I just got the small and it was pretty decently sized. + Ceviche and octopus tostadas were also very nice. Love their chips and salsa and love that it's free. Some places make you pay for that. That was my favorite. Anytime salsa is warm and smoky, I'm happy. Unfortunately both our meals were incredibly salty, and I say that as a salt lover. The salsa verde on my chicken and the chili con carne on his burrito were both too salty. The beans are a bit watered down as well. The menu is extensive here so I'm curious what the other meals are like- there definitely seems to be a fusion of two cuisines happening, which I actually very much appreciate. The staff is very kind! I'm all about customer service. As far as the setting, the music was a little too loud for me but it's a very causal vibe here and also plenty of tables and space, and lots of tv's. It was disappointing the draft beer wasn't working also. I might give this another try. read more

I stopped in for lunch after a long hike at the lake trails. I came late afternoon, place only had few patrons. The concept is simple and has some good pops of visuals. I like the rattan lighting over the bar. The seating is a step up, comfortable and nice base of color. The back wall and bar is a nice balance. The menu is ample. They have small plates. Seafood, fajitas and traditional Mexican food options. I ordered the Mar y Tierra plate. Shrimp was a bit over cooked. Flavor was bland. read more

This restaurant is in that up-and-coming corridor entering Little Elm from the bridge over Lake Lewisville, where the name changes to El Dorado Parkway. The restaurant itself is spacious and clean and has a nice bar with several TVs. The wait staff, and in particular, Domy, were very nice, gave great explanations of the menu, and genuinely seemed happy to serve. We tried a simpler of their aguachile, essentially a lime infused shrimp dish, served cold, much like a ceviche. They butterfly the shrimp, which was nice, but made it slightly chewy. We definitely did not feel cheated on the shrimp as each of the different trio flavors of aguachile had at least six large shrimp. Overall, the flavors were good (6/10) and i think we preferred the mango one the best. The tortilla soup is a very generous bowl and was filled with shredded chicken and other goodies. That was probably what we enjoyed the most. Well there might be overall better restaurants in that corridor, this is a good choice if you're looking for traditional Mexican (not Tex-Mex) style food. They did have a nice happy hour with $3.50 drafts and a variety of margarita flavors. read more

Came In the first time to eat. The DJ Angel is playing some great music. My date got grilled chicken fajitas tasted wonderful. Hot sauce and sweet tea are awesome on point!!! Ok.. where it comes, I ordered the salmon, with white rice, side of veggies, and I think garlic bread. Salmon was dry. I had to cover it with hot sauce just to get some moisture. If this was my last 20.00. I would rather save it and make my own!! I have to say a goodbye. Sorry, I would not recommend this place. It just needs to SLOW down!! BarraCruda had a grand reopening so we gave it a try before it's big weekend. I had the tostada pulpo and it was alright. The octopus was cooked properly and the flavor was there but there were too many tomatoes. Felt as if I was eating pico de gallo with a splash of octopus. The chips and dips were really good. Finally decided to try this place out, never really had high expectations, once you eat Mexican seafood in Mexico it's hard to duplicate here. It's like trying to buy NOLA food in Dallas, its just not the same. Came here with the wife and brat, I had the Three O aguachile with green pepper sauce and the other half with the FIERY chiltepin. Let me tell you right now if you are not good at handling heat Do Not order the Chiltepin, this is powdered FIRE!! I could only eat 4 if them, the wife ate 4 I believe as well, the more calmer green pepper sauce was much better and tastier... But the shrimp here does not taste very fresh, the shrimp was pretty tasteless, if not for the lime and hot sauce, this would have been a fail, also aguachile needs to have a lot more juice underneath it, this was very dry hardly any of the lime juice, this was just a very meh dish. The wife had the Shrimp Diablo, comes with a side of rice and some vegetables, the wife said the hot sauce or Diablo sauce was not very spicy, she wanted more heat, rhats why she ate 4 of my shrimp. She noticed the same thing about the shrimp, she said they were not fresh, and had no flavor whatsoever. The brat has a cheeseburger with fries, even the cheeseburger looked kinda sad, but the kiddo did like the fries. Another complaint was the Aguas are not fresh but of the instant mix variety wife ordered the agua de Jamaica and immediately noticed the flavor not being real. I asked for a pillow Sarandeadi and got a shrimp soup. Told the waitress was ok and kept it. Once I tasted it was completely bland and very little flavor. Mentioned to waitress and she said they never put salt or spice in the food. Potatoes were still hard, surimi(fake crab was like jelly. No silverware, or napkin, Table dirty and none pincked up thrash, Ask for a drink to go ad gave mebucket. Finally Send op paying 30 dollars for caldo and topo Chico. Although this restaurant may not have the freshest fish (we do live in N. Texas btw), I have to give this place 5 stars because, we'll let me explain...... First of all the service was excellent and it's sad to say that in today's service industry environment that good service is an anomaly. Nevertheless, the wait staff were friendly and helpful. I started with by ordering a Michelada to drink and Wow! A real and original spice mix paired perfectly with whichever Mexican beer you decide to order! Next, the chips and warm Chipotle salsa were tasty and fresh. Big props for standing out from every other Tex-Mex restaurant and offering something tasty and spicy. Now for the main review....I understand that this isn't the greatest cheviche I've had. But when reviewing I MUST consider the location and bravery of the owner to step outside of the normal N. Texas fare. The menu excites for its originality and presentation. It's so easy to stick to tried and true methods, so I applaud the owner(s) and creators of the menu! Not the best place to eat, looks like a cantina in Mexico or a saloon hall. Cheap tables, cheap chairs, cheap concrete floor, cheap food, and finally decent but not great food. Nice waitress, Spanish speaking, Middle Eastern owners, but the restaurant is suppose to be Tex-Mex. Place has cooks not Chefs, not great tasting food, just put it out people will eat it type deal. I didn't go there to stuff my belly till I was full. I went there to taste good food. Not really the case here. More of a man's after work fill the belly full place cause he's hungry and no one is cooking at home. Lots of Mexican men coming in to eat there, alone or with co-workers. I moved to this area about a year ago and was excited to see a place that served mariscos close to me. From the first day I walked in the owner Alex was very nice and welcoming to me. I have eaten here many times and their food is great! The staff is all very nice and the drinks are awesome as well! I've had quite a few dishes here and there hasn't been anything I disliked. The tostada with octopus is fantastic and you get a good portion the price. Great micheladas as well! They have some creative dishes and I highly recommend checking out this place. Their house sauce is a must try, I've had it on the oysters and it was delicious. I really liked the tuna tower also it tasted very fresh. Also the tacos de lengua is up there with the best lengua I've had. Give Barra Cruda a try and catch me at the bar! Salud! read more

Super quick and friendly service. We ordered 1lb of ceviche and it was delicious and quite a bit of food. Paired with their chips made it perfect. So tender and flavorful We also ordered Molcajete Mix for two. Beef, chicken, shrimp and sausage. Super flavorful and so much food. You could feed for with what we ordered. Was driving by and stopped in on a whim during our "snow storm" for dinner What a great- by chance- stop in for dinner! Granted the restaurant was relatively quiet but did have a large party seated of guests. We were greeted and helped quickly. The menu is huge here so lots of options and unique options too! I tried the whole fried tilapia fish and granted I wanted the snapper it wasn't available. Totally reasonable as shipping had been stopped due to the weather which they explained so I'll be back to try this!! I mean this was a tasty fish as it was so I'm excited to come back to try the snapper. They give you chips and salsa and the salsa is good. Could be spicier for sure but it was great. The rice was meh.. When i asked what it was they were so forthcoming with me saying that the chef that usually makes the rice didn't make it in due to the weather so they made a rice lol so just that level of transparency gives them more stars in my opinion. I didn't realize until I was leaving that they had horchata and Jamaica drinks available so I got a Jamaica to go as well!! We stopped in tonight for dinner after a day on the lake. I wasn't sure what to expect since there weren't many reviews online and it's the July 4th holiday. We started with the shrimp cocktail and the flavors were bold and the shrimp were huge. For my meal, I ordered the shrimp in butter sauce and my husband had the lobster. Both we're very good and the lobster was the largest I've seen outside of Lobster Village near Rosarito, Mexico. Everything is really fresh and just the right amount of flavor. A bit of a surprise in that the food appears and tastes like fresh made real Mexican food. Salsa is served warm with warm chips and the salsa ingredients are roasted and add great flavor. We had bacon-wrapped shrimp stuffed with white Mexican cheese which was also great. Also served with just right sautéed veggies and rice which was a slight different but very good. After trying it one Sunday afternoon (only 2 other tables were occupied) we figured out why. $9 for a small bean and cheese burrito and $6 domestic bottles were like a kick in the nuts! We splurged on the seafood tower and agua chiles which were tasty but still a little overpriced in my opinion. Staff was friendly and I would give it 3.5 if possible. Very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. My teenage son and I stopped here sour of the moment for lunch because we saw they were open. We wanted sonething diffetent, and were not disappointed. We were greeted upon entering, and tbey took the time to show us pictures on Instagram of the dishes we were considering to order. My son got the Octopus, and loved it! Wish we could have tried the food! Arrived at 5PM and was the only table there minus a 4 top. We did have a party of 10. The waitress took our drink orders and then it went downhill from there. Our drinks were empty and despite my wife getting up and telling what I assume was the owners that we would like additional drinks, we were ignored while he took care of 1 arrival to sit at the bar. Our waitress finally made it back to our table for additional drinks and refills. We inquired about our food since it had been an hour since our arrival. Another 10 minutes pass and what I assume was the owner informs us that our food order was just put in 10 minutes ago. I informed him that it was unfortunate as we had already been here an hour and had somewhere to be in 45 minutes. He said the waitress was new and unaware. I informed him he should have been assisting in that case since there were no other tables and you would think a 10 top to your restaurant would be a priority on a slow day. We asked for the check for our drinks and queso. They tried to bring out the soup that was ordered but at that point we only had 25 minutes left until our appointment. We refused and he did the right thing and offered to box up what we ordered at no cost. I informed him only 5 of us were local while the other 5 were in a hotel and just to give the food to his workers. We had already waited well over an hour with poor service and oversight. We paid for our drinks and queso and left. Those of us who are local will not attempt to visit again as we were not a priority the first time on a night with no other tables. Owners of small businesses/restaurants need to take an active role in managing their business and making sure customers are being attended to. This is clearly not the case here. I would have liked to have tried the Mexican food as the owners are not Mexican so their take on it might have been different. read more
