BEST TACOS! The name says it all...$1 tacos ($2 for some specialty ones). The tacos are authentic, cheap, and delicious. You can get so many for such a cheap price. I like the asada the best, the carnitas and the pastor are also really tasty! I tried the shrimp this past time but thought it was okay. I would stick to the meat tacos. My friends and I have been coming to this taco truck for years!! I found it one night driving home from work! Over the years a few other trucks have popped up on Inglewood but you'll recognize this one right away by the big green neon $ sign, the usual large crowd and mostly by the fact that it has a entire parking lot devoted to it. Take note too, that in that parking lot on good days, you can find the churro lady frying up fresh churros and plaintains. I usually grab a carne asada taco or burrito- all meat no rice or beans. Words cannot describe how much I enjoyed having Taco Dollar! For someone as frugal as me, paying only $3 for two tacos and a horchata, I was in cheap ass heaven! They are known for their dollar tacos, hence the name, but there are a variety of other things on the menu as well, such as burritos. There is also a churro lady right outside that sells her yummy churros for $1 as well! The tacos were good, but the dispensing system for the salsa and guacamole made the product VERY WATERY. Still tasted good though. Parking is not hard to find at all, we parked in the lot that the truck is parked in front of. You just drive past the gate. They have security there sometimes too. Been here six years ago and yesterday was the day that I went back here from Boston. Oh how I wish we had dollar taco food trucks! Firstly, the have a parking lot which is super convenient. For a dollar, each taco comes with a huge amount of meat. You get your food made and once it comes out, there is a condiment area where you'll be able to add your sauces, pickled onions, onions and cilantro, and lime. They also have complementary chili lime cucumbers. One top of all this goodness, there's another stall in the parking lot with a lady selling churros. 4 for $1 and she also makes fresh plantain chips and other goodness. One taco truck to rule them all. "Go to Taco Dollar and your quest will be over" exclaimed fellow TQer, @Irishgiron, as he saw us jump from mediocre taco truck to mediocre taco truck in LA. Hopeful, yet cautious, we ventured into Inglewood to try tacos that would restore our faith in the Los Angeles taco game. We arrive to Inglewood at a food truck so popular it has its own parking lot. We were met by a cashier was so kind that if the food wasn't enough, the customer service would definitely garner loyalty. We ordered the classic pastor, carnitas, and carne asada tacos. We decided to pay $2 per taco to get them with handmade tortillas and we patiently waited, not knowing that our lives were about to change. The pastor was good, and the carnitas was great, but upon taking the first bite out of the carne asada taco we knew we weren't in LA anymore. The sheer taste of the, dare I say, perfect tortilla and incredible meat had transported us to heaven itself. We finished the rest of the taco while being cradled by a blanket of goodness, happiness, and safety. A feeling the carne asada enjoys by being wrapped in such tortilla. A feeling that only comes from tasting the greatest street tacos we have ever had. After we were done we realized we were still in the Taco Dollar parking lot crying of happiness. Crying for we knew what love was. Crying for we knew the quest we started 4 years ago had led us to this moment. Crying because we knew that California truly had the greatest tacos in the world and it was up to us to find them. They would not be found through yelp or long lines of tourist, they would be found through our incredible followers and by venturing into every corner of this beautiful state.
