So I've seen mixed reviews about Taco Del Mar. it's not a franchise like Chipotle and the first store opened in Washington. They do have a few locations in nearby states but I still consider it a WA local taco place. Sure it's not the best like stuff you'd get from Texas or SoCal but if you have a craving for Mexican and don't want to go to a franchise like Chipotle, then this is your spot. I think the mixed reviews are due to the varying items they offer. I used to go to Taco Del Mar a lot as a kid - even before Chipotle was a thing. I think they shine with their burritos, fish taco, rice and beans, and taco salad. Anything else I really don't think it's worth trying. While the burrito and fish taco are on the expensive side, the taco salad is a great deal. I door dashed a taco salad for $13 and the portion size was great. They even make their own taco shell. It was a little on the cold side and they forgot my side of white fish sauce (my favorite) but remembered to put my sour cream and salsa on the side. I definitely prefer taco Del Mar over chipotle. Give the taco salad a try (not the burrito bowls). I feel like those aren't filling enough but for $13 total the taco salad is a great bang for your buck. Also I hope this can be added but on door dash there's no option to add the white fish sauce. read more

I had a hankering for some protein and taco Del Mar was just right around the corner from my shoeshine, I got this thick burrito and some type of a spinach tortilla and the staff had this thing whipped together like it was a test line assembly line delicious good service I will definitely be back. So a quick update I can always tell when a business is run and managed by an owner or a person who cares about their work because they respond which almost always takes a few weeks. The owner or the manager responded same day and didn't try to bait me with a special, (not that I would mind) it was just thank you for coming and I think most businesses are so poorly run because they forget the simple things like just showing your customers and gratitude for coming to eat at the restaurant. read more

I'm mortified. Let me explain; walked in with my friend and little girls but we were hesitant because all the chairs were up as if they were closed. No one was there but we called out, "hello?" A guy walks out and asks how he can help. I ask if they're open and he whispered "yeah" I proceed to order and he says he's only talking cash. Luckily my friend had cash so we began the order again. Didn't even know this places existed...it's located in a lonely corner next to Nordstrom on the emptier side of the mall. Nice option for a quick & cheap bite if you're on the run or craving Mexican food. Honestly, Cactus's quality isn't any better, you just have a nicer place to sit at. I think it took me so long to finally try out this place was that I thought it only served seafood due to the name, but they have plenty other meat or veggie options. The other Mexican chains like Taco Bell, Taco Time, Chipotle, Qdoba are slightly better, but this isn't a bad choice. I liked how they have 2 different type of beans; black, pinto, & my favorite refried!!! Too many places are doing the healthy hipster trend and not have refried, but what's the point? My daughter and I were shopping at Belle Square and she wanted to eat here. Now that you can actually sit down, we stopped in. She got the ground beef burrito (not a lot of places offer that) and for like an extra 1.25 or something like that, you can get your burrito smothered in queso or enchilada sauce. Everything was extremely fresh and my daughter and I were surprised at how much our food resembled that of an actual restaurant. I know these places are your grab and go, but they have more of a restaurant atmosphere rather than a McDonald's type atmosphere, if that makes sense. The worker was very nice while making our food and helped me decide on what to get, etc. I got the fish tacos and OMG! They were so good. Perfect actually and that doesn't happen very often. If you're looking for a quick fix or just popped into the mall and you're super craving for Mexican food after all that retail cardio then I suggest give this a try! I love Mexican food and I crave for chips, salsa and guacamole! This is one of my pit stops for me after a trip to the mall or my favorite stores and I'm So hungry I don't want to wait for a table or just want some Mexican food right away! I always order the same thing, it's very basic , chips, salsa and guacamole with cheese quesadillas, I don't like their salsa that much coz it tastes and the texture feels more like a pasta sauce. Their serving is just right especially for the chips and salsa. I wish they gave that free like most restaurants do! Taco Del Mar is not what it used to be. Paid almost $11 for a chicken burrito and barely got any filling. Only a tablespoon of chicken that was mostly made up of sauce. The $1 extra for guacamole was maybe half a tablespoon. If I could zero star I would. Definitely never coming back. read more

In such an upscale mall as Bellevue Square, the option to have food without it costing an arm and a leg is definitely appreciated. Taco Del Mar is here and it's a fast food restaurant that's not terrible. There is a McDonald's store in the mall, but screw that place. If I want a quick bite while I'm here and I don't feel like paying more than seven dollars for it, I'll probably come here. Taco Del Mar has gone downhill in terms of quality, though. They used to have these delicious bonfire BBQ burritos for five dollars. They don't have those anymore, and their mondo burritos are now $5.69, much to my annoyance. That's like Subway no longer having five-dollar footlongs, but oh well. Their burritos also don't seem to taste as good as they once did. I found this place next to Nordstrom's and was craving Mexican food, but I probably should have read the reviews first. I tried the fish tacos- the fish was incredibly oily and fried, reheated, and stuck on top of the tortilla with toppings in a way that was impossible to eat without dropping it all over myself. It actually appeared like this person had not ever made a taco before, I was incredibly confused when I saw her putting this together because I had no idea what was going on. I wish I had taken a picture of the taco because it was truly bizarre; but I was hungry and honestly everyone is allowed to have an off day. However, I also ordered the loaded nachos; and when I saw them going in the microwave was when I realized I had made a mistake. She placed about two tiny teaspoons of beans on top of a mountain of chip, with shredded cheese placed on top that was then microwaved?! I asked for queso but she had already put the shredded cheese on top, after which she added the queso...I didn't even know they had other topping options and she didn't ask me if I wanted anything else, I did ask for guacamole and sour cream which was dolloped on top of the unappetizing mess. There was no flavor, exactly one cubic inch of chicken, and when I'm paying is when I notice an entire section for toppings (onion, jalapeño etc) that was never offered to me. This is a rare occasion for me to hop in and grab something to eat here, but sometimes the lure of convenience is what draws me in. I get it. Taco Del Mar is not authentic. It's not high quality. It's fast food, and it's cheap. However, even McDonald's serves you a hot meal. I ordered two tacos, and the service was fast, so kudos there. But even though there was no hold-up in getting my food, it was frigid when I actually got to eat it just a minute later. The meat couldn't have been more than luke warm to start, and there was a mountain of cold, bland salsa heaped on top. The tortilla was gummy and wet. Overall, probably the worst taco experience I've had. That being said, I only even went here in the first place because I've had only delicious hot tacos at the Kirkland location. As far as restaurants in the mall go, this place is average. You can't really expect incredible cuisine from a place that barely has 5 tables. I had a taco salad and was pleased with what I got. As with any other taco salad, the guacamole and sour cream were the best part. The men working there were friendly but it's very much like a customer service machine, one step after another, always the same questions. This place is soooo Yummy! They are really generous. Lots of Fish or chicken or whatever you order on you Super Burrito. I recommend the green sauce, the jalapeños and the chips with cheese dip. This is my one cheat a week - it is so good and the guys are so friendly. I had my children order in spanish when they were young to practice their school spanish and years later they still ask after the children even after they are in college.
