I had been wanting to try out this restaurant, so my friend and I decided to stop by for lunch when we were near the area. The area is located in a super cute area in Little Elm, and the restaurant is also very pretty inside with lots of seating. There is also a bar with plenty of seating if you want to come and just grab some drinks. We started off with their beef meatballs on their happy hour menu, one of their specialty items, the fried golden shrimp balls, as well as their duck roti. We also ordered the Tom Yum and the Full Moon Party cocktail, both of which were delicious and refreshing! I loved how the cocktails were flavorful but not too sweet. The meatballs were good, but nothing spectacular, and the shrimp balls were coated in a crumbly crispy texture that fell apart easily, so it was a little difficult to eat cleanly. It was still tasty, though! The duck roti was pretty good, but I think it was a tad bit dry, although flavors were good. For our entree, we ordered the white pad thai and the duck larb. The white pad thai is made in a different sauce than traditional pad thai and was pretty good, but I think I do prefer traditional pad thai over this dish. The duck larb was the absolute star of the show! Thinly sliced duck breast topped with a Thai chili lime sauce, cilantro, onion, and served with their black sticky rice. SO good! We wanted to check out Thai in Town as there isn't another Thai restaurant in Little Elm. We ordered to go and everything turned out alright. The Papaya Salad wasn't spicy nor saucy enough. It seemed as if the sauce was pooled as the bottom and none of it stuck to the Green Papaya. I had the Duck Curry and it was delicious but it wasn't as spicy as I requested. The carrots and potatoes could have been cooked longer as they were difficult to cut. My friend found a piece of steel wire in her Crab Meat Egg Noodle so that wasn't fun. The pork in her dish was a bit tough to chew. I really enjoyed the Bread Pudding and my friend loved his Mango Sticky Rice. read more

This place has really good Thai food. I liked the basil fried rice and asked for the spiciest level but it wasn't really spicy at all. My friends really enjoyed the ice cream and sticky rice. Came here hoping that there would finally be a closer authentic Thai restaurant up north and Thai in Town didn't disappoint! Not only is the restaurant aesthetically lovely, their food was delicious and there were items on the menu that I've personally had in Thailand but have never seen on a US menu. Service was attentive as well and the restaurant wasn't loud or crowded. There is ample seating and they have a rooftop area! Highly recommend getting their Khao Soi 10/10. Reminded me of the Khao Soi I ate in Chiang Mai. Absolute fav comfort dish. I also really liked their fried taro appetizer. Love Taro and this was crispy and full of taro. 10/10 If you want to venture out to other unique authentic dishes that you don't see often, I recommend trying the Miang Kum. It is a flavor explosion in your mouth. Lots of different flavors like shrimp, betel leaf, herbs, coconut, ginger, lime, and onions. Fresh but flavorful! We also tried the Khao Yum which is an assortment of rice and veggies with lemongrass and boiled egg. This reminds me of a cold rice salad. Also very flavorful. I got the duck noodle soup and it was super good, it was slightly salty but not inedible. I got spicy level and it was perfect for me, they do spice levels how I like. Spicy means almost too spicy but good enough to keep eating. Medium is spicy that you'd be fine. If you're not good with spice then I advise to get mild to no spice. The drunken noodles are good. We made the drive to Little Elm to try Thai in Town, the newest location by Chef Owner Mia Singthin and it was well worth the trip. The décor is outstanding--highlighted by a lifelike stuffed peacock, a sleek full bar, and a rooftop balcony with a stunning view overlooking Hydrous Wake Park. The menu expands on the original Sakhuu Thai offerings by incorporating delicious regional dishes. We especially enjoyed the Khao Yum and Khanom Jeen Nam Ya, two vibrant and flavorful specialties from Southern Thailand. The Gang Hung Lay, a Northern Thai curry, was also exceptional--expertly prepared by Chef App Liver and Chef Tip. Desserts were equally impressive. The crème brûlée by Chef Porntip Ang and roti with coconut ice cream were the perfect finish to a memorable meal. We received wonderful service from Rachatawan Eve Veyroj, the manager, who made our visit even more enjoyable. We're already looking forward to our next visit. read more

Since moving back to TX from Atlanta, GA we have been slightly disappointed with the Thai cuisine we've had here, until we happened upon Thai In Town. As we walked up to the door we noticed a sign that mentioned they were in there "soft opening" phase - not sure how long they have been open, but really glad we got stopped in. The food was bold - definitely not "washed out" and we were so excited to actually get true Thai flavors. We were hoping to find some of the clay pot dishes we enjoy so much in ATL, but even without those we plan to return to try more entrees from the menu. We decided to try this place Friday evening. It was recommended by an acquaintance, and since it is new I didn't check Yelp reviews and we ran with the decision. The place is beautifully decorated. Attention to do detail was definitely had, from the seating to the decor to the dishes, it's a vibe and one I loved. We were seated over by a window and the leather chairs were SUPER comfortable. We didn't wait too long to be seated and it being about 6:30 we were willing to give grace. We were even super understanding that it took over 15 minutes for our drink order to be taken. Although, that did give us plenty of time to decide on what we were ordering. I had the Green Goddess but instead of gin asked for tequila. It was refreshing and exactly what I needed on a Friday evening. My fiancee ordered the Tom Yum - he was not a fan. The ginger beer was a bit to overpowering for his taste. We got our drinks after about 20 minutes. We ordered the Duck Roti and Crispy Spring Rolls to start. The Roti was great, I wish there was more duck, and the sauces were very sweet. The spring rolls were not great at all, lacked flavor. 25 minutes after our drinks. Not 5 minutes after receiving our apps, our entree arrived. I had the chicken Pad See Ew which was DELISH!!! Since it came so soon after the apps, I only had a couple of bites and took the rest home. Which btw reheated very well the next day. I was disappointed that I had no spice at all. I ordered it at level 2, so i was expecting a little bit of a punch but got nothing. My fiancee had the yellow curry, which is his go to dish, and he wasn't wowed at all. He said there wasn't anything particularly bad just very basic. Overall, food wasn't impressive and they have kinks to work out in their service. Maybe have more waitstaff. I did notice there was a party of about 10 next to us who received their food at like 4 different times. One person waited for quite a while to start eating as she didn't want to be rude to her partner. So I definitely won't be coming here with more than 4 at a time. read more

Had to try out the new Thai restaurant in Little Elm. So glad we did. It didn't disappoint. The food was delicious full of flavor and beautifully presented. The soft background music added a relaxing touch and created a warm and inviting atmosphere. Be patient as they are in their soft opening (May) as they hire more staff before grand opening. We started with emerald dumplings. They tasted amazing and the sauce just sent made it taste even better, mind blowing! Then we had Signature Thai Town Tom Yum. Love the flavors and how fresh it is. It has a kick to it! For our main course I had massaman curry with chicken, also amazing flavor and is spicy. He had the duck larb, all I can say is WOW didn't know what to expect but it was so good. We finished our meal with mango sticky rice. The mango was so fresh! We will be back and bring our friends. Restaurant has enough space to accommodate a large party. Checked this newer place out last Saturday around 2:00pm while having a Little Elm fun day. The food was delicious and the service was great. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Ordered the lemon drop and my husband had a Thai beer. Both very good and they have happy hour on Saturday! My husband had the white pad Thai and it was really good! Light and not oily like some places are with the traditional pad Thai. I had the Red Curry with chicken - medium spice which was a nice amount of heat. Next time I would probably get it spicy as I do like the heat. Overall a great experience and will definitely be back! read more

For dinner we shared pad thai, massaman curry, and another dish - all were good. For dessert we asked if they had Thai donuts, which is typically a staple at most Thai restaurants, but the waiter didn't know what we were talking about since they didn't have it on the menu. Instead, we had mango sticky rice... which was absolutely amazing. So rich in coconut and milk and mango flavor. We were so excited to try this place out, but ended up in disappointment. For starters, we made reservations and our table wasn't ready when we arrived. As we sat down, no tables were touched and it took awhile for waters to arrive. A lot of our entrees and appetizers were forgotten and our meals arrived out of order. It seems like once you type in an order, it automatically gets sent to the bar and kitchen as things were arriving when we haven't finished ordering. The system seems to be flawed as if you are sending orders through, it should be placed as drinks, appetizers and then entrees. The only reason it should be out of order is if the customer isn't quite ready. I will say we are satisfied with the food quality and ambiance but service is something they need major work on. As we received our checks, we notice a 20% gratuity. Typically, I don't mind but I feel like there was a lack of effort knowing there is an automatic tip. A group of six of us dined here last night. First off, the restaurant is beautiful inside and money was spent to make it a really nice place. We were seated by and served by a man that appeared to be the manager. He seated us and literally tossed our menus in the middle of the table, and wasn't seen for the next twenty minutes. When he finally came around to take orders he only wanted drink and appetizer orders which we thought was odd. When the drinks came out one of us had ordered Diet Coke, and it was served with a mason jar slammed down in the table and the can - no refills, for $3. Any lesser restaurant would give you a refill for that price - disappointed, especially with the long wait times for the food. My appetizer didn't arrive until I flagged someone down, and although the soup was good, it wasn't the one I ordered. Orders were then taken for main courses, when they came out one was missing and after again flagging someone down...our server never checked on us -ever, the food appeared twenty minutes later. To be fair, they are still in a "sift opening" phase, and from what we could see, the service still needed a lot of work. We couldn't really tell if the rest of the patrons were getting better service, but the manager taking care of us- wasn't. I've had warmer and more attentive service at the DMV. The restaurant was only a third full but they really couldn't handle it. Our consensus was that we wouldn't consider returning until they improved service, but the food was pretty good and was presented well. read more
