Ordered chicken pad Thai last week from Yum Asian Bistro for the first time. And it was extremely delicious and very well flavored. It did have a hint of spice but not too overpowering. This location has been our "go to" spot for Chinese/Asian food since they opened. We eat here on average 2 times a month, enough that we don't need a menu because the owners (I presume they are the owners, I need to ask next time we are in) know what we want and how we like it prepared. The service is great, never had to wait for a drink refill or a follow up on food quality. This business is clean and kept up well. Maybe could use some more art on the walls, however that's not a big deal When you are enjoying a great meal. We always have enough food leftover to make one or two more meals. I'm talking pages on pages of options. If you're the type of person that is indecisive of what to get then be prepared to read and contemplate for a good 28 mins because they got it all!! After deciding and endless internal debate I decided to order the General Taos and Kung Pao Chicken. I know basic right lol. As I took a bite of the Kung pao chicken it instantly transported me to the Great Wall of China surrounded by the elegant lush green trees! Wow what an experience. Went here for take out tonight as we have eaten here 3 times before and I should have looked at the reviews. I don't know if they changed ownership or got a new Chef or what but I should have taken this "food" back and got my money back. The food has zero flavor. Egg rolls were the worst thing I have ever tasted. We ordered the chicken and veggies, broccoli beef, veggie lo mein, Orange Chicken, (which was rubbery and didn't taste like chicken) dumplings and fried rice. We found our new favorite Chinese place. The egg roll was awesome. Tasted like they made it fresh. Not like a previously frozen egg roll that most places serve. My kiddo loved the crabmeat/cream cheese filled wontons. For entrees we had Chicken Lo mein, sweet and sour chicken and Orange chicken. I guess we were craving chicken haha. The Lo Mein has a very tasty sauce. The crust on the sweet and sour was very crispy crunchy with generous pieces of chicken. The Orange chicken was delicious. Not too spicy. This is my go-to for Chinese food. Recently tried and was immediately in love with the orange beef. The sauce with the pan fried dumplings is amazing. I've been coming here for years. There was a problem with my order tonight and they completely shocked me with how they responded and resolved. Clearly have great pride in getting it right. Very good, I would want it spicier though. There was only one option to include spice, but I'm used to spicey food being from New Mexico. Ramen places there have levels of spice/hot. FOOD CROSS CONTAMINATION. DO NOT EAT HERE IF HAVE ALLERGY. They are not careful. We've ordered two dishes (Pad Thai and Lo Mein). Made sure to mention my severe allergy to avoid peanuts. Provided our number for them to call when it was ready ( as she suggested). It took about an hour for our food to be ready. I only knew it was ready when I decided to come back in restaurant and complain about wait. Our food was just sitting there. She mentioned she couldn't find us. I reminded her we provided a number as she suggested. She just apologized and moved on to next customer. Very rude. Once we started eating at home, I had an allergic reaction. I didn't see any peanuts though. So there must have been cross contamination while cooking. Pad Thai was very spicy. Lo Mein lacked flavor. Everything was very greasy. Came here for lunch and left feeling confident this is the best chinese place in the Frisco area. The prices here are a little higher (~$9.xx per entree vs $7-8 at other places) but you don't genuinely feel like a brick or regret your dinner 2 hours later. The food is cooked well, i wish it was a little spicier but that's just a personal preference. The Kung Pao had good flavors, Mongolian Beef was tender. Overall this isn't an "authentic true" Chinese restaurant; for that head down to Mr Wok in Plano or the assortment of great options around Richardson. But if you don't want to travel half an hour for a Chinese food fix, Yum is a solid alternative. read more

I was a regular customer UNTIL the ONE DAY I chose to go in to dine!!! I CANNOT LIE ABOUT THIS!!! I SERIOUSLY THOUGHT I WAS BEING PRANKED... NOPE!!! I normally would have took pictures and videos of stuff like this and I should have but I was ready to leave!!!!! YALL...
