Shockingly tasty. My husband was "hangry" and we were running late to a concert. So we went through the drive thru. I did think it was a bit over priced for fast food. The orange cheese they sprinkled on top was not cooked and seemed like it was out of a Kraft bag. The cold Kraft cheese was nasty. But everything else on my tostadas were good. Beans, guacamole , lettuce tomatoes sour cream and salsas. The cheese on the quesadilla was cooked and had proper cheese. Come on Taco Delite you gotta do better! The regular tacos are awesome however your breakfast is shameful. I ordered 2 breakfast tacos and a breakfast burger. All with sausage that costs $3+ to add it and even though it's frozen patty sausage you're using, with all three items there wasn't a full sausage patty total between all 3 items!!? Come on! What happened to this place all of a sudden it went downhill. This place used to be good the fajita/carne asada meat used to be good in the tacos and burritos. Ordered their burrito and tacos , yesterday, and they were terrible. The meat was all grizzle and looked and tasted boiled not fried over the grill. If they continue this way we will not be going back. Also, would like a better salsa with fresh tomatoes, cilantro, onions and lime in it. Um, I like Taco Delite. I feel like this might be one of those things I shouldn't really tell too many people, but I'm gonna go out on a limb here. I think it's pretty good. Quick, cheap, and definitely convenient, especially if you work in Little Elm, 'cause Lord knows pickins' are slim! I would compare the food at Taco Delite to Rosa's Cafe. My favorite thing to order here are the "salads", which are comical. If you are craving an actual salad, do not order this. Their "salads", while delicious, consist of about 1/4 cup of shredded lettuce beneath a giant bowl of tortilla chips, chicken, cheese, beans, sour cream, tomatoes, and salsa. It's more like a big, delicious bowl of messy Mexi-explosion. I think what I am trying to say is, if you feel like having nachos, order a salad. Taco Delite is not fancy. They have one kind of salsa, the dining room has no charm or ambiance, and they have generic Styrofoam cups and plates (which routinely injures the soul of the earth-crunchy grandma hippie lady I work with-- beside the point, yes). It's great for what it is. Simple, uncomplicated fast food. My reasonable expectations are met. Better quality than other chains (I'd rather go hungry than eat Taco Bell), their salsa is delicious (guac too!) , and the prices are reasonable. I saw this place and it reminded me of a Restaurant in Southern California, so I decided to give it a try. MISTAKE! If I was Mexican by blood I would be in front of this place with a sign insisting that the name of this place be changed to something that doesn't suggest that this qualifies as anything minutely close to Mexican food. I asked the Cashier if they usually served processed cheese, and she said, and I quote, " Yes, I think so. It's a powder that we mix with water" , WTF? Dripping with greasy ground beef yumminess and stuffed with fresh lettuce and tomatoes, I always wish I'd ordered just one more, and sooooo sad that they are not open on Sundays, but much respect to the owners for giving the staff a regular day off.
