Sorry, Yelpers. I should have photographed the beautifully presented meals my sister and I ordered. Unfortunately, my primal Mexican obsession took over when the plates arrived. By the time I remembered, you wouldn't want to see what was left. My sister ordered a Steak Sincronizada, and I ordered Pollo Asado. A sincronizada is sort-of what a quesadilla wants to be when it grows up: two huge grilled tortillas packed with steak, cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. Pollo asado is chicken, pounded thin, marinated and grilled to perfection. Side dishes were on point too. Beans can be boring, but the ones on my plate were rich and flavorful. The rice was also good. The house-made red and green salsas were great. Total cost for two delicious dinners accompanied by Jarritos? $22! read more

Before all the pandemic stuff we used to come all the time. Love the food and atmosphere. Was so looking forward to a great meal. Walked in, place was dirty, smelled bad. Should have left but didn't. Cold refried beans, bland rice, and burnt flavors(no seasoning). Was highly disappointed. Asked for ice water, warm tap water with not even an inch of ice. All around HORRIBLE. Asked if they changed hands was told no the owners was in vacation and all the old staff quit. The server was very pleasant and I really felt bad for her having to serve that pathetic food, but there's no excuse for being dirty enough for the whole place to smell. Was going to go to subway but decided on this place. Wasn't the right choice. Menu is hard to understand and they charge you more then is listed in it. Had to ask for more water, then they proceeded to bring out warm water. Food wasn't half bad though. read more

My absolute favorite is the ceviche/shrimp tostada, tangy shrimp with cilantro, onion, tomato and avocado on a crunchy shell. I also enjoyed all the tacos and the fried whole fish. I absolutely love this place! I can't recommend it enough. Inexpensive good quality authentic Mexican fare, with consistently friendly service. Every time I've been I seem to be the only native English speaker in the restaurant, but everyone is always friendly, and the servers speak perfect English. Service is usually really quick but I found out the hard way that they get PACKED at lunch time, and as expected, your food takes much longer to come out. My personal go-to's are the lengua tacos (beef tongue) and tostadas de ceviche which is the most shrimp and fresh veggies you're going to get in Louisville for under 5 bucks! It's so so so good, one of my top food cravings without a doubt. My husband is a big fan of anything of theirs with chorizo, which I gotta say is also pretty delicious. This food is definitely worth going out of your way for! Especially if you're in the area- try them instead of the more popular tex-mex restaurants! This is a small little place. Came in for a takeout order. There was two tables with guest at the time. . One a family and a couple in the other booth. Not busy at all. I ordered 2 tacos and a Gordita. My order was taken quickly. It took 25 minutes to fill my order. I was disappointed because this is not a place I could come to at dinner from work. The sauces that came with the order were very hot. Being as I have never eaten here before I don't know if they have a mild that I could have ask for. The Gordita was not what I was expecting and I did not care for it. The chicken taco was just okay. Wish I had a sauce I could have put in it. I gave the third taco away. My husband and I recently relocated from AZ and had been searching for a real Mexican food restaurant out here, sure enough, I think we've found it! The most authentic Mexican food we have found so far. I got the enchilada plate, which came with four enchiladas, beans, and rice. I got mine in chicken and cheese. Both versions were very good. The one thing I found interesting was there was no enchilada sauce, like what is common back in AZ, but almost a kind of dry enchilada rub. It was delicious, just different. This restaurant, and the nearby mexican market are a great find for mexican food lovers on the south side of Louisville. There are a variety of meat choices for the tacos and burritos. I selected chicken and chorizo and both were delicious. The enchiladas were tasty but be forewarned that the green variety is spicy. The food is freshly made, authentic and plentiful. The service is friendly and helpful and the restaurant is family oriented and clean with reasonable pricing. I'm looking forward to trying the burritos and gorditas as well as other menu offerings. So, got three small street tacos with queso and it totaled out to be also $22. What a freaking rip off for a very small 1 person order. I can order pizza and bread sticks for that price and be set for days. The food was sub-par and very generic. I praise food trucks compared to this food. I checked the online menu to find out they over charged me by about $10. What thieves! People that walked in after and ordered got their food before mine and I got mine to-go!? Found this place using YELP. It was very clean eat in restaurant. We arrived right before it was closing, so I was unable to eat in. We did carry out instead and I am glad we did! Everything was hot, fresh and tasty!! Steak quesadillas were YUMMY, the steak was perfectly seasoned and the tortilla was light and tasted home made.
