoor space than outdoor space. TC- Hikes Point is located in the shopping center next to Kroger on Breckinridge Lane. It's more in the front facing the street and we had some trouble finding it but eventually found it. They have parking but it limited, you may have to park in the shopping center if they get real busy. We go in it's some busy but not very busy. Service was fast and friendly and we got our food in about a few minutes. They are as fast as the Bardstown road location therefore we get our food pretty fresh. The Margarita is actually thicker here, good thing too doesn't get as melted as fast. Food was delicious as always, my friend got the Giant Taco and I got the Buffalo chicken taco and chips and Queso that we shared. I forget they have margarita flights at this location vs. the other one and it is a most definite for next visit. We have no complaints about this location other than the Breckinridge Lane traffic, everything was perfect from the interior to the food. This is one of the 3 locations in Louisville and I definitely recommend visiting here. read more

Went for dinner on Sunday at about 5:30. Store wasn't busy. We ordered cheese dip which was as thick as pudding and barely warm. It looked like they were at the end of a pan and scraped from the bottom. Chips were broken scraps. We each had a #2 carnitas taco. It was dry, stringy and tasted and looked like it was overcooked hard scraps from the end of a bin. Contacted manager. He offered a refund or a gift card. I said gift card but he then ghosted me. Not a good experience. I would recommend a hard pass on Sunday evening. read more

Ambiance - I'm not sure how they are beyond lunch time since I order takeout. Whenever I've gone, the place is really empty. Not sure if it's the location but since they opened, I was really glad to have a close taco place besides Taco Bell to grab some tasty tacos. Unfortunately, the last couple of times I went, the food was just ok. I haven't been since late March due to the lack luster of the food. Service: Excellent Food: My go to is the #20 Korea Steak Taco. While the meat is seasoned well, they tend to be sadly, small strips, overcooked and dry. I tried their other tacos and they all started to taste the same since many of them use the same toppings of red raw cabbage and such. Mainly, all of their meats tend to be dry and overcooked Overall: I tried other items as well but after giving them a try a couple more times, I just haven't gone back. First let me start off by saying I love the location. I know it's been a few restaurants at this location, so hopefully this one will last. When I first pulled in, I thought it would be a long wait because the parking lot was full in the front and on the side, but it wasn't that bad inside. I had to wait a few minutes in line, but it wasn't that long. If you go after 4pm, if you want to order an alcoholic beverage you have to go to the bar and order separate from your food order. This is my first time really ordering food from Taco City, I usually just get drinks from them, but since this location had a good score and the restaurant looked very clean, I went on and ordered food. I ordered the Cajun Shrimp Taco, Caribbean Jerk Chicken Taco, Cheese Dip, and a Rainbow Margarita. The tacos were okay. They give you a lot of toppings and meat on both. The Cajun Shrimp Taco comes with a lot of onions on it, its not too spicy, and it has mangos on it. I would order it again. The Caribbean Jerk Chicken Taco was okay I wouldn't order it again. It had pineapples on it and a lot of jerk seasoning. I didn't get a picture of the cheese dip or the margarita, but they were good too. read more

This place is awesome! Some of the best, if not the best, tacos I've ever had! I had the breakfast taco which was amazing. A little bit of spice from the chorizo mixed with eggs, and other yummy breakfast flavors. Next I had the steak taco which was also very yummy! Savory steak, onions and peppers. My last taco was the Korean beef taco. It was kind of one note to be honest. The Korean bulgogi was good but it was the only flavor that really stood out. The rainbow margarita was amazing! So fruity and tasty! The tequila taste was there but not overpowering. The place was huge with lots of seating and a beautiful decor. The prices may seem a bit high but for the amount of food you get and the quality of ingredients it makes sense. Definitely will be back here again! read more

I noticed there was a bar area in the back which looked interesting and seems like a nice area to just hang out with friends or family. This place not only has a variety of tacos, but also there's other items such as quesadillas, salads & bowls. Like most taco places, the tacos are small and the cashier told me that usually 2-3 tacos can fill you up. I ordered 2 Korean steak tacos and a Mexican coke. I thought the tacos were really good. It had the right amount of spice and flavor. I also shared chips and salsa with my family. The salsa was a little spicy but it wasn't too bad. The only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't much parking because the parking lot was small. Other than that, I had a good time here.
